Hmm..I like the job you guys have done already! Forgive me in advance for the long read.

I've always seen this as like the eSports version of IMSA (potentially a partnership with IMSA someday?) with Gr.3 being sorta the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship and Gr.4 being the Michelin Pilot Challenge. Minus the prototypes of course, but the prototypes could certainly have their moment in the wildcards as like an ARL Wildcard Championship with 3-4 races to crown the champion in a similar fashion as the IMSA North American Endurance Cup. You could maybe even go as far as making those wildcards the marquee events of every season along with the season opener and finale.

If I remember correctly, the prototypes were split from the GT cars on some occasional Grand-Am events back in the day while nowadays its just the VIR race that has only the GT field I think.

I've always ran races on "real" slipstream, so I'm not sure how significant the difference is between that and weak. I'm sure "weak" would be great though because it would make us work harder every lap to bank fast laps and not always using the tow as a crutch. I think the method would make us quicker racers!

With weekly racing, I look forward to logging on with you guys because I know I'm going to get organized, clean racing. I'm definitely with weekly. ARL gives me something to look forward to after a long hard week of daily race grinding lol. I'm sure you guys know how that goes although some weeks are better than others.

Only thing I'm torn on is deciding between dual-40 minute races or a whole 90 minute race. Doubleheaders are always fun to watch. Alot can happen in-between that can shift a team from sluggishness to competitiveness. 90 minute races are also fun in that they test which drivers can maintain their competitive edge and concentration the longest. It would beg the question of who can stay on race winning pace and win for 90 grueling minutes. It's hard work trying to get every corner right. You'll find yourself griping over every hundreth of a second lol.
Well stated, and very happy to have you as part of the ARL and Snail. I noticed you signed up!

Very well stated man I'm glad you are enjoying it so far, when ARL was just a thought and a few of us discussing turning it into league we tried to model this after imsa, wc, and blancspain to get a hybrid and take something from each of them and create a good race that everyone would enjoy. Mix the thought of ARL and everyone bringing ideas to the BoD we have what we do today bc of all you guys and alot of testing ideas lol. One thing we pride ourselves on is if someone has a idea theres no automatic turn down let's test it and see how it goes if it works great if it doesnt exactly pan out let's tweak it and try again. Infact the wildcard was a suggestion at the beginning of season 1, it's now one of the highlights of the season and one of my favorite races. Now teaming up with other organizations such as IRS and SNAIL brings the best out of everyone and really shows the comradary within these groups.

ARL DRIVERS BRIEFING

Race: S2R1

Date: 4/13/19

Track: Dragon Trail - Gardens 18:30 (Fine Weather)

This is something i started doing towards the middle of last season. Just a few pointers/caution statements i hope help drivers and helps.
  1. Theres a bunch of new drivers racing with ARL for the first time, we have 26 or 27 drivers tonight and thats amazing big props to you guys! With that being said drivers from season 1 please be patient with the new drivers.

  2. Turn 1 as most of us saw last night is going to be very tight, remember the race is not won on lap 1 turn 1 its a long race and please use caution with so many drivers going into that turn no one wants to damage their car or someone else’s.

  3. Turn 2 is a hard braking turn, if your not careful you could run into another driver because cars stack up going into the uphill chicane and its going to be very congested at the start until the field spaces out. Brake early if you need to and watch the guy infront of you and be mindful for the car behind you.

  4. Turn 6 the straight after the uphill chicane is a hard braking slow corner if you are not paying close attention to the car infront of you it is easy to get into the back of them. Not only that but can also cause you to run that corner really wide if you miss the braking point and cause damage. Please be careful in this corner it can be a huge pain in the a$$.

  5. The quadruple right hand turns can make or break your race these corners need to be hit almost perfect every time. To slow and you get in the grass and spin, to fast and you run wide and hit the barriers.

  6. I cant thank all you guys enough for making the season opener the largest grid i think we have ever had the mix of new guys and season 1 returning drivers should make this a very fun race. Thank all of you for confirming early and making the job of splitting lobbies so much easier. I hope everyone enjoys the first race of the season and we can keep the trend going. Have fun tonight gentlemen!

  • Tonight's qualifying we are implementing the k.i.s.s. (keep it simple stupid)Method for our first time running the new qualifying procedures. Once the room resets all drivers need to head to the end of the first corner and line up no specific order tonight. We are also looking into the statement earlier today and a possible change but for tonight we will try this one out. Remember to give the driver infront of you a 7 second gap before you leave the outlap.

@Neutty I heard that TRD and LEXUS racing are sharing some secrets ever since @aceboy127 and @Herimopp89 has signed on to Lexus's cars while I don't feel that the Lexus will have the pace like the vipers did it will be a solid front runner...I'm hoping to train @TexasJDC to become the next sub par alien like myself
Millennium Falcon Racing would like to confirm that we are not using TRD. We here do not support Toyota and see them as a threat and feel as we do not need the cheap knock off to win. However LRD has help with R&D for the Lexus

Official Practice night??

So about a week ago @TexasJDC accidentally leaked an official practice night. Where i am still working on the details, many of you know that half of ARL is from SNAIL. What i am purposing is a possible partnership with ARL and the SNAIL ENDURANCE LEAGUE. So, i have a few questions below. Feel free to post your thoughts in here. Where there is still an announcement coming as to the next season of the snail endurance league, we are looking at revamping in hopes of growing BOTH ARL AND SNAIL. Many have hinted a 90 minute race and we may be able to figure something out in that aspect, so here goes.

What are your thoughts on running a "second" Series on Tuesday nights that will serve as an official practice night for the coming Saturday?

Would you attend weekly, or would you rather run biweekly?

Would you rather see dual 40 minute races, or a 90 minute race with the current ARL Rules, or maybe both on a bi weekly schedule?

I am currently testing running with "BOOST" on weak to allow closer racing, is that something you would be interested in? This idea may be placed in one of the "dual" races if we go that direction. (By the way, we have found that Boost doesnt really effect the tire/fuel wear, along with braking points.)

If we run a bi-weekly schedule, the 1st and 3rd race of the month for ARL would be carried into Tuesday night. The 2nd and 4th race would be combos generated by the Full time members of the Endurance series, would you attend these races? Sometimes its with street cars and sometimes with the other "Group" Cars.

Just so everyone knows, if we go the route of running the ARL schedule, the 4th race in the Endurance side will be a 90 minute race, as a combo that is generated by a Full Time Member of the Endurance Series. Would you attend that as well.

This would also allow you to "test" the waters with a new car for the next season. The Endurance series will not hold you to a "Manufacture/Car"....... yet, it is still something to look into in the future.

You may run this series even if you are not signed up through SNAIL. HOWEVER!!!, If you have been "BANNED" From SNAIL, you may not attend these races.

If you do not know what snail is, please check us out HERE, you will not be disappointed.

We still have some things to iron out, but i am looking for some feedback.
So is a full merger being proposed? I joined ARL because it fit my schedule the best. I like the Saturday night racing and know it's something I can make. I can't commit to a weekday race schedule, so I would prefer the ARL schedule as it is now. Boost in other games was generally an option to help you catch the field if you fellas behind. I don't think I care about that either way. I'm unsure about a 90 minute race, but I could try it.

Agreed. An alliance/partnership between the two leagues.
No full merger just partnership lol I'm hardheaded!

Just so we are all clear. This idea is to help both series out. NOTHING changes on saturdays just simply bringing an official race night for another series BUT it would act as an official practice night for ARL and put some racers that don’t normally race together.

It’s like practicing for ONE race that has two different Championships. This would allow you have a chance for redemption on Saturday nights Incase things go bad on Tuesday nights.

Does this make since. I hope so. I don’t really know how else to put it.

*Breaking News from the AMG Garage!*
Our series correspondents, Ben Dover, and Jack Goff have locked themselves in their hotel room, but luckily the Daughter of SkySports Media mogul, Sissy Limpwrists was in the Paddock and saw that AMG had lost their Vodafone sponsorship. When approached, team principal Lou Sanus had this to say," We just found out it is not 2008 anymore."
