Is the watch race the same as the preview? - I've done that but it only shows the power output of one car... It just seems wierd that it's kind of hidden.

Yeah, stage 2 NA with a port polish.

I attached two photos from Motegi - check out the adjustable camber :)

Nice!!

See I'm thinking the opposite... I've been in a few situations where AI have been able to hold on to me in cars that don't stand a chance.

I have a 300 odd hp FC RX7, and I've had trouble catching/staying ahead of FDs on straights, even if the AI ran wide or colided with each other.

Also I was being tailgated by an Opel Speedster Turbo, when I was in the Nismo 400R GTR (probably about 500hp). This is understandable maybe on a technical section, but it overtook me on a very long straight!

This is why I would prefer to see AI power outputs...

Thanks for the input on the NA tune also 9000. Did GT3 make this visible change (to the tacho/redline)?

I spent my first few days doing license then I move onto races to complete the 25% require to join endurance races. Which race were you in when you compete against FD? My first car was a 95 FD and it max out at a little over 500 hp. I had no trouble keeping up with cars in Beginner and Intermediate. The only trouble I got was in Japanese GT or World championship where everyone else was in JGTC cars. I would win certain races then fall back in others but I luck out by edging the second place by 1 point when I won the last race. The Nismo 400R came stock with 400 hp and with oil change it went up to 420ish. The car is quite heavy though so you would have trouble keeping up with Opel Speedster Turbo which had 200 hp stock but ultra lightweight.

I lost my GT3 file and haven't play it since long time ago but I don't remember the redline being raise with NA tune in the game.

It was an FC in the 'RE Cup' that I had trouble catching the FD. It was the token pole position car though...

Both my ITR and FC are about 300hp, but even in the clubman cup I am getting beaten by about 10 seconds which is a huge jump from the beginner races.

What level do you need to be at before the races have qualifying? It's so annoying having to dodge the slower cars every race! Unfortunately I expect that it will only be the longer races with qualifying, where as it's the short 2-4 lappers that need it so you don't get stuck!

So no one has any idea why the replay intro shows a lower power output to the garage? (eg. 190kw in the replay vs 250kw in the garage)

Maybe you just getting a bad batch of AI cars.

You shouldn't have trouble in clubman with 300 hp. If you must you can try NOS for some instant speed boost but I find the gains rather marginal. Maybe it was because I didn't adjust the nozzles to full to preserve the tank from going out every race.

I don't think there is qualifying anymore I haven't seen it anywhere. I would adjust the gearings according to the track layout I presonally prefer highest numerical final drive to speed up the reving. You lose out on top speed but you gain acceleration. Is your FC and ITR modify to the max?

The clubman cup is much harder in GT4 than it was in GT3.. I got beat my first time in my 480hp R33 GTR

Proper tuning and a lighter car will do the trick I passed all of it in my first try with my FD.

This is where I'm stuck because you don't earn much from the beginner races... I've only slightly upped the performance of both my cars - obviously not enough to win the clubman. I'm kind of dissapointed that I need a maxed out car to be competitive in what is only my fifth race series in the game, and with only a prize of around Cr.3000 :( I'd rather have a 'real world' style tuning until alot later in the game.

It seems unbalanced that I can reasonably easily win the 'RE Cup' races, which are worth Cr. 5000, but the clubman is alot harder...

But still my biggest confusion is the inconsistent power ratings between the replay and garage! Is this present in the NTSC version too?

I play missions to make some quick money early on but most of the money came from Japanese Championships. That's where you'll get a nice JGTC car for future use. What are you racing against in clubman? I think the computer does a bad job choosing what type of AI cars. When I was playing european championship with my stock lotus 190r they would always put me up against ruf which was very fast.

Semerton try different event halls to win different amounts of Cr and cars, your not stuck in the Begginer and Professional halls you know. Look at the prize car list, do an event your current car can win that gives you a nice prize car and then use that for the clubman cup. You can get the Caddy Cien quite easilly.
