Well. im not an exelent driver and in not level 40 in both A-B specs.
but the game got pretty boring to me.
i got all the cars i wanted. got gold on everything i really tried(?tryed?)
and traded in the market section of the forum for the last month, even tried tuning for drag drift and stuff B-spec is very boring for me.
my question is is there somthing fun i havent done? or it just goes like this?
i mean i wont stop playing it but i will play alot less.
what more can i do on GT5?

Do you drive with driver aids on?

Have a dash with ABS and TCS turned off.

If you haven't tried it yet using the cockpit cam with all of the HUD off is pretty fun. Really helps ya get into the fun of driving.

I so don't understand people like you. Either you like to drive or you don't. Either do it, or don't.

Don't play A-Spec at all. Go online and race.

Or don't.

I second the cockpit without aids idea...its crazy how much fun it is, especially in a fast car. You need to pay attention to the sound of the engine, and remember what gear you're in/should be in...makes it much more immersive.

Try that!

I'm kinda with you... I'm level 40 A and B, I have three accounts, I've just been at it so hard since it first came out. I have recently found myself on for just a few minutes at a time.

I use to say to myself that I was bored with GT5 (got the game on launch day, nov 24th 2010) and finally got a wheel in december 2011, man, now I cannot stop driving stock cars with it.

G27 is awesome.

There are PLENTY of things to do. Try Photo Travel/Photo Mode, and take photos of the best or funniest races. Drifting, do an endurance race etc. Challenge your self to race with Sports Hard tires instead of Racing Soft. Try manual transmission! Hope this supplied you with ideas. :)

Online clean shuffle rooms are the most fun I've had in GT5.

I'd do so much more of this if the online mode wouldn't be so damn unstable for some reason. Shuffle lobbies are the best, I just wish you could shuffle even more powerful cars than what you can now. :)

I personally dont see where's the fun in GT5 when you drive with no abs honestly. I have tons of fun in FM4 wiht no abs however it's just not made well enough on GT5 on pad for my taste. You have zero feeling, hell I got more feedback when I drove a truck in real life. No SRF and TCS is kinda fun tho.

tried(?tryed?)

Tried.

Edit:

Really? I learned to drive in a car with no ABS... and I don't think GT5 has a problem with a lack of feel. A lot of games feel similar without using ABS and I use a DS3.

Thank you all! i will try racing wit aids off, racing online, with cockpit camera, try to master drift and other things you guys wrote.

No SRF and TCS is kinda fun tho.

I'm sorry, but I'm a horrible driver. Ask Pyxen. But from day one, I've never ever driven with SRF. Why in the world would anyone even dare turn it on?

The only time I drive with TCS is with very very twitchy high end cars. I don't drive them often. I'm a horrible driver, and on the four occasions that I've tested it, I'm faster without TCS.

car of the week was a good idea, very good idea as they planned it. but some how in MY opinion was some how got messed up. i think it should be or a car from OCD or the regular dealerships so every one can test it right away.

Level 40 3 times over don't mean anything when you come online. The guys on there don't follow a race line and they don't go hot or cold.

Racing offline is for practice. Online racing will bring out the man in you trust me. We will see how stable you are when a guy is breathing down your neck and pressing your brakes before you do lol.

Don't loose faith man. New tracks and cars will bring you back to life.

thats pretty inspiring! :D
i dont like racing online mostly becuase i ruin some other guys laps i try not to hit them and try to avoid crashing and stuff but mostly dont work out for me.
i hate when people dont race clean and i dont race clean so...

O N L I N E . . .

Much to do. GT5 lives forever (Untill GT6 comes :p)

And if your tired of racing same old GT500 or LMP or road cars 550ish pp.
Then do a couple of DIRTY races Untill u get tired of that and go back finding perfect setups to beat the GT5 24/7 players. failing many times but it does feel so good if u do win :)

To find some good rooms Turn off Skid controll in the Host Search online lobby thingy.
I enjoy Nordschleife 470-550pp road car only races, No freakin penalty on. Just use your brakes and take it easy if your chasing someone. Youl overtake or make mistake eventually :)
Just a good host that kicks the dirty unfair players and try make some friends whit people that host nearly every day and your off . (sorry for grammer)

You ALWAYS will be faster without TCS. TCS works on a bell curve (picture it in your mind). TCS doesnt kick in until you pass a point on the other side of the apex of the bell curve (meaning you already started loosing traction from the "optimal" traction location.

It does take experience to find that point yourself as a human. Many people can find that spot before the computer in the car can catch it.

I am not a great player either but I manage to land in the top 1500 from the Online TTs when they are in and I care to run them and ALL of them I turn TCS to 1 or OFF.

SRF is a joke. I disagree with it on so many levels but if anyone chooses to use it it's up to you. It makes the game "easy".... Most online lobbies ban that aid and usually only allow ABS.

Me I drive usually all aids off and ABS - 1 (sometimes TCS 1-3 depending on the car).

Another thing for the OP, try seeing how far up the leaderboards on the Seasonal TTs you can get. If you get on the top 10 on every one then you should be bored... if not, keep trying....

I've been driving using the cockpit view and everything off but abs, including the driving line, map, gear indicator, etc. It's hard, but a blast!

I just finished a 3 and a half hour stint online racing the game.:)

If you are bored with this game you don't like racing.

We had a great room with much bantering and good praise shared by all.

Looking forward to the next time I will be able to get online for some more great fun!!

I have had the game since it was released and it still gets my heart pumping.:)

Just a few suggestions ....

online racing
online racing with low grip tires
Touge racing ( pretty much the same as above but due to the tracks and it beeing 1vs1 its slightly different )
try tuning ( not only for dragracing but grip tunes and drift tunes to )
try beeing the underdog ( for example don't use the nsx bmw m3 lotus elise in 550pp rooms like the 50billion fanboys out there ) get a bagger ride
Try entering a racing series
Try Wangan ( no idea how it works but the video's are fun to watch :p )
Try the photo or video section of these forums , i am clueless on how it works but some guys spend hours with it and the results are amazing .

or try this

~Japanese Auto Celebration Shootout~

as a testdriver or if you want as a tuner ... so many options , and you don't need to be a world class driver , you just need a good additude and sence of fun :D 👍

You can also go to the tuning forum & try some of the tunes on normal cars. Guys like Praiano, Adrenaline, VTRoj, Harvey Wallbanger, etc. have some real surprise finds. Like McLaren says, you'll find some real gems.

Same here, I'm also quite bored of GT5 no matter though I haven't reached Lv. 40 in either A-spec or B-spec, and haven't played it much except when I felt like filming new snaps at the locations of photo travel...

However, I bet the events listed below are funny after having almost all the things done.

Online shuffle races
Participate online lobbies
Seasonal events(Not for money or cars but for racing helmets or uniforms of different pattern you don't have, also the events themselves are alterative in several weeks)
Arcade time trials
Go to the photodrive/phototravel section to make your newest shots.

Online Enduros. I've been hosting a bunch lately, if you can get a decent amount of people in the room, its great fun! Only problem is at least 2 people will quit after a few laps in due to the race being to long and their limited attention span.. But if you can get a group of real friends, GTP friends, or just some good randoms, it's a blast. I won a 20 lap race in Suzuka wet yesterday, it took just under an hour, we started with 6, finished with 4, but quality over quantity.

Why does people use SRF ? Because it makes you goes 2-4 seconds faster per lap depends on tracks/cars. TCS I have no idea but still some people use it.

And why you seems to thinks I ask to turn it on, I said turn it off, I dont understand why you're even quotting me since you think the same as me.

Oh and btw, online shuffle is the best fun in GT5 for me, even if I'm on FM4 atm.
