Happs are nice to play on, I just hate how the button shaft is so long...

DAMMIT TO HELL

I downloaded an update for MvC2 on my PS3, and now it's no longer the full game, it's the trial version!

I would have to buy it.

It was on there when my brother gave the PS3 to me, so I'm assuming he bought the full game. And I played it as the full game not long ago too.

That's what I'd like to know...

It was downloaded onto the system in August 2009. I don't think I've ever tried playing it with an internet connection til now. I think I played it last when PSN was still down, but updates usually come from the publisher server and not PSN.

I know that it was the full game when I played it though. The menu now is so different, there isn't even an arcade mode. And I know I played arcade mode last.

So it was completely up to date before and then suddenly you downloaded a new update and lost it all????

I played a few more online fights in Super Street Fighter IV. Most of which, just to get a few simple trophies. So I competed in my first Team Battle and in my first Endless Battle. Good news from my battles is that I've had my first winning streak of online battles. I won two straight using Akuma, but had to earn a third (which is a PSN Trophy) in a row to get the trophy by fighting Ken. Sadly, the streak ended at two.

Away from the online realm, I've beaten the game with a few more characters. I won using Balrog and Juri. Amid my disappointment is not being able to beat Seth using C. Viper, and I've lost ten straight rounds against Balrog in my Rivalry Match using Dudley. Balrog is absolutely brash, but I like him! His comments are crazy, and I'm not just talking about "MY FIGHT MONEY!!!" The same level of brash and cocky style was taken from Street Fighter Alpha 3 and taken nicely into SSF4.

I almost cleared that Barrel smashing bonus stage until I lost my focus briefly and let a few barrels slip away. Another accomplishment for me is that I won two matches today flawlessly. I'm doing everything at the default Medium level. I will, though, have to beat the game on Hardest to get one PSN trophy. That means I'll have to master both the game and a certain character I've mastered.

I almost lost to Dan because I couldn't beat his normals. I am pissed right now because I am constantly losing and throwing how hopeful attacks to counter them. I am really pissed right now..

Yun's divekicks are un:censored:believable...... it's so hard to react to those because they start so quick AND they stuff a lot of things...

Yun's HK dive kick is -4 on block. Though reading the match up thread,
Sweep works against dive kick, but it's easy to mistime it since the twins can delay their dive kick and just hit you on recovery.
Bahn
Cr. HP against divekicks performed at a distance.
Cr. MP also works well, since it lowers her hitbox -- all comes down to spacing.

I definitely would not recommend cr. hk on a divekick performed in close proximity.

Mago vs Poongko

I am assuming that is the LK version, have you tried your standing or crouching jab?

I blamed a lot of things on lag last night.... some dude thinks non-ex lunge punch is safe on block so he mashes jab like mad afterwards... it ticked me off that he thought it was safe..

You can grab him out of every lunge except EX... so to be told you can't with him jabbing is just unacceptable.

I've been curious as to how Yun and Yang are in SSF4. I never used them much (if at all) in "Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike," but I do think they are pretty capable brothers. I know what to expect from Evil Ryu. The one real player I don't know much anything about is Oni. Oni, to me, seems like a much more powerful Akuma. Anyone who's fought as or against Akuma knows Akuma is just bad ass. From a YouTube video I've seen... Oni would make even Akuma go into a corner crying. I would definitely want to try out the four new characters for the SSF4 Arcade Edition pack. Probably not fight against them, though (except for Yun and Yang, whom I'd stand the best chance against).

Another note on SSF4... the arranged music is pretty cool. Especially if you've followed the Street Fighter series for some time, many of the themes will seem very familiar. Like for example, I've always loved Dudley's theme in "Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike." The arranged theme is about cool as the SF3 version.

Right now, I'm watching my first-ever Replay Channel replays. Good fight between Ken and Dee Jay. I also learned that you can accept invitations to fight. So if I feel like fighting some human opponents, all I'd have to do is accept an invite.

Both Evil Ryu and Oni are garbage.... but it's better they are than if they were OP.

You should consider doing Trials, John ;)

and you jump an awful lot!

AOS- and I finally fought. We had an Endless Battle in SSF4. A few times, I had the upper hand in a few fights. He was handing me my ass- 17 matches in a row lost. I, though, came back starting with an interesting Balrog vs. Balrog match. My Balrog won, then I accomplished something I never did online until this evening- win three straight matches online (in any setting). Maybe my best non-winning moment was when AOS- had Dhalsim and I was Dudley. Out of desperation, I made it a brand new fight by pulling off a vicious combo to make it a photo finish of a fight... but AOS- prevailed in that round.

I've now done at least 50 total fights online (good enough for another Trophy) in this game. I have four Endless Battle wins now. Do the math- 52 fights, 11 wins, 21.15% win percentage. So I'm 11-41. I do go into the air a lot. I never said I'm a Street Fighter veteran. My trade is racing. I do like a good fight every now and then, though. Believe me- excessive jumps would kill me against Sagat (for example). It was still good to be in these fights.

Reversal Ultra upon getting anti-aired is vicious? lol

A big habit you should get out of is trying to beat everything... in particular the reversal ultras, dragon punches and other random special moves. they work once in a while, but once people figure out that you've become too reliant on it, they can bait that out, like I did a few times.

Also, you can either hit down OR any 2 attacks together upon falling to get back up immediately.

I don't try to get up early all the time. The only exception is if I'm playing a Virtua Fighter game, where you could be attacked on the ground. It just gives me a half-second to think about my next move. A big negative to jumps is that you get left wide open to be smacked around. Funny enough, it's rare I usually use special aerial attacks to those who use special or Super/Ultra moves.

As for Trials, some of the trials are very tough (at least for me). I'm not making excuses, but everyone has their limit for any game. Everyone has their talent level. And if you believe in the sports saying "you are what your record is," then I'm not cut out for the online fighter realm.

When I saw some replays from the Replay Channel, I there saw all the elites. These were more like the professionals whom have absolutely mastered and honed their craft to be SSF4 masters. Oh, speaking of the Replay Channel, I saw a match involving two Yangs battling each other. Doesn't look like Yang missed a beat.
