Yeah. I don't care about using my Hotmail account for MSN, but I hate getting emails sent to my Hotmail account. Gmail is definately number 1 for emails. 👍

I got Gmail the other day, so far no complaints.

I havent recieved my 6 invites yet, but no big deal. The Interface seems just as simple as the Yahoo account I used previously, but without all the ads and such.

I hear that once google gets a decent amount of Gmail users they are going to start charging for new accounts. I take this to mean that my account will still be free?

Anyone still got any invites?
I haven't heard anything bad about G-mail, and 1GB would be good. If even if I just use it as a storage point between how and school (my floppy disks suck/printer won't work).

Well yeah, I seen he asked, but it still doesn't mean it's exactly thriving. I gave ExigeExcel an invite already, so he'll be fine, although he's probably got them from other people.

It is over though, I mean there's not many threads on forums everywhere asking for invites, and it seems alot of people have it now.

Do your invites go away after a time? I've had Gmail for a couple months and I used two of the six invites but now it doesn't show me as having any.

Yeah, sometimes they disappear. Also, they changed where it told you how many invites you have from above your Inbox, to below that edit box on the left hand side.

Also, Jon, if you need an invite, PM me. Same goes for anyone. I'm more than happy to invite people.

Can't you import contacts now? My Gmail has a new feature that lets you import Contacts from Outlook, and also I believe MSN and Yahoo...

All my contacts are on MSN/Hotmail.
And I don't see how to transfer them anyotehr way across apart from putting them into a CSV file format which would take aslong as any other method.

There's a new feature on Gmail. It's named "Contacts" and it has a little "NEW!" icon next to it. It's on the list to the left of your inbox. Click that.

I switched over to GMail a few weeks ago. I transferred everything over from my Hotmail account, and then found out that my Hotmail was bumped up to 250 megs. I'm switching back, since I like the Hotmail format better.
PS - If anyone need envites, don't hesitate to PM me.

Hey all... I've had gmail for a while now, and I just found out that you can use it with MSN messenger.

Here's how, if anyone's wondering:
1. Go to www.passport.net
2. Click on "Register for your free .net passport today"
3. Enter any information required, and in the part that says "E-mail address" (the first one, not the second) use your gmail address.
4. When you've done that, login to messenger as you would with a hotmail/msn account.
5. When you first enter, messenger will ask you to confirm the address that you're using. Just follow the instructions, and it's all done.

After all that, you'll still have to import/add all of your hotmail contacts into messenger. It works just as opening a new Hotmail account.

Yep, alot of people have been doing that, although I don't want to, I can't be bothered changing, and getting half the people I want active on my list, not adding me. It happens. Plus, I like cleaning up the crap I still get through HotMail anyway, as some of it is important-ish.

Thanks anyway, Carlos_23.

Of course you can, you can even import your hotmail list, just save the list you're using under your hotmail account, and open it once you're logged in through your gmail account. One huge shortcoming of gmail is: only webmail, and another shortcoming of the hotmail-gmail combo is you can't surf to your inbox through the regular link the same way you can jump to your hotmail inbox.

Thanks, I've been wanting to know how to do that.
