Got the F40...

I just want PD to fix the damn car.

In don't care if they wanted to put a hello kitty sticker on the hood, I just want it to weight 1100kg like the actual production car and like what the game shows in the showroom spec.

If there is ONE car they need to get the specs right in this game, it will be this one.

Ever think the car is lighter in the showroom because it doesn't have any gas and no driver?

The first 50-odd production cars had the sliding 'catflap' window, customer pressure forced Ferrari to switch to roll-ups after this.
It seems the F40 in the game is modelled on one of these 50 cars.

The 288 GTO is a beautiful car, the Evloution is made ugly (in my opinion of course) by the grills front and rear.👍

I LOVE the 288 GTO almost as much as the F40, but that thing seriously needs to go in the Questionable modifications thread :yuck:

Cause all the others cars QTS weight is the same as the showroom weight, which is the curb weight.

If the F40 is right then all the other cars will be wrong. They simply made a mistake and used the 1352 kg US Spec weight on a non US Spec car.

This is why the F40 sucks in the game and makes some of the missions using the F40 borderline impossible to get gold.

Hope this glitch is fixed before the US release..
 
Can someone Quick tune it just weight to be exact 1100 KG? Tell us the experience on how the car reacts.
 
1150Kg is the minimum weight you can achieve via QTS.

The car feels faster and more responsive, its braking distance is greatly improved, but laptimes are about the same because the car is still difficult to push hard, you still have that rocket under your right foot.

I just did some 6 laps at Suzuka with the "new" weight with S2 tires, the same as in time trial mode, and a shorter gearbox and I managed to do a 2.19.2 laptime in pro sim, and when using the "stock" F40 I did a 2.19.5 using the same tires.

Overall, the lighter F40 is pure fun, as it is more sensitive to your steering input.

Fast, yes.
Ugly... Definitely.

But then there's just something so attractive about it, maybe its the fact it's the F40's uglier older brother (or would it be sister?), I guess what i'm trying to say is it looks quite purposeful, you just know its fast...
 
I just managed to get second place with this beast on 700PP Suzuka - in 6.54. I was pretty pissed as the winner brake checked/blocked me on the main straight at the beginning of lap 3. I have now realised that the F40 is about 10mph quicker than almost any car at max velocity down the main straight, so you just have to carry some speed through the corners which is where the main skill lies, but oh so rewarding when you get it right.

So, maybe it is possible to win with this beast - if you can tame it an drive it, (which requires tuning) thanks for the setting by the way nime I have worked on them and I will post them when I think they are optimal.]

*edit* now just got a 4th in 6.57 with a couple of heavy punts from other players... really starting to like this car. Sooooo rewarding!

and another second.... 7.000 flat, but a big off pushing too hard.....come on people give this car a try!
 
Honestly, pour moi, the F40 is the best car in the game. It can brake harder and better than 70% of the cars on the track, and with the gearing lowered and the suspension dialed...man is it fast. turn the AIDS off, and you've got yourself a handful!
 
Oh well, now I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one that see this car as hard to drive. I only said it on other topic but I was like more on silence thinking about it wasn't the car or it wasn't me haha, but well at least I see that we all of us have hard drive with it haha.

Anyway, I love to drive it. In the other topic what I said is that it was so hard for me to drive it with SIXAXIS, professional physics and aids off, and I've always set TCS=2 or so to have a better oportunity on online pro physics for example, because this car is pure danger if anybody touchs you.. be sure you won't control it so quickly to come back to the line. Anyway, I've reached 8th & 7th on Suzuka 700PP with it and it still needs some config., so I think it'll take this beast even to better places. I really love it, one of my favourite car in the game although it's hard to drive as hell, but that's the achievement if you learn to do it. I'll continue driving it even if I reach 16th, it's a total pleasure.

I'll be waiting then. The config. I'm using is one did by my own with some days of practising trying to improve it day after day. It still needs some work on it, but the car is now a bit better. I'll post mine too.
 
Both the older Ferraris are great fun, the F40 and the 512. They may not be the fastest cornering weapons out there but the car squirming under braking and sliding around the corners is brilliant!
