Glitched LFA Exhaust. Finally with video for proof!

Gran_turismo i completely know what you mean. it sounds more "electricy" now, where as before it had a much nicer exhaust note, like the real life one.

Exactly!! The new sound after the update really sounds like a video game, before the update it sounded much more like a real car.

I was always under the impression that if I had a proper surround sound setup the sounds might be good, but in general GT5 sounds are crap on my typical TV speakers only setup

I noticed it too, But I think theres a factor you havint considered. Is it possible that you have installed a full racing exhaust then removed it? For some cars even when you remove the full racing exhaust, It still keeps using the sound of it even when you are back to a stock exhaust.

Hehe. No. Its the stock exhaust sound. In my video, I'm using a completely stock LFA, that i bought specifically for the video. Nothing was purchased for it. Anyway.

I'm glad to see people are noticing now. I understand that some cars may have inaccurate sounds, but this is the only car I noticed that was completely changed and I have been making a big deal about it for months but nobody really cared until I finally made a video in this thread. lol

I just hope it gets fixed is all. I love the LFA exhaust sound. Tis a shame not to hear the correct music notes. :(

Thank you again everyone!

Fair call. That eliminates that possibility...GT has always had completely laughable engine sounds. FM4 will be out later this year. If enjoyable engine sounds are your thing :)

Your video 2 is probably not a good example because it's in the tunnels which is a different acoustical environment than open air sound :P tunnels will cause sound to reverberate, altering the net sound.

It sounds better after the patch, more like the real thing.

As someone earlier in the thread said, in real life the LFA has a high pitched exhaust note, now this is reflected in the game.

It sounded good before the patch, now its even better/more realistic, isnt this what we want from our favorite "driving simulator?"

No matter how much true of a sound that PD can duplicate you must remember that your trying to listen to something through a Set of surround sound speakers. Nothing beats actually hearing that exhaust sound with your own ears out in the open. What you have done here makes no sense at all, this thread should be locked.
When I heard Alonso's Renault in Regent St some years back it was nothing like what I heard on the T.V. The sound was deafening and pure because it wasn't put through a set of speakers.

Get real DUDE!!:dunce:

The tone of the engine may be more realistic, being a higher pitch. But the way it's delivered, sounds too fake after the patch. It used to sound much more like a car before. The new sound just annoys the 🤬 out me.

Listen to the sound in videos 2,3, and 4. You will hear they sound generally the same.

Then listen to video 1 and 5 and you will see they sound NOTHING like the real or previous LFA before 1.05. There is NO similiar between the exhaust sound to the real thing after 1.05.

Unless you're deaf, you can clearly hear a very high pitched (higher than the real LFA) electric girgling sound coming from the exhaust in the LFA after the 1.05 update, which is NOT present in the real life version or pre 1.05 version of the game.

What the heck is wrong with some of your ears?

I give up on some of you guys. I thought this would help, but seems that PD defense force is strong here. Dang.

I don't see the issue here. In all those clips, if I wasn't told it was an LFA, upon hearing the sound I'd know instantly it was one.

IMO the LFA in GT5 before and after this supposed 'glitch issue' is the most realistic sounding car in the game.

In the scheme of things, with all the things wrong with GT5, this must surely rate at the very bottom of that very long list.

Or maybe it's because, driving the LFA with my 7.1 home theater blasting, I'm very happy with the sound and can easily identify it as being an LFA.

Honestly, you're picking poor videos to compare, most of which have been filmed with a cam off screen (and/or in a tunnel, partial throttle, revving in neutral, etc).

You say it sounds "NOTHING" like the real LFA. I think you're making too much of it. If you can't enjoy the LFA now and honestly cannot identify the sound as coming from an LFA, alas, you may have to move on to another car. Other than repeatedly saying an "electric girgle" (it's gurgle by the way), you can't identify how it's different. Honestly, the only thing that sounds like a gurgle to me is the metallic raspiness that I hear also in the real LFA exhaust.

And really, it's just a video game. It was not 100% accurate before the patch and it is not 100% accurate after the patch. It will never be 100% accurate. For any car. Because it's a game. Not real life.

Seriously, sorry if you can't enjoy the car or game any more, but don't get mad because you're not building an angry mob over this.

Well IThinkBeyond, the sound is off but what do expect? It GT, the sounds are almost never correct, so this is no big deal to me.

+1. This is one of the few things i think Forza exceeds GT5 in.

I notice it..... But one question? Why do you care so much? Do you own one in real life? Sorry but I don't see the problem.

The after vid, there is NO WAY you could tell thats an LFA just on sound alone. It sounds like freaking Mario Kart. Some of you guys need to get your ears checked. Face it, the exhaust sounds in this game need ALLOT of work.

Seriously? Listen to the sound here at 2:15 and then listen to this. There's no other car it could be, I don't understand how someone can't identify that as an LFA.

Check out the youTube video "Lexus LF-A a symphony of sound"

I got GT5 live on the 5.1 surround. And the YouTube vid on my laptop plugged into the 3.1 The sound of the real deal is a lil raspier like every real note compared to in game. However it's pretty spot on. I run through a few gears in game then play the vid, pause and repeat. PD did a great job hats off to them. The sound gets uber sweet with a full racing exhaust (stock tranny so it's not drown out by the gearbox) raspier and nasty. You do need to get out the car and listen from the back as windows and sound deadening quiets it down, lol.

I'm on patch 1.08
