But did BAR understand why they were fast? No. Did they improve the car much over the year?

I would have thought Friday testing helped out for them.

i hope the rain doesnt hurt bar again this year at spa like it did last year.

what do you guys think about F1 becoming a spec tire series? i hear michillen may be done at the end of 06. honestly i kinda like having just one tire company.

Well after USGP '05 i think the one tyre company will be the best option by far.

Bye bye michelin

i dont double post i seperate different topics i post on in the same thread sometimes with different posts so its easier to follow.
I have noticed you doing this before, but I've never got round to mentioning it. A post followed by another post by the same person is a double post.

i will probably change it again in a few hours anyway. maybe even before half the people in this thread see what it says now.

it has been shortend though.

i cant wait till next race. you will all see! the bars pace will be... uhhh... well the engine will be running this time... at least i hope...

man i like sato but even i am starting to get sick of this.
Why couldn't they have been in the same post?

I would therefore advise you to use the edit button.

slicks are coming back in 2008.

one tire maker will be great for f1. when bridgstone gets more testing data the tires will work better. i like the idea.

as to my double posting, that wasnt the way i saw it but whatever you say. i'll stop.

But when Bridgestone have all the teams they won't bother making the tyres faster. What's the point of spending millions making a tyre faster when you have no one to compete against?

And so then they get more of a profit from reduced costs of making more development..

If Bridgestone are smart they would take that with open hands and run

One tire maker will be terrible for f1. It will also be bad for tire development in general. One tire manufacturer means that the tires will not improve much because why should anyone spend money on racing tires when everyone has to use yours?

...they should also be allowed to use slicks whenever they want... and change tires whenever they want.

Interesting race, not the most exciting, but being at Monza by default makes it interesting. Poor Kimi. If I wa shim and the team came to me and said we are going to put a "special" engine in your car I'd say no! Nothing special please because it will blow up. Give me the tried and true and I'll put it on pole...which he will.

The fact Kimi put that car on pole with that amount of fuel really showed he is by far the fastest driver in F1 currently. The McMerc might not be the most reliable car but Kimi is the fastest driver. Ahead of Alonso, MS, Trulli and JPM. His outright pace is scary.

Unless Alonso has DNFs the next 2 races I don't see how Kimi can win the title, plus I give the McMerc's a 40/60 chance of even finishing. The constructors is still a fight but again with a 40/60 chance of both McMercs finishing that too looks tough.

Good drive from my guy Trulli. I thought the Toyota would be a little stronger at Monza but in general it was good for the team.

Off to Spa baby!

Dont see how that fact is true when McMerc is the only team to have scored in every race... (Except USGP of course but tht wasn't a race of kinds..)

And Renault has scored at least one car in all races but USGP and Hungry(?).

My point is the McMerc needs BOTH cars to finish each race in the points and ahead of the Renualts.

Fisi seems to have woken up finally and is driving in the points again. Alonso is ALWAYS right there.

McMerc needs to be consistent to win the constructors. It'sgoing to be tough as consistency has been Renault's thing all season.

Well JPM is also bringing in the points, its only 8 points... if McMerc get a 1-2 at spa whilst Renault get a 3-5 lets say then they are all tied..

Tbh its too close to call right now.
