Ok so some people may find this pointless but a game like GT5 is very challenging. And I don't have some of the stuff other people out there have like steering wheels and all that because I am broke. Now I haven't even gotten a single silver on the vettel challenges and recently found out you can glitch them. As tempting as that sounds I'm thinking of not doing for the simple reason that it's cheating. But I can't for the life of me do it.

And then there are the other challenges like the iA-1, iA-3 etc. which are hard as hell to do in a DS3. So what should I do? :P

Set the sensitivity thing to max. I Golded all my licenses with Sixaxis. Still have trouble with a few Special Events though.
 
I play on 7 with all assists off. That's what pissing me off! Should I use a assist or something? :S
 
It's super-hard to do with a controller, so I'd cheat too if were to bother.
 
I think glitching the game is wrong and you shouldn't do it in my opinion
 
You should be able to complete the licenses with just the TC switched off mate.... I've done it once on my old account, and will do it again with my new one. The only thing I did have at my disposal was the RA menu for adjusting the brake balance ;)

Other than that, good luck my friend, your gonna need it :)
 
Alright... Then I'll just focus for a week or two in this challenge and see where this takes me. I swear if I can't do it after a week of trying over and over again I will just glitch it cause it's ridiculous how hard it is and the thing is I do not have all the time I wish to invest in it sadly.
 
You can glitch the Vettel challenge? News to me.
 
Yeah you can. But you gotta be in the 1.10 update.
 
You can only glitch it by deleting some of the updates which can have all other kinds of side-effects like losing DLC, so I'd say no but it can be done on a normal controller (I did it!).
 
Actually you don't lose your DLC. You just gotta re-download it. I have had to delete my game files several times cause of some issues with the game so I can tell...

No. All stuff you buy from the PSN you can re-download it unlimited times as long as your PS3 is activated which it is.
 
What would be the point. Every time you look at that Platinum trophy you would know that you cheated to get it and don't deserve to have it on your own merrit.
So you could lie to other people and say you earnt a trophy that you didn't?

Just think how much greater the sense of achievment will be if you actually earn the trophy.

Well guys I started with monza! Did a 2:04:543 but can't seem to pass that gold. :/

For the Vettel Challenges you should have skid recovery force on and I think I had ABS around 9.
 
ABS in 9? wow... that's a lot :sick: isn't it better to brake at the last second by using both emergency and normal brakes?
 
I would think using the e-brake would lock up the tires and makes it take longer to brake. Try 9 out, the worst that can happen is you don't like it. My other recommendation is to not use bumper or cockpit cam, movements seem too snappy to me from those views. Try the roof cam, it helped me keep the car under control and run the lines I wanted to.

I used the third person view... Gives me a full perspective of my surroundings.
 
Well hell... I did a 1:55 on monza :0 Wow I still can't believe it... Now that I remember I still used traction control back then when I did the challenge... Also I didn't use skid recovery force. Damn the Red Bull handles a lot faster with a TCS at 0 and the SRF on... I still can't believe I did this time with a DS3. I used the video with a comentary posted on that forum topic that mcfizzle linked... Now I can't wait to try suzuka and currently I'm doing the nurb.
 
The problem with having the controller sensitivity at a high is that you always turn too much..
 
I turn by moving the analog slightly always and will apply more and more pressure as needed. I don't punch it all the way to the side. If I did that I would be using the directional pad instead.
 
ABS 9 is an interesting idea. When I did these, I left ABS off and found it to be completely impossible to lock the brakes at all, but I seem to be reading a number of people lately recommending higher ABS values for the X2010 challenges. But then I didn't bother trying to get gold. I got the bronzes in an hour or so(mostly spent on Suzuka) and figured I'd come back to it later but I probably never will, it's not much fun.

To the question at hand, I'd say don't glitch. Trophies are stupid and meaningless, at least as long as they hand them out for watching tutorials or changing clothes or activating custom BGM. So no sense in having something with no intrinsic value constantly reminding you that you're a dirty cheater ;) . The licenses aren't too bad, just a few tricky ones. If you can gold the X2010's nothing else should stop you.
 
Well I just golded Monza but people are telling me that's the easiest one of the 3. I was trying the Nurb and I missed gold by 5xx milliseconds
 
I found that the higher the ABS was set, the later you could brake on entrance into a corner.

Thanks mcfizzle! :) I wanna see if I can retrieve some ghost or replay or at least a lap log. I forgot to save the replay. :/
 
For pad - nothing helps more than ABS1, I know cuz I golded Vettel on sixaxis and I used ABS10 and then ABS6 and then ABS1 and great improvement.

Good luck on Nurb, you'll need it.
