Hello guys, I've been thinking about buying a sequential gearbox from Fanatec for my g27 and I wonder if it is compatible with g27.
By the way how do you think will be the driving wheels in GT6, better, equal or better than in GT5?

I don't know if the Fanatic shifter is compatible, but either way, I'd recommend getting the Thrustmaster instead. Brilliant and extremely high quality, for a very fair price. It's been a while since I last checked Fanatics products, but when I did, their shifter looked like a cheap plastic toy. Nothing like their wheels and pedals, which are supposed to be amazing. I don't think you'd have a problem using the Thrustmaster shifter, as it is a seperate unit.

Edit: Just decided to check up on Fanatec's website, and it would appear as if they've added a proper shifter to their line-up. As such, my original post isn't completely accurate.

Still vouch for the Thrustmaster shifter though ;)

£400+ is "very fair"?

You gotta be pretty serious about gaming to spend that much on a console, let alone a peripheral.

I've had the Fanatec GT2 and V2 pedals.. now I have the thrustmaster T500RS - TH8RS shifter and I would NOT go back. There are add on rims for this wheel too!

That all depends on your budget Wolfman. There are quite a few options for you to choose from. High end seats like the Humanracing GT Chassis right down to just the original Playseat.

Regarding wheels, I use the Fanatec GT3RS VII with the Clubsport Pedals and it's fantastic. I got a really good deal on it a couple of years back so just went for it. By all accounts it's not as good as the Thrustmaster but I grudge paying that much for a wheel that I will only use for one game.

You're confusing the price of the shifter with the price of the wheel/pedals. The shifter doesn't cost anywhere near as much. If you read the OP, you'd see that this is about shifters, and not about wheels.

there is a hardware sub forum.

maybe there you'll find the answer.

What he said.
