A review of the ARL Penalty System and Point Values for Infractions:
The penalty system for this league will be based on points deducted. For any driver who commits a penalty depending on the severity of the penalty will have points deducted off of their season points. If the penalty is so severe that may mean suspended for the season/suspended indefinitely.
• 3 POINTS - Causing minor damage to another drivers car, unsafe re-entry, cutting corners
• 6 POINTS - Dive bomb, making a pass using out of bounds, not adhering to flag rules, blocking/weaving
• 9 POINTS - Causing major damage to another drivers car, not conceding spot if you have ran another driver off track/ bumped them going into a corner
• 12 POINTS - intentionally hitting another driver, retaliation, dive bomb with no intention of using the brakes
• 15 POINTS - Intentionally trying to wreck other drivers, driving wrong way on the track, pretty much being a jackass. We don’t expect to see many of us having a problem with this major point deduction because overall this is a clean group of drivers but, you never know when you might have to use this penalty.
Penalty points will reset at the start of each season. With that being said, the directors will take into consideration past season’s penalties when making any further rulings for future infractions so please drive clean and respectful.
Specifics on Car Contact and Concessions: (Most typical type of penalty that we have seen).
7. OLR - Contact Concessions: A: If there’s contact between drivers that results in the guilty driver making up places on the innocent driver, the guilty driver should immediately allow the innocent driver to pass freely to re-establish their position. This rule should be observed, even if it means the guilty driver has to allow drivers not involved in the incident to pass while waiting for the driver they contacted.
B: If the appropriate contact concession is carried out by the guilty driver then they may avoid or reduce the severity of any penalties that might otherwise apply.
C: If the appropriate contact concession is not carried out by the guilty party then the usual penalties would apply.
D: If you have to slow down to let the other player through, move out of the racing line first before you slow down. Coming to a full stop is not allowed, just continue at a lower pace until the other driver passes you again.
