I'll start with the 3 that have annoyed me the most...

1. Sound lag, hammering along a road heading towards the readline, guess again, you're on the limiter loosing speed but this annoying little bug makes you think you've plenty of revs left!

2. R32 GT-R, NO FREAKING SOUND, apparently Nissan were pioneers in electric car technology, Tesla, who's that?

3. Why oh why oh why were the bodykits that we have had in FH1 no longer around in FH2, no it's OK Playground, I'll just have 3 Escort Cosworths that look identical because the rally kit's have vanished, want to make an Audi Quattro Group B replica...tough!

ugh....

1. You have my vote for the sound lag. Absolutely infuriating because it happens with ridiculous frequency.

2. After the end of a race when your car pulls past the two other cars to park, sometimes the wheels have already stopped turning but the car is still moving.

3. Occasional hiccups where the game hangs for a second

4. I rarely play in 3rd person view, but why are the cars so quiet in that view?

5. "In 400 yards, turn left" typically means, there's a sharp right, and then after it is the left turn. Useless.

6. What's with all of the awful livery suggestions for each car? All of the good ones (with high popularity) are hidden away.

7. Why can't I mod the car I purchased for the next road trip?

Not really a bug, but one of the things I've found most annoying thus far is that you can't exit out of the wheelspin, particularly seeing how easy it is to accidentally get into it. Happened to me a few times now, and I had to do heaps of wheelspins I really wasn't in the mood for (I tend to just collect them while I'm racing, and then do a whole heap at once).

Ugh! I know there was something else of major annoyance. I'd really love to be able to stay at a location and do more than four races at a time, without having to go somewhere else or the festival in between. It's fine like it is until you've completed the second finale, but after I'd really prefer it if I could race as much within one location as I feel like.

They really ought to manage the car you use for getting from event to event a little better. If you're driving a different type of car to the one the championship you've entered requires you have to sit through an unskippable message from Ben telling you to choose the right car. Then after the event the game dumps you in whatever car is on the left of your garage choices which could be one from a couple of events ago.

The fact that you're usually miles from the nearest hub doesn't help. I'm not sure why you can change tuning setups from the menu but can't change cars anywhere else but garages either.

Anna is the first time I've really used Kinect and I wish the voice response were less temperamental. My neighbours probably think I'm even madder than usual if they can hear me through the walls shouting "Nearest Event! Nearest Event!" at the screen trying to get it to register.

Completely agree with this. I mean, it does say you should get used to the car you're going to drive in the next championship, then why make it so difficult to do exactly that? Sometimes I actually pick location, championship, and then make a car choice, then back out of it all, go back to the garage, change to the car (purchase if need be), set it up as I want it, and then go back to continue the road trip. That's an awful lot of effort just to be able to drive the car you are going to use in the next championship. If I can't be bothered, I just pick the championship for my road trip car, and then change it all at the destination hub.

Strange how much of this stuff is XBone-exclusive. In FH2-360 you can replay any event you've completed at any time, in any car. There are never any entry requirements for a championship, just ten "divisions" to check off for each event. You can switch or purchase cars at any time from the menu; you only need a garage to paint or modify (I like this). Road trips are not a special compulsory thing, just a suggested destination on the map (like a barn find), and after you unlock all of the events there are no more road trips.

Here are some for FH2-360:
  1. Excessive tire grip which makes lesser-powered cars relatively "meh" to drive
  2. Removal of some engine swaps; for example, you can't do anything with the Beetle (or Typ 2) except add a turbocharger
  3. Quiet engines; volume can be rather inconsistent between models
  4. A few glitchy "landmine" spots (again), including a near-unavoidable one that spoils the eastbound freeway as it's passing Nice
  5. Restricted shortcuts in Head to Head races against AI -- if you're too clever, the game will forcibly reset you and you won't catch up again
  6. Certain map assets have been slashed down more than seems necessary for XB360 -- vineyards look like they're dotted with small shrubs, and at least one has invisible obstacles that Sumo Digital neglected to remove

Yeah, there isnt any requirements on the One, other then you cant use your Ultima GTR in the Cult Classics championship. Just things like that. We can not replay events, which I'm not sure why..

This one is a bit odd considering we can swap in a 6.2L V8 and make damn near 1000 hp out of it. Its not like the 360 wouldnt be capable, so I find it weird.

One major disappointment, which I've stated before already, is that I cannot map keys.

I'd love to use 'default layout 11' and have the ability to switch views on the fly without pausing. But no, someone, somewhere in PG decided "They don't need that function, no. Just map Rewind to Y instead!" and "Let's do nothing with up on the D-pad other than Photomode! (which is hold up and not just regularly press up, which annoys me).

Has anyone else had this bug where your XBone just refuses to start up FH2? It gets to the point where the game shows you images of the various cars and you have to press A to enter the game, and then you get stuck on this screen with the game saying "Loading...Please Wait" indefinitely.

I've had it happen twice to me this week and the only way to solve it seems to be to turn off the console and unplug it.

I believe that's an issue with the Xbox One itself, not Horizon 2. Happens to me at least with other games as well.

Oh, was just thinking of another bug. At least I think. Had the Drivatar setting on Pro for a while, then wanted to get one of the Championships out of the way I really didn't want to do, so I just took an eligible car stock and switched it to New Racer to get through it quickly. Well, what can I say, I got my ass kicked by Clark Duffy. Absolutely no chance. Second was the best I could manage. Quite shocked I was. The payouts were definitely for New Racer, and I double checked, it was at New Racer, still, I got my ass kicked. So, I went and put the drivatar difficulty up one, just to see how much more difficult it would get, and it took me about three corners to get ahead, and eventually I won by miles. Championship was easy as after upping the difficulty. Anyone else ever had something funny like that?

As much as I love the online roadtrips, I sorely miss more specified lobbies. Sometimes I'm in the mood for infection, or king, but the majority of the time I just want to race.

Sometimes I want to race S2 cars at blistering speeds through winding country roads, other times I want to take small low-powered cars and bumble around a course with a bunch of people, and sometimes I want something in between, but with the road trips it doesn't matter what I want, it matters what the people in the lobby I just happen to land in want.

The simple fact that I can't say "Hey, I just made this S1 class Viper and tuned it really well, I want to try it online" and then go try it online isn't just disappointing, but extremely frustrating. I have a large garage full of cars that go unused because when I do get the class I want, I have 15(seriously?) seconds(:censored:ing really!?) to choose a car suitable for a host of events I'd really rather not be playing to begin with. Sure, the road trips are awesome when I just want to jump in and race whatever, but the thing about a car game is that a lot of people know what they like and what they don't, so forcing people to endure events they can't stand to push a game mechanic(one that could have been executed better*) just kills the fun.

And that's a damn shame, because, aside from C and D class cars(due to the problem @Wolfe pointed out about grip), the game is...just about as perfect as I can imagine, aside from bugs that come as standard with any open world game. I love the way the cars feel, and I love the way the game looks and sounds, but the fact that I need to spend an hour playing game modes I don't like in classes that put me to sleep just to be able to drive my Viper once just draws all the fun out. I'm entirely bored with the game at this point, and photomode, the only thing that kept me playing, now has the big ugly Forza Horizon watermark. At least the Forza 5 one was subtle, this is just ridiculous.

*And by better I mean they should have made the time limit to reach the destination much longer after the first driver, because the entire point is for it to not feel like a race.

I've found a really unfortunate bug, mostly limited to the Hypercar class, but also more hilariously affecting the Cult Classics and other similar categories (360 version): the rubberband effect of the AI is so ridiculously heavy-handed that it makes GT look sensible. In the Hypercar class, where my only car is an X-class P1, the need to make some of the AI faster still means things like the LaFerrari accelerate at such a rate that they'll pull 20 car lengths away from me in a span of two seconds, when we were both starting at around 100mph. That's just stupid. It means my Hypercar races are knocked down to Easy difficulty just to try to catch the rabbit, and I've even needed Rewind a few times because the AI's responses get so hyperactive that they swerve all over the place, taking me out at random times. I've never really had that problem with the AI before, and don't in slower classes.

The fun bit relating to this glitch, is the Dirt class and Cult Classics, though. I've got a heavily-breathed on Raptor and maxed-out Capri for those, and I guess it's confused the game, because it gives the AI even more grip than I have to compensate, and it means Wranglers and Civics are flipping over as soon as they dive into the first turn.

When you enter in something like a stock Willys, the Ford Raptors and such simply crawl around the course to give you a chance to win.

I've also upgraded my Willys with Race Tires and other parts but kept the stock suspension (because off-roading), and like you said with those AI cars, it can roll over on command. Diving around Sisteron hopping over stairways and things, while popping up on two wheels around corners, is some of the most fun I've had with this game.

Yeah that happened to me once. Also it seems like this game has a lot of freezes, I've had it for a few days and it's frozen five times. I don't remember that much freezing since gaming on PS2.

I'm really burnt out on the map already. It's tiny and has no variety. You build a fast car and want to top it out so you take it on the highway but it takes less than 2 minutes until you're out of highway... I never feel like exploring or anything either. If you dropped me in a random spot and asked if I was in Italy or France or near Nice or Montellino... I would have no idea, it all looks the same.

Otherwise this game is fantastic. The selection of cars is wonderful and doing conversions is a lot of fun. And these are great car physics to have in an open world game.

My major complaints for the Xbox 360 version of Horizon 2:

- Not putting every car from FH1 in FH2 despite the 2 titles sharing the same game engine. Due to this, there were a lot of great cars and quite a few manufactures left out of the game such as Peugeot, Ascari, & Citroen. If this was intentional to make the Xbone version look good (which wasn't necessary at all), then shame on Turn 10!

- Making the payouts too low, the most a player could earn in horizon 2 without the assist bonus is 24,000cr and that's for the finale. The finale in Horizon 1 gave a player 50,000cr for winning without an assist bonus and not to mention the street race events that could reward a player even more than that. Sure, the prices of the cars in FH2 are cheaper and you can get a 10% discount perk, but that barely helps. This makes FH2 an even bigger grind fest than Horizon 1 and that's really annoying when you're trying to collect cars.

Yeah, the credit amounts is what really makes FH2-360 feel like a grind fest. And it is one. Of course, the lack of Affinity doesn't help much either, since it makes upgrading a hugely expensive affair. On the plus side though, upgrades aren't really needed compared to FH1, since you are always paired off with cars comparable to your own. I did the entire game in the Z4 I had in the start, before buying all my other cars post-Finale.

Considering the crap payouts for everything including Rivals, the idea of getting the achievement for a $20 million garage seems exhausting.

Going through, mastering the different hubs, it's become pretty apparent that very little testing was done with the AI. I've had some ridiculous accidents happen with them, the most notable lately being the longest race on the coast at Castelletto. There's a right-hander near the start where the pack never fails to run wide and wedge themselves into the side of a building. In case they miss that, they make sure to plow through another right-hander at the top of the climb, straight into the wall. Brilliant.

Xbone:

Having completed nearly all the standard hot hatch events (thank you 2012 Mini John Cooper Works GP) I'm glad to see that you can replay events with a different car but not so glad that we have to sit through another lengthy announcement from Ben warning us that it won't count towards that third finale that we will PROBABLY NEVER SEE.

My game does lock up with Amiga-like regularity forcing me to replay the occasional race but that's only mildly annoying compared with the unskippable repeat audio messages I'm forced to sit through every time you turn up with the "wrong" car for an event.

If no more bucket lists are released via DLC after the second one it'll be a big disappointment for me at least.

Edited to add: Man, couldn't they even have waited 'til the end of the race I was in to force me to take their upgrade? Stupid upgrade. :indiff:

Another problem I have with the 360 verison, you only get 2,500cr for leveling up. Why? Why did Sumo or Turn 10 think that was a good idea? A player should be able to earn more than a mere 2,500cr for leveling up. Especially in the higher levels. The Xbox One version gives a player the wheelspin feature while the 360 user gets squat. Once again, shame on Turn 10!

I'm not sure yet how I feel about the "grind" in FH2-360 -- FM4 and FH1 showered you with such a flood of cash that it all seemed meaningless, so at least it's not a repeat of that. The 2,500cr reward is pretty useless, though.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer but here's my contribution to the thread.

  • Haven't received a single daily drivatar payout
  • There are so many cool cars from FH1 that would have been a perfect fit for FH2. Case in point, how many convertibles are there in this game compared to FH1?
  • I'm not asking for a handout but an increase in race payouts would be nice.
  • What is the point of having a club if you can't share or gift amongst friends and/or club members?
  • Why did they get rid of lobbies?

Aside from all of these complaints, I still think T10 and PG have done a fairly good job with the game. I understand that people will always have something to complain about however, most of the complaints on this forum and others are all valid. Many of the complaints we have are all issues that should have been fixed a long time ago. Although the payouts suck in this game, it makes owning the more expensive vehicles a little more worth while.

Which machine are you using? The Xbox One version is pretty generous with money but there aren't any drivatars in the 360 version.

I came on for the first time in two weeks. I had a couple of daily payouts waiting, one was for my drivitar entering in 890 races

I bet it was still only worth 20,000 credits or so. :D

My only complaint is the game still hangs up and quits on me, and always at the same place. If I finish a road trip in Nice, the game will freeze and quit while road tripping back to the Festival. It even does it at the same place, on the Autoroute going through the tunnel NE of Nice. It happened to me three times in the past week.

Floating trees LOL.

One other complaint, I can't sell a car for money. I can only remove a car and that's what I call ridiculous.

I tried to play tonight and I got thisView attachment 271560
Happend with FM5 too. It just stayed on the loading screen.
Sounds like a glitch (ie lack of bandwidth) on the Xbox Live network rather than in either game if both are affected. I also got this last night in FH2 but rebooting the console fixed it.

[EDIT] Looks like this has already been covered in the main discussion thread.
