If you are gifting a friend to help them out, the F40 the highest value re-sellable car from the new car dealerships. The Saleen S7 supposedly has a higher resale value, but I haven't happened across one yet.

If you are helping yourself out, you would probably make faster money by grinding Indy Track in the American Championship then buying and tuning cars to win the seasonal bonus races.
