Which generation may I ask?PovertyOh yeah that reminds me I saw a camaro today when I was driving about. Its ugly.
YSSMANWow, I missed a lot today:
1) Jaguars are awesome, and they have greatlly improved over the years. I would definately call the new XK a "poor-man's Aston" with the new shape, and I have to admit the new blue/silver color makes the car have a rather striking stance. It's a pitty however that Jaguar still has not completely done away with the J-Gate shifter, and doesn't offer my favorite Jag in the US: The XJ6...
2) Aston Martin is currently building the world's sexiest cars, hands down, no questions there. I can't think of the last time the generalized looks of an entire company have stirred the same feelings within me... They are just, well, perfect... Not too radical, not too restrained, and yet completely British in their look and personality. If I won the lottery, you can bet I would be on the next plane to London to go order myself a new DB9...
3) The Cadillac XLR (and XLR-V) really are the only true American GT cars on sale today... Why? The concept really isn't an American thing. Sure, we build 2+2 coupes, but those are called Muscle Cars, so our specialty is building cheaper two-seat coupes. I'd say the XLR is more than a reasonable choise against the SL500, and even the XLR-V to the SL55, but unfortunately for the two of them, they have to compete with the likes of the Jaguar XK8 and Aston Martin DB9 Vollante... I ask that you give the XLR SOME credit for being the first truely compeditive GT (or whatever you want to call it) against the Germans and the British. Its kina like throwing the Mustang in against the Messerschmitt and the Spitfire... It may not be well liked, but it has proven itself...
4) Whats up with the Camaro and Corvette bashing? Again, these are two American icons who have established reputations as great automobiles in the US, and in a few other parts of the world. The Z06 is undoubtedly one of the best supercars you can buy, albeit for $70,000. As for the Camaro, well, sometimes I think you have to be an American to like the car... IMO, it was always better than the Mustang, and always will be better than the Mustang... But growing up in a Chevrolet family does that to you, but I will still give credit where credit is due, and we all owe a lot to the Mustang, no questions there.
skip0110Which generation may I ask?
Ram-RodFord. Ford. Ford. Did I mention Ford? Don't ask for an explanation, please, you'll get an essay.
neanderthalthat JDpower is bull poop....
...H2 hummers were constantly given bad ratings by thier new owners for having bad fuel economy. you buy a 6000lb box and complain about its fuel economy?WTF?
mercedes "quality woes" are not mechanical. but electrical. too many electronic gadgets in the cars have been failing. something mercedes conceeded a while ago by promising to simplify its electrical accoutrements.
that whole survey nonsense is to be taken with a big dose of salt.
*McLaren*What Ford needs to do is sell some of its overshores' models here.
Cause let's face it, the F-150 and the Mustang are Ford's strongest point, and practically the biggest reason they're still around.
I guarantee you if Ford lost the F-150, Ford would be screwed, Mustang left or not. And then there's those reports of SVT going away.
Of course, the same said can be said about Chevrolet's Silverado, but then again, GM would still have whole 'nother set of manufacturers to sell cars.
YSSMANMy want list:
3) AU-Spec Ford Falcon, preferably the XT6 and GT models
