Yes, I understand you. And if Gran Turismo 5 helps ONE man relive his youth by allowing him to recreate his teenage car, then a livery editor is a huge success.

Also, it turns A yellow Lambo, into YOUR yellow Lambo, rims were step one, now lets make the cars unique and not 'just' beautiful.

You, sir, understand how a livery editor can be epic.:)

It's not about creating The Simpsons family on your hood. But rather, it's about recreating OR reliving memories from your youth, or from whenever, into the game itself. That connects you to the car on a deeper level than in previous GT titles.

Unfortunately a lot of the community's memories are going to be anime characters.

Damn, I didn't think it was a big deal when I heard about it, but playing Forza 3 online, oh man.

But if that's what they want, so be it. I may have no connection to anime, but surely others have. And I cannot control that. But fortunately, we'd be able to create what is most meaningful to us. So at any rate, our designs are unique to us, although we may disagree with the creations of other players.

Rewind is cheating.

I'm sure it does suck if you loose a race because the AI bumps you off the track at the last corner......but that's the game your playing. If your just going to rewind time to 'put right what once went wrong' every time something happens then why the hell play the game at all?

Just my opinion.

You raise an interesting point.

That's it, it is final. Racing cars should not be modified (read: upgraded, not tuned) in any fashion, whatsoever.

Why?

Because it's cheating, right?

Some of the half-assed logic that keeps being brought up is just that - half-assed. I suppose PD should just re-calibrate GT in it's entirety because surely people don't win F1 vehicles, or other such vehicles for winning a race. I suppose that's cheating too, huh? Why should I be rewarded a car for effort, when I can spend up to millions of credits on that same vehicle?

Unbelievable.

Indeed, but to be frank I want a decent rim shop, and maybe add some spoilers and skirts, this level of customization you're suggesting demands the inclusion of custom pics to make decals and things like that, It would be cool, although I wouldn't spend too much time on that. However, the same rule applied to rewind in my opinion applies to the livery editor too, I would like to have, I probably won't use, but a lot of players would love it, so bring it PD. 👍

Options, they're responsible for making of a game a true success or a complete crash-burn. :sly:
Not necessarily. Forza only has decals of the sponsors involved with the game. Everything else has to be made from scratch. I wouldn't mind being able to import pictures from the PC though.

Im cool with that, as long as mine is the best looking they can put Daffy Duck on the hood for all i care.

Tools are given to you, not taste.

^So there's only one kind of "taste"?

You're damn right. You can expect a whole lot of them from me :sly:

Your really going to compare upgrading a car.... Something that is possible in the real world (although may obviously violate the rules of an individual event) with rewinding time........ I mean really?

Doesn't that show how weak your argument is?

If you can just rewind time to correct any mistake you make within a race then why the hell even bother to race....instead of a rewind button why not just have a button you press that automatically wins the race for you. It's the same thing.

The point of the game is to see if you can drive your car around the track faster than everybody else. Do you really want gaming dumbed down to the point where every little mistake that somebody makes can just be rewound? What is the point of even playing at that point.

Like I said why not have a rewind feature in Fifa 10 so if somebody scores a goal against you in the last seconds of a game you can just rewind time and put in the saving tackle next time.

Why even bother playing.

Am I the only one who's liking the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG more and more everytime I watch that trailer? It's a mad car.

No doubt man when i first saw the car i really wasnt feeling it, however seeing real footage, and GT5 trailers im starting to really want to drive this car. It sounds great to!

There's a replay from CES where one SLS is following an F1, the roar of the SLS is huge, it seems to have grunt despite of being light and agile. It will be one of the most pleasing cars to drive for sure.

I'm crazy to drive one of it too, the third car in my GT5 first rides list. :D

It will be fantastic. I've never been a huge Mercedes fan but the SLS is a really nice car. I just hope it handles well too.

Not one bit. Considering, again, that all race cars have their specifications bound by FIA regulations and must run that way until the succeeding year...and even then very little changes are made. That's beside the point, for you (even in a game) to modify the specifications of said race car is cheating because you can't do it in real life without being automatically disqualified. Why? Again, it's cheating, no?

Or, is it because it's a video game does that not really matter?

I don't know if you've noticed, but that feature has already been introduced several times over. It goes by the following names: B-Spec, Drivatar, Hired driver, AI, Autopilot, etc, etc....

Welcome to the party.

Which brings me to the closing of my statement: you do realize that when you're racing with human players rewind is actively disabled, right? It can only be used when you're racing against the AI. Also, allow me to add to that whenever you do use rewind your lap time is invalidated.

Why even bother playing?

I could name several reasons back-to-back-to-back, however, I'll keep it simple and name only two:

1. It's a video game.
2. Video games are supposed to be fun. If I wanted to experience real-life for what it really was... I would, oh I don't know, drive a real vehicle.

I like the look of it as long as the doors are closed. The mirrors are mounted on the doors, so when open it looks like the gull's got thumbs, which kinda ruins the look for me.

As a machine, though, I love the thing, since I love that 6.2 AMG V8, and this has the ultimate version of that engine.

I have God of War 3 but I haven't popped it into my Playstation yet. Where can I find the GT5 trailer when I boot this baby.

In the XMB video tab.
But only if you have the US version afaik.

Is there somewhere that trailer in pure 1080p raw video to download?
Because I would like to download it and put on my PS3 and watch it on TV.

Same here, can't find one :guilty:

There is a 720p video at PD's site

There's a full HD version available on GTTV through Prologue.

...or you guys could catch this trailer on Playstation's official YouTube Channel...

Oh, it is on PSN? I think you mean on the USA one, because on Europe I couldn't find anything.

I will check it out when I will launch my PS3 again :)

I wonder why there was no GT5 video on the EU GOWIII disc? not even on the EU PSN?? If I´m not wrong, GT sells best here in the EU? But they still don´t care about us...

I´m sure that many people here haven´t seen that trailer... If I were not here on GTP, I would have missed it too...
