Getting better tickets when not playing GT7

Has anyone else experienced this with GT7? In the past few months I haven't been playing the game due to running out of things to do (surprise surprise). After the previous update I played enough to get a daily matathon and got a 6 star ticket, then I didn't play until yesterday when I got a 5 star ticket. The rewards from both were still pretty lame, but previously when I would earn tickets daily over many months I would only ever get 4 & 3 star tickets. Has this changed in the recent updates or is perhaps the ticket system designed to give you better rewards if you don't play the game often?

100% agree. I get 6 star roulette tickets most of the time if I leave a week or more between sessions.

I think there is an algorithm in the background that allocates a certain level of rewards per time period, e.g. per month, regardless of how many times you play.

Yes I've seen those percentages before, but it is strange how consistenly different the tickets are based on playing frequently or not often. almost as though it's been designed to entice players to come back before making them disappointed again. Considering how rigged the ticket system is it wouldn't surprise me

Not noticed this when I've had odd few weeks off every now and then.

Sometimes when playing every day I'll get forgettable amounts every day for 3 weeks or so, then I'll suddenly get 500-1 mill 2 or 3 times in a week or so, or decent car I can sell for high amount.

May be wrong, but i think it could be like a casino slot/game that has a return to player/rtp built in, so over long term most people will roughly be within somewhat similar total of winnings... that's assuming you play frequently enough for it to even out.

I think this is a thing too. I had a long break playing in October/November and played a lot in December. In December I got back-to-back 1M credit prizes then routinely was awarded 5K prizes after that. Took a break Jan-April (got god of war for Christmas lol) and played last week and got a 6-star ticket first day I played (won the Aston VGT, would’ve rather had the money).

I’ve noticed this each time I’ve taken 5-10 days in a row away from GT7 for vacations. Each time I came back for the first 2-3 days I got nothing but 5 and 6 star tickets then after 2-3 days of consecutive playing it went back to the normal 3 and 4 stars tickets. Getting 5 and 6 star tickets has always been streaky for me so perhaps my timing of vacations is just right, but perhaps being away for whatever amount of time prompts better tickets temporarily.

Yes, I know the published matrix exists of the odds and prize pools and everything, but it is interesting that this has not only happened to me on 3 different occasions without fail, but also happens to others.
Perhaps we don’t know everything we think we do about how the tickets work, or we’re all just extremely lucky in the same way?
Either way, this is a very real phenomenon, for some of us at least.

I seem to get higher payouts after using different parts of the game like scapes or revisiting missions and CE’s instead of the same races over and over.

Same if I do TT’s in the track sections where no credits are paid out. But possibly to a lesser extent.

I wouldn't know since I haven't missed a day since I got the game back on nov 7 of last year.

I guess that explain all the 3 star ticket stuff I been getting lately not that it matters since there's nothing a ticket stuff can give me that I want or need.

I doubt it. Have you ever bought a car or thought about buying a car, and then you notice that the roads are full of them? We remember coincidences more than non-coincidences, and that makes us think that coincidences happen more often than they do.

The only time I missed a day I got the Pagani invitation the next day. Probably a coincidence. I guess that’s why gambling is addictive and people have “systems” for scratch-offs and slot machines that are in fact random.

Interesting to hear other players having similar experiences.
Here's a crazy idea: let's all stop playing for the next month or two to test this out and when polyphony sees this drastic change in usage they will panic and randomly give us the features we have been asking for for many months

People are really, really bad at recognizing randomness. The game is random.
This reminds me (just for fun)

I drove to work yesterday morning and noticed a grassy area near the highway entrance that was at least two feet tall and wondered why it hasn’t been mowed yet. Apparently it looks like it hasn’t been touched this entire season, and I have never thought to notice this until yesterday.

On the way home in the afternoon lo and behold the grass was cut.

So, in a different thread (can’t remember off hand) @Famine described in good detail what the likely algorithm is that’s used to generate ticket prizes.

Just a thought…
I don’t know if this is the case but If its using the actual day as one of the factors then it wouldn’t matter how many tickets we received or if we logged in. eg on May 24th Player 2378 is going to receive prize #1,322 and whatever corresponding ticket. Or, it could be based on the number of days since you started the game, eg “Day 210”. So it’s possible that whether or not we logged in everyday beforehand that we would receive that prize for the daily reward. The longer period of time has gone by the more likely we’ll see another 5* or 6* ticket.

Honestly, I’m not overly excited getting the regular 6* tickets, I’d rather see the 4* & 5* as they’re the only one’s with special parts and engines. Would be really nice if they include the feature to purchase engines this coming update or the next

That just relates to the prizes inside the tickets though (and there's a further refinement of the population of each prize type), not the star grade of the tickets.

As far as anyone I'm aware of is aware, the star grade of the ticket is sufficiently randomised to call it random but with a weighting depending on your Collector Level; I know that at Level 50 it's impossible to receive one- or two-star tickets from Daily Marathons, but I don't recall anything else.

Just to add more purely hyperbolic gas to the conspiracy flames that is neither provable nor disprovable without revealing the source code… I’d also add I played every day and had very good luck consistently getting an even variety of prize’s (and ticket level getting 4 & 5 * consistently) within each ticket until the daylight savings glitch hit and then ever since I constantly get the lowest available (3* tickets normally). I never got $5,000 credits until after daylight savings time change. Now it’s my bread and low price grade d butter.

Onto the topic, those of us that believe…
Let’s form our own X-Files of documentation of each prize and ticket level playing each day over 4weeks, then playing every 5 days once for 4 weeks. A large enough sample size can provide enough data to come to an educated conclusion.

Only counting DW's tickets, where I am able to get their value (either cash or cars).

I've only tracked 68 DW tickets so far (since I came back in the end of february this year)

Seems like I should stop playing on sundays 🤣

Haven’t earned a ticket since D4 came out. Going to get the daily marathon one of these days here soon and see if my streak of coincidentally getting a 5 or 6 star ticket after not playing for several consecutive days continues.

About seven months into the game's life, I had a weird little system where I try to "guess" where the higher ticket would be rewarded. Sometimes I felt like it worked, too.

The gist of it was out of seven days, I'd mix up how I got my tickets. Custom race, online race, Time trial, practice.

Luck of the draw was doing a Time trial one day to get an engine ticket, to doing three online races and getting another one a day later.

Lately I've been doing the time trials, and keep getting four stars with an occasional three star.

Just earned my first roulette ticket since June and it’s a 5 star. The streak continues.
