So I see this on the social media all the time and figured I gotta ask. For you folks with wheels, do you wear gloves? What about shoes? Why or why not?
No gloves with my g29, i used to wear moccasins, but wear 2 pair of socks, the outermost ones have non slip deals on the bottom

Season 5 recap continued: (Brought to you by Death Wish Coffee, THE official coffee of ARL www.deathwishcoffee.com)
  • Started the season with 34 drivers on roster.
  • Week 3 saw the addition of 2 drivers.
  • Week 4 added another, up to 37.
  • Week 6 4 more drivers signed on bring us to 41.
  • Week 8, added 2 more.
  • Week 10 one driver signed.
  • Week 11 had 3 more drivers sign on.
  • Week 13 had 1 additional driver sign, bring the total roster to 48, which was the highest roster we've had!
  • 43 of 48 drivers (89.6%) raced at least once and scored points.
  • 60% of drivers classified as FULL TIME (our highest).
  • @GTR4MROD was the only driver to complete all laps. (377)
  • 8 teams competed.
  • 12 drivers scored one or more wins (7 Silver, 5 Bronze).
We've said it often enough, but can never express the gratitude to our driver pool, for making this league as successful as it has been. From our very humble beginnings on November 19th, 2018, we would have never thought that we would have grown so quickly, so fast. That, my firends, is all attributed to you, our driver base. There is an ARL event almost every night of the week, and we are currently seeking further expansion in IRacing and ACC. (Assetto Corsa Competizione for PS4/5) We thank you for your continued support, growth and development of ARL. We cant do it without you all.
Awesome stats man every season I'm at a loss of words with your data and stats man. We have the best stats guy hands down. I couldn't have put what you said any better man we are very thankful you guys choose to run with us and enjoy the racing. Also want to thank the BoD you guys never let me down thank you very much for everything you guys do both on track and behind the scenes.

Season 5 is over and I just wanted to take a second and personally thank everyone who participated this past season, I know we got off to a shaky start with the tire and fuel rules being hit and miss but thank you guys for being patient and working with us. Looking forward to season 6 there are a few changes listed below but not many. We hope this brings the field closer together and will help get some good battle for points going. Again thank you guys for making ARL what it is today.

Changes:
  • Wildcard will no longer be a 2x points race, wildcard races will still happen as they always have with the exception of points. What this also does is allow us to run mixed lobbies on wildcard night.
  • The tire rule last season seemed to work pretty well so we will continue to fine tune that. The one BIG change for season 6 is we will now be required to run both compounds in a race. There is no set # of laps that are mandatory if you want to run the softest tire and come in right before the final lap and run 1 lap with the harder compound that's within the rules. The tire rule will not count towards a mandatory tire if a driver splits compounds (example: if a driver starts the race with RSS front and RS rear and the mandatory tire is RS, that first stint does not count towards the mandatory RS tire switch)
  • We will be introducing a 3rd division to help keep the racing close and points battles going on. We will have a gold, silver, and bronze division. This replicates how wec classifies their drivers and seems to work. We are currently working on restructuring the driver divisions as we speak and should have it rolled out by friday. By doing this we hope to bring the battles closer together and make for some fun racing. The addition of a 3rd division does not change anything with teams.
  • There are a few more changes to come, nothing major like the others more housekeeping than anything else.

Schedule:
We have the tracks selected for season 6 but havent got times, tire or fuel yet that will come later this week aswell but wanted to atleast let you guys know so you can start testing.

I dont race with gloves or shoes. No socks either. Just my bare feet and hands. I tried to wear gloves. But my hands get cramps with them on.

Corvette C8-R? Are you telling me it's soon to be here?
Hahaha! I wished! It's the Mazda RX VGT that's coming in a few weeks time. Doubt it'll be approved for the next season, or they'd even allow an interim car to cover for that.

I wouldn't mind a C8-R in the game. It looks really sleek and aggressive! Though in my wishlist I would want the new Ford GT (LM GTE) or the Super GT300 Toyota Prius, or even the M8 GTE there.

Press Release:

Smokey Top Racing would like to thank our sponsors Ford, Budwiser, Verizon and VP Racing Furls for a great season. Thanks to ARL for a great series.

With that being said it is sad to inform you that we have parted ways with teammate @CPT_RowdyGiff . We thank him for his hard work this season and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. We are currently looking for a Silver Driver to fill that vacancy.

The folks at the shop are still partying it up after a 5th place overall finish. The phones have been off the hooks with sponsorship offerings. Everything from industrial machine lube, to high performance muffler berings. We will be reviewing all sponsorships in the near future. In the meantime, we're only 10 cases into our sponsorship bonus of 1 pallet of beer, so back to it.

Thank you.
Still hiring @IDreamInGT3?
