Wow, I want one! I haven't watched the vid and probably wont (56k) but those stats are really great for a kart.

That was pretty neat. Seems like a death machine because it doesn't have a rollbar, but I guess you could always add one. Amazing acceleration.

Looks like awesome fun to drive. Those tyres looked pretty ***** after that run.

Yeah,i saw this about 2 years ago. It's still amazing how fast it goes.

heh, I was expecting some professional kick-ass (well i guess it still is kick-ass) kart but instead it's this little homemade podunk kart with a dirty engine in it (at least it looked dirty to me, he was wiping it off at the beginning). Still, it's super fast.

Two new inmates at the home for the Mechanically Insane...

Those just aren't right.

Holy hell!!! Would that thing even turn, ever?
Nah, I dont think it really even has a "throttle" so to speak. Its powered by superheated steam and oxygen (I think...) resulitng from the chemical decomposition of H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). So once you start, better make sure you are ready for the whole, full-power ride :D But for going really fast fairly cheaply and with complete disregard to safety, it can't be beat :)

Do superkarts even go that fast?

Superkarts go faster. I'm pretty sure the fastest speed for a superkart on Sears Point was 168 mph.

By the way I've been 80 mph in my go kart. :) 👍

First of all the video quality is crap, so I couldn't see very well (I think there was a shot of how the exhaust melted the rear tire...)

Second, the bloody thing is so unstable, it's all the driver could do to keep it from spinning out every time he hit the gas.

All in all, a nice stunt, but a little on the ridiculous side...

Sorry, I couldn't do but reply 💡

The composition you speak of is the same used to propel the Space Shuttle etc, we're talking about fluid oxigen reacting with fluid hydrogen. It's not steam and oxygen :)

However, considering this is what got us to the moon it's no real wonder this thing has an output of 1500hp :D

This is not a rocket. It is a turbine. While we got to the moon by combining O2 and H2 to generate water (2H2 + O2 -> 2H2O)...this is a completely different process. Hydrogen peroxide is decomposing into water and oxygen (2H2O2 -> 2H2O + O2) in the presence of a catalyst and restulting gases are powering a turbine, which in turn drives the wheels. It is not a rocket at all--the kart would still move forward if the exhaust was pointed straight up.

Maybe not trottle but you'd have to have something slow it down i.e. a clutch. I think it said it was getting that wheelstand with 25% throttle so I assume there is something like that.

New video on the site (well, new to me anyway). The first few minutes are the guy welding/building the kart up but the last few minutes are crazy

You gotta respect people that have NO interest in their own well being. Racing that thing in jeans and a shirt.. I'm fairly sure a leathersuit would've been my first priority :)

Crazy Crazy germans !... Still a good clip though - and impressive as well !....

Oh man, what a trip, I'd love to have a go in one of them.

Mad Respect for taking it to the 'Ring though, wonder what time it posted.

Just noticed... The new video doesn't feature the Gixxerkart but a new creation...

Duh. The two-seater XX-er. The gixxer is the one that goes before it (and peels out) in the runs, though.

Also, is it Jixxer or Gixxer? my dad says Jix but I say Gix.
