you also have to consider that when a car is strapped to a chassis dyno, that dyno will read differently than another from a different manufacturer.
so while i hear and understand, empathise and completely agree with what lethalchem is saying, there is a valid reason for M5powers misgivings. this is why when people are doing dyno competitions, they use the same model and make, on the same day, under teh same conditions.
i also distinctly recall reading in SCC about their project SRT4s hp. after talking with a DC engineer on the team he told them that the 230 rated hp was the worst case scenario (low octane fuel, high altitide, high temps and every otehr factor that can "rob" horespower) so with every possible factor that can affect hp against them it would still pout 230 to the ground.or words to that effect.
