No, that's what I meant, code_kev, that just cause Lambo's part of Audi, doesn't mean that Ferrari will be included cause it's part of the FIAT group and the other manufacturers are included.
 
Oops my post wasn't very clear. I meant to say that it happens quite often, when companies who have their cars in games, own other companies that have deals with other companies (ie MS, Sony, what ever). If that makes sense lol.
 
You know, I didn't really mind not having the feedback - but the wheel was really poorly made - that's the problem that I had with it. Both stations where I played had very loose wheels. Not loose as in rotation, but loose as in it almost felt that if pulled the wheel towards me, it would come off the hub.

That said, I did play it on the pad and it was a decent experience.

What a great idea to buy both ps2 and xbox! :D

it looks pretty good... its got Nurburgring Nordscilff (or sumthing) too and you can modify your cars (rice AND race) so im am so getting it... and i am so getting gt4 !!
 
I admit there a several good sims out there that have nice FF effects, but even then you can really tell the difference in the effects when you go from game/mod to game/mod.

Not to say they don't do a good job, but none of them are probably all that realistic. Though the best ones do usually give a better experience.

You gotta think about it. The game selection is smaller than your Game Boy Advance games...

And Project gothem Racing 1 & 2 also promised a simulation to didn't they?

And the graphics suck more than GT1 and GT2 combined.
 
As far as the technology goes yes it's better value for money, but the PS2 is the better buy because it has the largest choice of games and they arn't that far behind in graphics and the gameplay as with any console can be better or worse, but there are games on the PS2 that I would buy a PS2 for if I didn't already have one, theres not one that would tempt me to buy an X-Box, PGR2 nearley did and Forza Motorsport might just be the first but thats not due till 2005. All this is just my opinion though, my tastes differ from other peoples like Code Kev's and if he thinkg PGR2 is the best racer out and good enough to buy an X-box for then fine thats just his opinion and prefference.
 
I agree with L4S, not only PS2 has the largest library of games for itself and do include all the PS1 games too. :D

The only thing that the XBox have over PS2 is the DOA: Xtreme Beach Vollyball. :lol:

But Forza look to be very promising, I hope it will not end like Sega GT 2002 which it turned to be a dissapointment.
 
Ign has a new hands on of Forza.

This stood out for me.

I mean this is what I hate, some stupid little fanboy who thinks the PS2 "pwns" because mummy bought him his first console, a ps2, so everything else sucks. He doesn't even look at the bigger picture, he just hates because he doesn't own. I've said it once, I'll say it again, all 3 consoles have games worth buying them for, here's a small list...*these are just games that came to mind*

PS2

Ico, GT4, virtua fighter 4 evo, squaresoft games, devil may cry, and loads more

Xbox

Halo 1 & 2, pgr2, forza, rallisport 2, fable, kotor, jade empires, doom 3, ninja gaiden, and loads more

Gamecube

Zelda and the new Zelda (looks INCREDIBLE), res 4, smash bros m, metroid, and more, but im not up to date with GC games :(

I hope this helps the fanboys calm down, all console atm are ace, we are no longer in a time when crap like the atari jaguar gets released. You really don't need to slag off another console just because it's games are just as good, shhessh!

The largest library of games doesn't mean the best, take the saturn vs the playstation, there was NOTHING on the ps1 to touch panzer dragoon saga.
At least people like liveforspeed can put across their opinion with out talking crap. btw liveforspeed, don't resist it any longer, just buy one, owning both is just...awwwww so nice, halo 2 AND gt4, can't wait :D

I think Darin was winding you up Kev. I'm sure he knows GT1's graphics arn't a patch on RS2's.

From the pictures, I think the city track with the Toyota is Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Can any one of our Brazilian friends confirm?. This would be a beautiful city for a track

Some of the pictures are looking very good to me, especially the GT cars.

The picture of the GT One, I think, doing a burn out looks paticularly good.

I think the posted picture of the heavily modded and garish car is the worst picture.


There's also a couple of new GT4 pictures(don't go into fit if they're posted somewhere else). One picture of a Renault 5 in an Italian Piazza looks stunning. Doesn't show the car moving, but it is a bit nice.;) :) :)

Gran Turismo 4 may be the only racing game I'll have and play this year. I mean, I'm spoken for.
 
Let's face it there is NO WAY IN HELL Microsoft could possibly make a game with 600 cars and 50 x 2 tracks and still charge under £40 for it. It just doesn't happen. Unless of course...

Forza seems like it might be an ok racing game, but just looking at graphics I can say that Gran Turismo kicks its buttox (considering how most of the graphics in GT3 were better than what I was just looking at). As far as I know there is no game that truly can compete with Gran Turismo; it's just the best out there (and I'm glad that there are no international technological monopoly rules; as Polyphony is putting several companies out to dry). Just thought I'd add that Gran Turismo is also insanely popular because it rides on the most popular gaming system in the universe; Playstation.

And what scares me is that he comes from the same place in the world as I do. Im sure Essex people aren't really that dumb.:(

But about the game: Looks good, I don't have an X-box and don't plan on getting one but im sure it'll be the best racing game on X-Box by far, even though it won't really compete with GT4.
 
The stupidity of some posts stuns me as well sometimes. :eek:

The graphics of GT games have always blown away the competition at the time (and after) they're released, but if you buy games purely from a graphical point of view, your an IDIOT.:crazy:

If you limit yourself to graphically nice racing games, you'll only play a GT game every 2-4 years. :(

You'd also be missing out on quite a lot.

Let's see what Forza Motorsport plays like, and of course looks like nearer its release. If they try their best to copy GT and add something original, it won't be that bad.
 
Amen, imitation being the highest form of flattery and all that ;)

Graphics do not a brilliant game make, Forza may have some of the most fun racing we've experienced, we don't know. As long as they don't tout it as a GT killer they'll do fine.

As for all the PS2/Xbox fanboys, that's nice. I have a ball. Perhaps you'd like to bounce it.
 
I am sorry to have caused offense with my ashamedly stupid last post. I am fully aware that the xbox does not deserve to be tarred with the same brush as Windows and respect its abilities as a powerful home console.

At the time I worte the post I was enraged at the fact that a game to rival GT was coming out by microsoft, but now that I have come to my senses, i realise that this may not be a bad thing, as if the game comes out on the xbox,it could well come out on the PC, which i would very much enjoy, partly because i have a PS2-Gamepad USB adaptor ;-)

When Forza comes out, whenever it might be It will be interesting to see what the game is like. However, saying that, I still maintain that i have no intention of buying an xbox.

Once again I aplogise for the stupidity of the last post :O :O
P.S. I still have trong doubts that Forza will be better than GT4.
