I think all cars Oversteer though the Lancia Delta Evo which is 4WD over steers like mad.

Funny, I haven't had any problems with that one what so ever :)

But the Golf oversteers more than the FR cars

Had to sell it and buy the Alfa Brera instead

I personally have no problem with the golf. I am driving Full H-Pattern + Clutch on a G27 and after 20 mins or so of a little bit of spinning I learnt how to drive it properly.

You just have to be very smooth, use up all the tracks and take up a nearly perfect line. I found it kept you on your toes and aware of whats going on :).

Found it ridiculous, so I sold it :)

I agree. The Golf in TDU2 just sucks. It would snap oversteer like a MR car!

Sold and bought an Alfa Romeo Mito, much better!

Dude, the GTI in this game is worse than any MR car I've driven in GT5. This is mega frustrating. Guess I'll just go get the Alfa Romeo. That said, whoever QAed this game and was like, "Oh yeah, that's exactly how a GTI would drive." Should be slapped.

Lancia delta is one of the best handling cars in the game, GTI is horrible though. But guys you cant expect this game to get the physics right on a car, it is futile to expect as the game is not capable of such calculations.

Its an arcade game and the only difference you have in handling is this

1. How much grip does the car have in the corner.
2. How tail happy is the car
3. How likely is it that the car can be saved by user input.

Then they slap a few of those numbers together on a car and bobs your uncle, there is your car model.

Doing one of those A7 championships with the GTI wass a HORROR!

What is up with those time trial times? And this time there were 2 time trials so I couldn't just leave the one time trial for the end and be far enough ahead to afford to lose.

I must have spent an hour on that stupid time trial. The worst thing is that it's not that the race is so hard it's the the handling is so @$#! bad.

Brake while turning and you spin out even if it's a soft brake.

It's like driving a car with ABS 0 and terrible brake balance.

Racing these cars really highlights how bad the handling really is. When you're cruising around it's not as noticeable.

Moving the brake linearity setting all the way to the right helps a lot.

Braking while keeping 75% throttle also helps.

Basically drive it like you drive the Lotus in Top Gear Challenge in GT5!

They must have gotten the numbers wrong then :D

I am very disappointed with this game as the cars over steer so much. I recently got a Subaru WRX STI and it will under steer then all of a sudden go into a spin :grumpy:

In the end I learned to drive slowly which in this game will still give you the win ;)

Um, the game was never advertised as a simulator or a simulator-type game. It's purely an arcade racer so the handling isn't going to be based on that of their real life counterparts. If someone didn't realize that when they bought the game, Eden can hardly be blamed for that.

If you want simulation, then GT5 or Forza 3 is the way to go.

A simple guide to help you along.

C4 - Lancia Delta
C3 - Ferrari 308
B4 - it's all good
B3 - Mercedes ML 63 AMG
A7 - Alfa Romeo Brera italia (this sucks too, just not as much as the golf or the slower alfa)
A6 - Nissan 370Z or Subaru Impreza, i took the 370z as its more powerful
A5 - Lotus Evora - Obvious choice since you win one and it has amazing handling
A4 - Audi RS6 Avant - Other choices are among jaguars and aston martins that handle like ****, the Audi is one the best handling cars in the game
A3 - Ferrari 612 - Caterham is untouchable on tight tracks but the Ferrari handles really well too while topping at over 200, making the top speed type events easier.
A2 - Ferrari 458 Italia - Nothing compares
A1 - Mclaren MP4-12c has the best handling and is cheapest (Atom will do it, but suffers major due to its low top speed, try it by all means), but there are much faster choices, if you wanna spend a lot of money then put it on the Zonda Cinque, or be like everyone else and buy the straightline rocket ship Bugatti Veyron.

lol, I'm tired of everyone claiming that this is an arcade driving game. I don't know what type of arcade game you're playing where you can buy a bunch of different cars and have houses, but God damn, you'd be in the arcade for like 20 hours.

Yeah same haha what a POS! I just can't hack it doing the races on there man, the handling is so...crappy and....scary? I mean it just decides to go the totally wrong direction when it wants to!

Other than all the bugs/crappy-ness I bought a GTR and i've managed to rack up 300 miles of JUST crusing!
not unlocked A2 races yet haha but, at least TDU2 still has the 'cruise' element to it which does make it enjoyable....be it the only enjoyable part of the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if VW hear of this and force an update from Eden, as the handling is so far different from the safe brand image of VW and it's their biggest icon, Beetle aside.

I've played the game for a few hours. It's not bad. It doesn't seem as good as the first TDU though. I think the off road driving is pretty fun. I'm just glad they didn't charge $60 for the game.

I'm pretty sure when someone calls TDU2 an arcade style game, they are more than likely referring to the vehicles handling characteristics. They are not simulation, aka arcadey. We all know the cars in TDU handle like ****e. Like previously mentioned, if you want a realistic driving experience, go back to GT5 or Forza 3.

What kind of excuse? Yes sure they will not focus on getting it 100% but they should try. It is like saying it isn't a full sim so lets max out the Veyron at 10mph and the Delta at 100000mph!

They should atleast get a standard for each class cars.

Is not a question of arcade or not. The handling of the Golf just seems so strange, especially compared to the two other FF cars.
I was in no way expecting realism on the level that GT5 provides, but the way the golf takes corners can in no way be based on any earth-based physics.
It takes corners like the old 911's for cryin' out loud
Isaac Newton would be pissed if he saw this :-)

I just destroyed my controller because of this car. Oversteeing, bad braking 🤬. I threw my controller on the floor then stomped it into the middle of next week, it was a right dead space stomping episode as well!

Woah mate. You should have read the reviews. Good job you wasn't throwing a G27 out of the window.
Take a look at the TDU 2 forum for a good giggle.

Sorry to hear about that controller. R.I.P.

Bigbazz
Golf GTI handling changed with todays patch, it was not so bad when i drove it earlier, very easy to drive.

Hi Bazz. Could you elaborate on that. Is There a handling/steering wheel type patch?

Thanks.

If there is a patch, why couldn't it have come out yesterday! I wouldn't have been a controller down.
