Getting bored of GTS

I thought these forums are for coversation. Kind of the whole point of these threads is to get an opinion and thoughts from fellow gamers. I think starting a new thread is better option to filling existing thread with off topic conversation.:lol:

That said - i think i make my point of view more clear. As we see theres all kinds of reasons people get bored of the game. Im one who doesnt play games to spend time, thus really dont have time for games that require long hours, but instead I use the few hours per week i have precious free time left by playing GTS. I have since launch - or since beta actually, and for some reason i just lately have started to get bored. Instead of "one more lap/race" i take few laps or a race or two and im done. And its not like im getting worse. Im actually very much on par with my performance before the slight physics change they did.

As i have not complained too much about the new physics version - i was actually one of the optimistic ones here, i must say there is some truth in these comments of new physics being a bit dull and lifeless. Less stimulating id say. Not saying its more or less realistic, but it does seem to make the game a bit lifeless. Sport races are like past few F1 seasons - theres "racing", but everyone has to be so carefull with understeer and penalties its more of a math competition than fight club. :odd: That coming from someone who loves clean racing is something..

Alright, have fun with the thread. ;)

When it gets to the point that it just feels like work, that’s when I take a break for a week or two.
The fact you can take a break from it whenever you feel like it is what makes it not like work. It's the reason why I'm playing GTS rather than another game that doesn't allow you to take a break even for a single week. Sigh, it's Thursday again, time to do my weekly chores in that other game (I haven't quite managed to totally drop it yet, having invested enough time to keep up for long enough that I can't quite bear to stop keeping up, so I spend those few hours a week it requires me to work for).

Yeah when it feels like I am just forcing myself to play for whatever reason, then it feels like work. I don’t see the big deal in that.

If someone got bored of GT Sport, why the hell would someone make a 2nd account for ?

PD has to give me something special to play GT Sport again, and Rain would definitely not get me interested.

If you don't understand why, read more till you do understand.

Do like I have and start a new game 21 times. :) Try a different pattern to moving through the game:

Only do the Circuit Experiences, or just do Sport Mode or pick a manufacturer and only do the Nations and Manufacturers events on those days or complete only the Arcade Mode races. Just use road cars only and only collect Gr.3/Gr.B road cars from the mileage exchange. Try to have only one car in your garage. Only buy/use cars from the brands in your real life garage. Only use real cars in their respective classes LMP, GT3, GT4(no VGT, Gr.1, Gr.3, Gr.4, Gr.B). Buy the AE86 and customize it like in GT1 & GT2. See how far you can go in the game with it. Do Custom Races using only real circuits.

It's amazing what combinations I've done each time.

I thought I would play through again and get the platinum trophy (again). I did this this for GT5/6. But alas, I have given up as it is sooooo mind numbingly boring :-(

So I just do a few weekly races and with a care factor of zero of how my DR/SR gets affected on the second account.

One of my main concerns with the design of gts is how impossible the 15-20mil cars are to get for casual online racer. Dont like leaving my ps4 running for a night. Have played since beta and for the first time im above 15M.

And not a single lucky strike beyond Veneno on daily carousel despite countless times ive seen the unicorns in it..

The prize funds should be higher in Sport mode:
1. You'll get the cash to buy the expensive cars (I've been playing the game since it came out and I don't have any yet)
2. I expect more people would play sport mode if a 5th or 6th place is worth the same amount of money as a win in a typical offline race.
3. Change the multiplier slightly for the clean race bonus. Say 100% extra money for clean race. 50% for only 1 SR down.

I'll occasionally grind a race or two at BMB for 15 laps, but I'd rather be using that time to improve my sport mode performance.

I don’t think the 15-20m cars were intended to be had by the “casual” player though considering the amount of time it takes to acquire them.

I usually play once every 2 months or so...I do all the Updates
GT5/6 i used to play almost every day but GTS...NO!
BUT I play everyday FIFA 19...

That thread title suggest a rant about the flaws of GTS, but im just getting bored. I really cant say for sure why. Yes the physics took a step to the dull side for the gr3 - all that understeer makes cornering a task of sliding (front) through corners. Theres not much of dynamic feel with gr3 - nor in ffb.. (tgt)

There is just occasional good car/track combo in dailies, but mostly i just run sport tt trying to improve. I even get bored of that more and more.

Anyone else experiencin similar loss of interest?

Yep, new physics have made the game almost unplayable for me, it is not enjoyable at all trying to get massively understeery cars around a track.

Online Lobbies are end-game for me and give basically unlimited entertainment.

I’m not understanding the Sport Mode fans who don’t migrate to online lobbies when they get bored.
For the first 12 months I only played Sport Mode. These days I just jump into lobbies. Recently I’ve been interested in Goodwood with various road cars. Far more casual and enjoyable than Sport Mode. Players, for the most part, race clean.

A great way to experience a range of cars.

So I think it comes down to this at the moment.

PD's monthly updates are working well and the format is very solid but after you complete the DLC you have to find your own things
to do or go Sport/Online lobby racing which you can only do for so long before you get fed up.

Now if PD were to rethink the formula and offer a bigger DLC with more content and variety it might entice people to keep playing.

The best example is we have the upcoming Diamond Resort Casino DLC for GTA Online which having looked at the trailer I see at least
3/4 cars I would like to use straight off that I'll happily spend virtual money on but they are cars I would like to see in GT Sport
yet they are not here yet...so it's natural to go play the game with the content.

A new VR headset couldn’t even keep me interested in this game. Wanted to try all the cars I could, but the game economy is so deplorable, brutal, frustrating and predisposed to grinding and micro transactions I gave up.

Granted the track content has increased, but I still find them bland, lackluster and dull.

This was the least engaging game of the series in my opinion.

so to prevent this I took out my laptop installed the horizon 4 and motorsport 7 on it. and it feels great to come back to GTS every now and then to drive some beautiful cars

all games fade for me if I play too much of them or I get close to end game content so it's good to throw in another one into the mix and do the old switcheroo

With 50k km and 500+ sport races of casual gaming i thought i would had deserved some of the unicorns.

We got spoiled rotten with GT6's gratuitously rich credit system. I can't remember for sure but my earnings were around 3 billion just from doing the quick matches and the mega expensive cars became cheap as a result.

I can find FIA practice, and GR3/4 on supersofts, but N class on comfort/sports tyres seem hard to find, there seems to be less lobbies in general.
So true, and it's frustrating... In fact, i've always had like 5 friends playing GTS at any given time since game launch, but i rarely see any of them racing in open lobbies; maybe once a week or so, and it's not enough.
I believe many of them would prefer N-class on CH/SH, but i quess they have already given up trying to build active player base like in GT5/6 - All potential rooms are (and remain) always near empty.

I quess Sport mode is sucking the life out of open lobbies, or there simply isn't enough players.

Seasonal events and login bonus - those were the days.

I am still; very happy with it but ideally i'd really like to see the cars divided into proper classes, more old race cars and things like Caterham's for example, and add a few solid real life tracks.

Basically, Project Cars II without the bugs or over-reach or sketchy controller handling.

Imagine having;

- Group 5 class (as in the 80's nasty group 5 cars)
- 90's prototypes separated from modern ones
- V8 supercars
- 2 litre touring cars
- Caterham class mixed with other off the shelf type hobby track cars
- Full field of 60's lemans prototypes

Then add;

- Road America
- Spa
- Phillip Island
- Oulton park
- Knockhill
- Donington
- Imola
- Old Silverstone from the 60's
- Malaysia GP track

It's not a TON of content to add but the game would be immeasurably better and we can get past the relentless use of Group 3 and 4, Suzuka, and Fuji.

I'd pay for the game again if it added this content.

Is anyone else finding it difficult to find interesting lobbies? I can find FIA practice, and GR3/4 on supersofts, but N class on comfort/sports tyres seem hard to find, there seems to be less lobbies in general.

I have this same problem, when I find an interesting looking road car lobby they are almost always using RSS tires, even if it’s only N200. :banghead:

I got bored one week after release. Since then, I fire up GTS like once every month.

- There are no quick lobbies to hop on with you best car and best setup. No, there are either selected races with a limited number of cars (stock)....or and endless list of lobbies with 2 to 5 players in each. And they mostly do boring practice. You have to waste your time to look around, selecting filters etc.
- There are no setups to download IN-GAME from other players. The process of copying settings from gtplanet takes too long (conversions too, since most players use the imperial system). PD should take the system to share liveries and use it for setups too.
- There are no aftermarket body and tuning parts.
- The triggers of the DS4 are really bad to brake and accelerate because of their very short range.
- Still no clutch button.
- Not enough cars, even though I like the fact they keep adding some once in a while.
- No Spa, Laguna Seca, Silverstone, Sebring, Mugello, Pikes Peak, no gt classics like Seattle, Trial Mountain, etc. Only a bunch of new and unknown tracks, either real or randomly created by PD, that I couldn't care less about and that nobody asked for.
- The economy system is really bad. Gifts and daily cars are nothing but a scam. I see the very expensive cars spin, but I always and only get the same cars I already own (I know some of you get the expensive cars, but I'm telling you, "I" never got one) and I can't even sell them for credits.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of negative things, but these are the main ones that kill the experience for me.

Please don't quote to criticize my point of view or suggest me things to do. I've tried everything and the bottom line is: I still don't like this game, period.
And I CONSUMED GT5 and GT6. And I was very active in this forum in 2009-2011.
The series just haven't really evolved for me.

I hear ya, but in reality it’s always been Grind Turismo, ever since the first one. I’ve never bought a 20m car in any of the games, it’s just not worth the time/effort needed. :)

If you couldn't get 20 mil cars in GT6 then there's some issue here. With the login bonus and seasonal's, I was pinned at 50 mil forever.

Not played it for months, still having too much fun with Driveclub time trials and challenges.. something this game is severely lacking ( and no, circuit experience don’t count )
