Got my Forza 4 LCE today!! Notes and gripes...

Got my Forza 4 LCE today, some notes and gripes:

1.- The M5 on Autovista appears with a red banner saying DLC?! Are they selling autovista models too now?

2.- Autovista is half usable with the wheel, you HAVE to use a controller OR kinect to use it all, if you plug a controller to the second slot won't help...

3.- The stickers on the Top Gear book are really crappy, just like really crappy...

Couple of nice things:

1.- The ring is now much better, much much better, narrower, harder...

2.- The metal case is really nice btw!!

Gotta go play more guys, let me know if you agree with my gripes...

I'm working in Mexico (I'm from California), dude, they sold it to me at a Blockbuster (here they still have a lot of those) just because the guy didn't notice he was supposed to sell it on the 11th?! :drool::crazy::lol:

He told me he had them since last wednesday?!?! Amazing...

Man, people here are so easy going, they don't give **** about dates. Just walked in, asked: You got Forza 4? Yeah, 10 copies of the LCE and 85 of the regular edition, the system says...

Oh, give me an LCE please...

Let me check... I need to go to the warehouse, hold on, don't have it exhibited yet...

Boom, guy sold me the LCE!!

EDIT.- Only thing is the carton box is in Spanish, aside from that, just a pristine American FM4 LCE :D

I'm pretty paranoid though Terronium, I just don't want to use the community stuff, they might ban me or something if they see I'm online on the full FM4 LCE, I even doubted about putting the LCE codes to download the goodies... But, WTH, just did it!!
 
Man i envy you, even though i couldn't play the game until i buy a new xbox lol. Strange input about the ring, on the videos it looks the same, i'm glad to hear that.

If it was sold to you ahead of the planned date that's at the fault of the retailer, not yours.

Several people already have copies of the LCE and I presume they're online now.

I hope Microsoft shares that way of thinking... I'm going online now!! :scared:

EDIT: Something interesting is that the "launch" pack is not recognized as such on Xbox live, it only says: "Marketplace content" and supposedly is 370.93 mb, and is only 16 mb... Weird...
 
You know what? I'll be passing a Gamestop on my way somewhere tomorrow. Maybe I'll stop in a try my luck. Of course, the guy who works there seems to know what he's doing(I know, Gamestop employees who know things. Shocking. :boggled:) so I probably won't have any luck.


I think there might be a Blockbuster near here still that I can try. They usually only hire idiots at the one near me, so I might get it. Doubt they'd have the LCE though.



Either way, I envy you and everyone else who was lucky enough to meet an employee who just doesn't care.
 
Since you have a wheel, can you look left and right?

I'm still unsure if you can map buttons or if the default setups offer this option.

Sorry if this has been confirmed somewhere else, I just couldn't find it..
 
Post your impressions of the game and what about tuning options like the aero kits etc? Do the drag slicks allow you to stagger and do skinnies up front so that it actually looks like a real drag car? I notice very little info on the tuning options. Whats new i saw on you tube where they say you can paint headlights and they have an option now for exhaust.
 
Got my LCE also. I guess my local Toys R US store here in Toronto forgot to read the memo that the game comes out this tueday. Oh well....it was out on the shelves and I was able to purchase it with no issues. :)

And btw, the game is fantastic. Time to ditch the g25 and pick up a Fanatec wheel!
 
Grrr you guys are lucky ! Tuesday really can't get here any faster. As soon as the store on 33rd opens up I will be getting it.
 
Hmmm, do I go to Sherway (I can't think of any other Toys R Us in Toronto :lol: ), or wait on Best Buy's awful "expedited shipping" (which informs me my game will arrive anywhere from Wednesday to next Tuesday)?
 
You cannot look left nor right (at least I cannot find the option on the wheel to map it), maybe it is a kinect selling strategy...

Coolest thing: Multiple class races, awesome stuff, you have to let the big boys pass by without crashing or losing spots in your class...

Sad thing: Many 8 car grid races, only some are 12 car races (championships e.g.)

Nice thing: 1 on 1 races at Fujimi with slower traffic all the time, like rivals mode but with the rival right there, not a ghost.

Crappy thing: Random prizes as in a jackpot (always get the lowest one..)

Amazing game, GT5 killer easily, best physics/graphics on console!

Cheesy thing: Money is really easy to make, I got half million by playing for 4 hours approx, also xp pretty easy, level 12 in 4 hours!?!?

Great thing: Different hour racing, Hockenheim for example looks awesome late in the afternoon, with purple skies, and stuff...

Annoying thing: Some monitor telling you on each turn or pass how good you were by measuring 0 to 4 bars... Turned it off for good now...

Haven't done tuning nor painting, I'll check it out soon...

Only done the bowling stuff, can't find the soccer game, nor the drag thing nor the drifting stuff, guess those open up later in the career...

Unlocking cars in Autovista is absurdly easy, just do a very brief race, you get the car...

I don't think either of these are a bad thing. That means that getting the level reward cars is easy and getting money for the super expensive, 15million credit Ferraris won't be too much of a chore, either...unlike GT5.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. As in, the Money rewarded to you for winning a race is random?
 
Hmm I am not getting my LCE until 18th October... so I will ask you a few questions !

1) How much gbytes for both discs to install ??
2) Did you find what the Secret car import from Fm3 is ??
3) Any new SEATs in game ? :P (you know the spanish maker ! )

Its starting to bug me I have to wait till the 14th :( why was this not a worldwide same day release - its a big exclusive afterall.

Thanks for the info, although I'm pretty bummed:(

Yeah, even with kinect, the viewing angle is limited. I'm thinking the CSR and Elite wheels have a free look analog stick and thats what T10 programmed for.

You couldn't on the MS Wheel in FM3, but on the fanatec, the LSB/RSB extra buttons where defaultly mapped to this..

Be sad if this has been borked !

You could, I was playing FM3 on the MS wheel at the very beginning, but I had to use some controller setting for mapping, Default 3 or something, I can't remember.

I hope it isn't made wrong this time, it would really be too much (although I have a Kinect, but I want my L/R to be on the wheel).
