With the latest update we now finally get onboard cameras on our standard car, and some cameras are better then the others. For example the first standard one I tried was my BMW V12 LMR '99 and the camera was very good, the FGT is good as well. But then I tried the Minolta and my Audi Red Bull Touring Car and they were both a nightmare. The only thong visible was window openings and mirrors, the rest was all black. In the Minolta I couldn't see my own driving gloves.

So which cockpit cameras are good and which ones are bad, please share your findings so we don't do anything like buy any cars thinking they will be fun with an onboard only to be disappointed. Also what is your favorite standard car onboard to use?

Also is the Audi R8 LMP onboard any good? I want another good prototype with a good onboard. Any suggestions?

Triple posting, nice. Anyway, all the open top cars like the LMPs are sweet since they're already detailed, the others are okay, some better than others due to window visibility.

The only thong visible
:p

The only standard cockpit I've tried to far is the BMW V12 LMR and I agree with you, it's a nice view. The worst I'd say is the Sauber Mercedes C9. It's just two curved lines blocking my entire screen, it looks more like a glitched TV screen than a cockpit. :ouch:

Chap 2j and peugeot 905, the 905 is blacked out but once your inside it works, the 2j is possibly one of the best new ones

Lol, screw you Bill Gates!!!! Who was the idiot who put the "i" and "o" next to each other on the key board. He probably set that up on purpose

That wasn't intent I just came back and put stuff when I remember, lol. I always feel like a tool when that happens. And would it be a low blow I o mention I'm a big Tigers fan? Saw your Yankee icon, lol

tho

Wait do you mean it takes time for it to start working on the Peugeot 905 or that you get use to the black

Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01 is a good one. Cool little car too

I did find the Caterham a little disorienting. It was kind of like driving while looking out the side window.

The Prowler is pretty cool. I kept hitting corners too hot because I was watching all the little dials move

Audi R8 (01' i think it is?) cockpit looks alright but the detail is noticeably lower than on something like the premium audi R10, it still looks good though.

Yesterday I was used to the black "mask" around my view after 5 laps, in the LMs Toyota Minolta...

The Suzuki looks good indeed :) Maybe tonight I will test some more cockpit views of (open) standard cars

Try the Toyota 7 or one of the Pescarolos. They are not bad as well. Depends on what car, really. If you try one of the standard Skylines, you get a helmet view(in my opinion, it looks like you're wearing a helmet. But any open standard cars have nice interiors.

I hear that the Prowler is pretty much a premium car. The only open top car I have is the Caterham Seven Fireblade and it's mad cool from the interior. No dials work, but at least we have some decent interior views now.

The 2004 Pescarolo wasn't that hot even though even though it's an open, just very flat and pixely

I can't remember if it was the R89 or R92 Nissan LM car but it's an elipsed window, kinda reminds me of looking through the rear window of a VW Beetle, completely unusable! Even worse in the rain, think I might just draw and cut out my own from a massive sheet of paper and stick it to my tv! Big turbo gauge in the corner, half leather dashboard incorporating the dials, how hard can it be? lol >:0)

black cockpit or open top, i love them both, Love the point of view and the sense of speed, that's what keeps

but man the sauber...jesus.

Yea the Sauber and bentley are bad. You should be sitting way lower for it.
We need camera adjustment and FOV adjustment. The 2 necessary things in racing games.

The Jay Leno tank car is nice as far as the steerig wheel, but the rest is all pixelated. Although, i can agree that the point of view is what matters. I've actually been drifting my 240Z lately.
