Is ghost launching cheating when your opponent is not ????????. Some say yes some say no personally I say yes just keep the same method then no argument and a fair race BTW I am talking about online drag racing.👍

what the hell is a ghost launch?

I think it is cheating but many times the people who ghost launch don't have the tune to back up their car so ghost launching is their best alternative.

And... What is "ghost launching"? Because I'm visualizing something involving a catapult...

I still dont know what it it is though.

ghost launching is always a little quicker then regular

usually reaction time is quicker to press(ghost) as oppose to releasing(regular) a button

if my opponent ghost launches, ill do it to

people with bad reaction time usually like ghost launching

When is it used and what do you release? >.<

there is a method to have your car rev like its ready to launch but the car is ghost because you are in the menu.

to make the car launch, all you do is press the start button

as oppose to normal drag racing method of holding the brake/ebrake and releasing it when your are ready to launch

Ghost launching is a tactic where you have a car become ghost (hold handbrake and press start) and use it to work like the tree at a normal drag race

i wonder how many more people will post on here without actually saying how it is done.....

Nevermind, different thought process.

Basicly in a drag race two or three race and the "green light" is a player pressing start and going half transferent

I have to say i dont think it is cheating but i also dont really think it is racing seeing as you arent driving and demonstrates the same amount of skill as a road kill badger when it comes to dragging seeing ALL the tallent comes from the launch ones you are on the line so if you get the PS3 to do it for you then it isnt you doing it. I dont think i would take any pride at all from a win like this.

I've never tried it so I can't say yes or no. I have both Left and Right 2 triggers set for Brake and Gas to launch.

i think it's fair if both players are doing it, i hate having to hold the regular brake as opposed to e-brake on FF cars, my reaction time always suffers so i'll usually ghost launch because of it

Webster's GT5 Dictionary: Ghost Launching: n. Lining up next to a 1/4 mile drag race opponent while your car is in ghost mode, making your car lag and launch 1/2-1 second sooner than your opponent. Frowned upon by the general drag racing community.

This would only work if you go off the timer, like 90% of drag racing lobbies use a ghost. Which sucks for those in anything but a 4wd car, or a rear wheel drive car with a great net connection.

I frequently drag ACRs and Ford GTs and net is 60% max. Never experience any problems when launching via e-brake.

What is it?
When you lineup next to your oppenent:

Hold acceleration at max revs then hold the brake button and press start to go ghost, when the tree or time hits press the start button and the car launches strong.

Personally, I don't race people who do this because they are a waste of time, slow etc. anyway. Also I warn people in my lobbies before they get kicked.
