Great racing tonight. 👍

I lost my car in the downhill s on lap 1. It caused cars behind me to pile into me since I was slow in the middle of the track. So sorry for that guys. :indiff:

I wanted to share my notes from my practice before the last round with everyone so it may help some improve their endurance racing strategies.

Personally, I think the best strategy is to find a good tire compound that promotes the ideal balance for your driving style and your car. On top of that, do consistent practice runs on each compound and calculate how much total time it will take for you to complete the whole race. Here is what I came up with for my car,

The times recorded are conservative averages of each long run I did. That will account for driver error and tire wear. Also, it's best to stay conservative because you tend to actually drive faster in the race (in my case, my pace during the race was one whole second per lap faster on average). After you have the averages, you want to come up with pit stop strategies. A 2 stop was the fastest option for me on paper, so that's what I went with for the race. This is absolutely critical because a 30s average pitstop (accounting for fuel and maybe light damage if necessary) is alot of time wasted. Of course, the race will force you to make some decisions based on the conditions. When I found I was able to keep up with mopp on the hards, especially after his mistake, I went longer on the first stint. I did the same in the second stint so I can use the opportunity to catch him on the final stint by switching to RM. The only problem was I made a mistake costing time and didn't fuel up enough (damn v12)

Anyway if you have any more questions I'd be happy to help. Im not the fastest on this game by a long shot, but I can maybe help someone else be the fastest by sharing knowledge.

@abm89 that's some good stuff there honestly I was planning on doing a 2 stop race with a 9 lap stint to start it off and then 2 8 laps to finish it off....well needless to say that went to the way side when I spun out coming out of last turn and received damage on lap 6. I came out of pits on softs and ran fuel map 3 and 4 while short shifting managed to save enough gas for the 2 stop to still be in effect. I had no tires left to race you at all which I'm sure you could tell by catching me over the last couple laps...personally my strategy domt start till I run a couple laps and figure out fuel mileage

Yeah, usually i just go on the fly and figure it out, but since ARL runs on saturdays, which is perfect for my schedule, i can spend the morning practicing, do whatever else i need to do in life, and come back to race at night.

Was shooting for a three stopper, 6 lap stints on softs, then finish on mediums, but spun on lap four coming into the main straight, had damage and went with softs for the balance of the race.

Best lap I could manage on the softs was a 1:36:014

Great fun looking forward to next week...

Glad you enjoyed your first race

It was a fun race indeed last night gentlemen. Some very good racing throughout the packs.
@Racer546324, sorry I plowed into you during the closing laps during your spin...I tried to avoid, but as my luck has it, I pulled a "NOG" and ran right into you.
Sorry for the late response, but it was my fault. I got into the race track realizing that you were coming and did not get out of the way on time.

Was great racing with everyone and really enjoyed the battles. Great bunch of racers.

Hey guys, when I post the pics from last night, I am only going to post 1 image per driver to keep the clutter down. If you would like the other pics of yours from the race, just shoot me a PM with your PSN and email and I will forward them to you.
