This year the trip was a little different. Nathan (Roo), Brett (Race Idiot) and I all decided to go to the event together. Well, it wouldn’t have been possible for me to get there without Nathan coming to pick me up, so I thank him for that! :) Brett decided to come a little way from London to come pick up a spare free ticket I had, which was for my father (he had a painful back, so he couldn't come). Brett turned up late (like usual :p), due to poor luck. He hit traffic due to an accident on the M25, so he didn't meet up with us until at least midday.

There were lots of different cars here this year. I tried to limit the amount of thumbnails in here to the ones that were significant or different to the last threads, but pretty much 75% of the photos I took are in here anyway! I tweaked a few of the darker pictures in Photoshop because they were a little washed-out, but in general I'm pleased with them. If anyone does want a photo in its original size (9 megapixels), then do feel free to ask.

I managed to take quite a bit of video footage from the start-line, but the visibility is rather poor, so I'll have to sort out the good bits from the bad before I upload those. More footage was from the paddock, where a Nissan R90CP reverses into a Xanavi 350Z, which was quite funny (it tried to run over Brett, but I missed that :O). There's one of an older race car revving heavily (can't remember the name), causing so much fumes our eyes were stinging. We and a majority of the people around us had to walk away because it was unbearable! I'd never heard anything so loud in my life either, hence the amusement of the “noise test passed” sticker on a Nissan below! But unfortunately the video doesn't sound at all like it did... I'll upload those as soon as I can.

We all decided that next year we should try and encourage more people from GTP to come with us to make the experience even better. If you do have any interest, then please do say. The more the merrier!

I hope you enjoy the photos and videos!

Nissan reverses into Nissan…

Lola Indy car doing lots of revving...

Cars at the start-line:

Completely relevent.👍
Thankyou James.

nice one! im impressed to see a mega montecarlo there, even if they did get the date and model wrong :dopey: they always have some awesome rare stuff! must get back there again iv missed the last few years :(

OH NO NOT THE R90CP I STILL HAVE NIGHTMARES ABOUT IT AAAAAAAAAAAAA

On another note your picatures look awesoeme though, what I might try and do is post ones that you didnt take pics of because you probably did a better job taking pictures.
Also god damnit I got stuck in so much traffic that day on the M25 and on the A27 (I think I forget it was the road leading to goodwood), I still think the best R8 I saw was the one I spotted on the way tho.

Also yea it would be pretty cool to get more GTP'ers to goodwood.

Also it's the festibal of speed because thats how PD misspelled festival in one version of gt2.

I'll probably never be able to attend such an event in my life but I can't believe such gorgeous cars can be at one event! Great pictures! 👍

Seriously if you are a car person it's so awesome, it's like a car show but then you've got cars doing runs down the hillclimb at the same time pretty much all the time. Then you have the paddock areas where you can get up close and personal with so many different awesome cars your head will spin.

It was pretty awesome watching the JGTC Castrol supra being prepped by an entire bunch of Japanese toyota techs sitting next to the Merc Evo 190 DTM car which prep consists of a driver and some guy with a camera kicking the tyres. Then parked next to that is a classic Bm 2002 racecar. That was just one of the things that was awesome.

Some good pics there GT, and I like that video.

I never expected that Nissan to be so quite or tame!

One thing though, could you put a line break or two throughout your images? At present your post is about 3500px wide.

Hmmm, must be your browser.

Fixed anyway. 👍

And thanks for the comments so far.

Great pix James 👍 - which cars were you most impressed with in the flesh?

The car I keep thinking about is this RUF:

It had a special coat of paint on it as well, which was rough to touch. Sadly, I have no idea what model of RUF it is, but I can tell it must be quite powerful!

Awesome pics, James

is there any chance you could clear a bit my ignorance and let me know what each car is? Maybe a caption below it?

No way - I can't remember the names of half of them!

I should next time try to remember to take a picture of the signs above each car, or the plaques if they weren't in a paddock. It has the names on each one...

Edit:
im pretty sure thats the ctr3, +-700 hp

I'm glad one of us has got round to posting our pictures... thanks James!

I bought a program, so if there's any cars you don't recognise, quote them and I'll check the entry list.

Good stuff, apart from this bit....

There's one of an older race car revving heavily (can't remember the name), causing so much fumes our eyes were stinging.

Ya big pansies ;)

Speaking of which...

I mean we could have stood there longer but the fumes started making my eyes water. Also the sound isn't realy captured that well because that thing was looooooooooud. It wasnt turning over untill the guy threw some starter fluid down the carbs but damn that thing was crazy, one of the exausts was directly angled towards my arm and it was strong enough to make my sleeves blow about from a fair distance away.

I wish I was there because it sounds awesome but I think I'd like to try to bear how loud it was.

You only put the video code after the = in the url in the youtube tags:

TYD6hy7PFjA

And yes - that seemed pretty similar. Those engines seemed way more powerful though.

im pretty sure thats the ctr3, +-700 hp
Correct. The CTR-3 is just around a half million, and very few numbers will see the U.S. And right now, it's hard for me to gain the info as to when one will come through.
GV
the ctr is made from a cayman I believe.
While thought so, not at all really. The CTR-3 uses technology gained from their RT12 which is based on the 997. The body style is also more suited to be Carrera GT influenced. The car runs a twin turbo 3.8-liter flat six.

"1966 Lola-Ford T90 "Bowes Seal Fast Special", driven by Jackie Stewart in the 1967 Indy 500, classified 18th despite engine failure just before the finish."

So now you know.
