Hi I am Australian but I went to Switzerland once and they all spoke German. I tried to converse to the best of my ability. I also like to race Nurburgring at night while it's raining. Do I qualify?
Thanks.

I'm Australian as well and I've been to Germany! (and Austria ;-) )

And my English partner lived there for three years with her first husband, who was in the RAF.

And a friend of one of my step-sons married a German girl and lives there now!

I've also been to Switzerland, where they speak Schweizerdeutsch (sp?), which to my ears and limited grasp of German sounds like it has about as much in common with German as Dutch does with English

I am a German guy too . Living in the heart of Bavaria
