My friend has a 300 straight 6 f150 with one and I'd call it ok as long as your not piping it up all the time. Honestly the gm ford and dodge are the reason the v6 i can't stand v6's. Bad reliability low performance and awful sound.... Hmmm I'll get something else. The euros and Japanese do it right however.
SlashfanI had an old Bronco II with a Cologne V6 in it and it sounded like poop in general...
300 I6's were made for working, not for the sound lol. They are bullit proof motors that never die.
Agreed. My auto tech teacher absolutely loves the things because they won't blow up. He's always bragging about his old one that ran for a half an hour when he turned it in for cash for clunkers(hate it) when the dealership blew it up.
SlashfanHow the hell did they managed that? My dad had ours a good 2k above the limiter (have aftermarket) and it didn't blow, it just smoked like a mofo. Started it up the next day and ran like nothing ever happened.
Then again getting it there was really hard...

Bah, anything gm and v6 should be kept quiet. They have a very distinct sound that is terrible by nature and I don't really know why. The ford ones aren't much better and I've heard a glasspack on a 3.0 and it was painfully bad.
There are a few Ford units that sound pretty good, IMO
