Hi all, I'm saving the Vettel Challenge videos so I can hopefully put them on YouTube to share with friends/help people out. How would I get them on my computer? Using a USB stick? I have exported them from the actual game to a game data file. Would I just copy it into the USB?

Thanks for your help.

They are data files, not video files. They will allow GT5 to reconstruct the replay but contain no video or images whatsoever. You can certainly transfer them to PC with flash drives - to e-mail them to others, for example - but you cannot view them as videos nor upload them to Youtube as videos, as only GT5 is capable of reading them and reconstructing the replay.

The only way to take video from GT5 is by capturing the video signal directly with a video capture device.

Please use the search option, as there's already a good amount of threads on this topic. The file you have exported to the XMB, is useless. All it containt, is instructions for the game. It is not a video file. The only way to get videos of GT5 up on YouTube, is to use a capture card.

"Edit" BOOM! Beaten to it.

Basically what Famine and Jawehawk said. Capture cards are reasonably priced if you look around

youtube implemented on GT5 where is it? the Japanese will shoot the crap -_-

My guess it that they really wanted the feature in the game, but simply did not have the time. A lot of things were cut due to time constraints.

I believe Kaz said it was too big.

We already had a 2 hour install time, not to mention whatever that time is now with XL. Would you still want the feature if the install took another hour?

Some say yes, some say no, but the important thing is the feature was left out. Hopefully, Sony and PD can come up with a way to create a more feasible way for this feature to work, as I'm sure many would use it.

The game on launch took 47 minutes to install. personally, those 47 minutes only made me even more excited. And the amazing intro, further enhanced the anticipation :).

More specifically, it would take more grunt than the PS3 can manage.
The YouTube replay upload feature had to be pulled from the final version of the game because it took a very long time to render and it consumed too much memory. Yamauchi is still considering it, however.

Personally, I think that given more time, this could still be achieved, but PD would be wise to put their resources into other things at this point in the game's lifecycle. That said, I would love to see something released as a PC app so that we could render the files ourselves. A modern PC should be able to do this easily compared to a PS3, should it not?
