Glitched LFA Exhaust. Finally with video for proof!

The LF-A has a high-pitched metallic exhaust note (in real life). The changes they made gave the exhaust a more high-pitched metallic sound.

Listen at @ 2:15.

Sucks if you don't like it but I definitely think it sounds like the current GT5 LF-A.

No no no no nooooooooooo.....

SIGH! I GIVE UP!

The new LFA sound is still higher pitched (than the one in that video) and has an electric girgling sound to it.

I just give up. I'm done. *dies*

lol dude, i agree too man. Pre 1.05 update, the LFA does have a much more meaner bite to it. Unfortunately, when i had a racing exhaust fitted on one back then, i didn't notice the difference in sound. I just bought one a week ago and noticed that even stock, it sounds different, more "high pitchy" than the growl pitch in that license test. there is a difference :)

LOL, no I understand it's not perfect but I think it's closer. It's still a video game sound and not as accurate as the real thing, but I definitely don't think the original sound was as raspy/metallic as the real life LF-A.

The sound of this car at 0:45:

And the sound of the LF-A (post 1.05 update) at the beginning while he's revving:

seems like they're almost identical in pitch at redline. And the raspiness of the first vid at 0:45 seems like the metallic gurgle you're hearing in the vid you posted.

Don't die man.

Gran_turismo i completely know what you mean. it sounds more "electricy" now, where as before it had a much nicer exhaust note, like the real life one.

Here you go guys. I made a video demonstrating the problem about the "new" and inaccurate LFA exhaust sound effect i've been getting for any LFA since the 1.05.

Tried everything within the power of my PS3 to get rid of it, but its not going away unless PD fixes it.

So I ask again. Is anyone else experiencing this?

This is what the real LFA sounds like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yjTfJc67iw&feature=related

This is what GT 5 LFAs sound like stock before the 1.05 update: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cexyX0PUhs

BTW don't know how to get the embeding to work.

You did a system restore and various repeated updates to fix something which quite frankly is barely noticable?

OCD much? Get a new hobby champ.

It wouldn't surprise me that an exhaust sound is off, but seriously?

There's much bigger and global glitches and bugs in the game that PD need to address (when they're finally starting to normalize over there in Japan after that disaster) long before they fix the exhaust on one of over 1,000 cars in the game.

(Oh, and the LFA's exhaust is far from the only exhaust that sounds wrong, at least based on the plethora of threads here about it.)

Just my $0.02.

Peace...

So caring about how a car sounds in a car racing simulation game is OCD? Ok then... champ.

I heard that a certian update was supposed to change the exhaust sound when equped with a turbo

The LFA after the 1.05 update sounds more realistic than the pre-1.05 because the LFA is supposed to sound high pitched.

I could find atleast another 100 that sound a hell of a lot worse.

But restoring, and re-updating something which was obviously changed by a software update is a bit over the top.

The sound you posted is of a car at a standstill, in neutral, with a mic right behind it. Why would the GT5 LF-A sound like a motionless LF-A with a mic shoved up it's tailpipe?

Exactly: OP is comparing apples and oranges: PD recorded sounds assuming most will only care about the sounds of moving cars. An engine under load with exhaust being affected by air turbulance will always sound different than the same car idling and reving engine without a load: which actually isn't very good for some engines. Maybe that real life car sounded the way it did because he revs for spectators too much lol.

I think someone needs to seek counseling.... seriously this is such a trivial issue... something more sinister would be the Pagani Zonda R and it's exhaust note after you work it..... at speed you only hear road and wind noise, it is one of the loudest cars ever created. Much more important then a lowly overpriced limited run new model Supra....... yes I did just go there.

How this stands out above all of the glaring issues in GT5 amazes me. If anything, the LFA is one of the better sounding cars in GT5 (relative to its real life counterpart).

But anyway, I guess I can notice a bit of a difference in the two videos, not sure that it's really a glitch though... Each to their own I guess

It's not a glitch.
A glitch is when someone tricks the game to do something it's not supposed to do.

Not necessarily. A glitch can be a frozen menu, a missing texture or sound effect, the all-to-familiar intangible bit of wall on a track. Basically, any unintended behavior of a program can be considered a glitch.

not even.. sounds better before patch.. actually, sounds ACCURATE before patch..

Provided idk why he doesn't change gears (lol you kinda have to ignore it) but still, after patch:

THANK YOU Corpsey! Much better comparison between the game updates. Now people can HEAR the difference and understand what i'm talking about. I'm going to use your videos as references.

I understand the sound inside and outside the car is different.

The sound is different, but I don't know which matches the real car. Do you have some video of the real LFA?

your vids were fine and mine are being used on this thread elsewhere, just as links.. I would like to get this fixed just as much as you do D:

Well inside the car you can hear the engine is just muffled (because of the console and windows reducing the noise); there is a difference behind the car as opposed to in front of the car, when the car is in motion, because of the doppler effect though.

Also, go to the part in those GT5 vids where hes actually accelerating at a good pace (200kmph) because his idling and gear changing is just awful.. he states on the youtube site that he just wants to hear the sound of it over-revving so whatever. Though, even the over-revving noise from the new patch is a totally different tone, it's quite clear.

Boo hoo, let me play you a sad song on the worlds smallest violin...

GT isnt a spot on racing simulator okay? Maybe youd also like to ask them why some of the trees are flat, or why the steering wheel isnt an actual circle. I think the LFA sounds fine, and if these minor faults have sparked enough conflict in you to make a thread about it, just dont use the LFA.

You don't find it a little stupid that they would change something that had been working fine before the patch? Maybe the sound was just copyrighted by lexus, so they told polyphony to change the sound slightly so it wasn't entirely accurate.. who knows.

Pretty sure we are all aware that the sounds in this game aren't exactly accurate on most of the cars.

Could've just made a general statement like... "GT5 car sounds are unrealistic." or something along those lines.

I noticed this the first day I bought the game, a lot of generic sounds, especially when you slap on a racing exhaust.

Especially some of the V8's... They are pitiful.

That makes ZERO sense. PD already has the rights to the LFA so why wouldnt they want the sound of their car to be accurate, especially worse?

that's what we're trying to figure out....... seriously I don't know I was just throwing some possible reason out there, you know what would be nice? the answers to everything, that I don't have :\ besides if you read the damn thread and watch the damn videos, the sound WAS fine and then they changed it for some reason.......
