A rally driver's trick I found useful is to put some tape (I used the white surgical stuff from a first aid kit) around the top of the wheel in the middle so you can easily see when the wheels are pointing forward - very useful for drifting/powersliding. Otherwise, its just a matter of throttle control and the 'Scandinavian Flick'!

when i first put my hands on my dfgt was a tragedy.. i couldn't take a straight line. i got used to it in mins and it was better and better. now that i mastered it i can tell that there's no story at all. a wheel helps a lot in the fast chicanes where you have to change direction very fast. joypad steering system is "user friendly" for obvious reasons: the steering angle reduces as the speed increases, so if you have to do a fast left-right you simply can't and have to slow down. the proof is that if you are in cockpit view and while still you steer all the way left you see hands at 90°. when you are at full speed and steer all the way left the hands will be at few degrees..
