Me and my bro were having a discussion a few minutes ago about Kimi's starting position tomorrow. Because he had to change his engine he was penalized and will be set back a couple of places on the grid. The question is, on what position will he start the race tomorrow, 10th or 11th?
What do we think?

well, he got first position, but because he changed engine, he's penalized with 10 positions down... 10+1 = 11

BARs could be light fueled so expect them to jump of the line and challenge for the lead in the first few laps, Ferraris i believe to be slightly on the lighter edge of fuel, McLaren i have a feeling are on a heavier load, especially with Kimi.

We should be in line for a nice race.

It's definatly 11th. Now why is it always Kimi's engine that needs to be changed, never JPMs? I notice during the onboard shots during a race Kimi always goes to redline, but Montoya doesn't (lights on the steering wheel), this is the only reason I can think that 'bad luck' always seems to strike Kimi.

gently refer to this thread to note the origin of my sarcasm
Yeah, I knew you were being sarcastic :p

Monza is a track where it's very possible to pass if you have a good car, so I don't expect Kimi to be held up for the entire first stint. He should be able to get past anyone significantly slower than him within a few laps.

For Kimi to win it'll have to be McLaren 1-2 and JPM letting Kimi past. Which, I think, is not too unlikely given their pace.

That bad thing is, Kimi and JPM may be heavy, but by their times they don't look that heavy. :nervous:

Did anyone notice the RPMs on Kimi's engine drop slightly? During the aproach to Parabolica on his qualy... he's in 6th climbing the revs and then it drops every so slightly and pics up again.
And did anyone else find it funny how Montoya was acting during the post qualy interview? He had his head down and kept looking up at the camera like a little kid being scolded by his parents. And what was that he was playing with in his hands? Hahaha

Kimi is heavy on fuel... that's a given. Since he can't risk getting into a tangle in the first corner, he'll doddle around midpack trying to pick off cars as much as he can. Then put the foot down when everyone else comes in and he's light on fuel. He shouldn't have too much difficulty overtaking cars. Monza doesn't really have a dirty side since the track is so heavily rubbered in during last week's testing.

I hope alonso has a miss altercation at the start with montoya so kimi wins.
Is Miss Altercation related to Miss Hurst Golden Shifter?

Hurrah!! All BAR 2nd row, u noticed the writing on their nose? Must have soming to do with the speed test, maybe they are aiming for 400 kph..

Predicitions for tomorrow:

1st: Alonso
2nd: Kimi
3rd: Button
4th: JPM
5th: Sato
6th: Trulli
7th: MS
8th: Fisi

Am i the only one wanting Alonso to win?
Nope. :D

I think Kimi is going out on this one. So, I think it'll be like this...

1. Alonso
2. JPM
3. Button
4. Trulli
5. Sato
6. M. Schumacher
7. Coulthard
8. R. Schumacher

I say Fisichella, to set things right with Flavi, will do a Kamikaze run into Kimi at the start to sure up the points for Alonso. :D

So Alonso will beat JPM despite JPM starting on pole and having the faster car and the track having no quadriple apex corners .... how?

And Fisichella will fall back at the start, then purposely crash his car into Kimi?

:dunce:

wells hes starting 9th and kimi will probably jump a few positions from the start so if he can get him in the first corner that'd be about the only shot he'd get.

alonso wont win.

No no no no, he qualified 9th, he'll start 8th. And Renault tend to good off the line so Solid Lifters' theory is pretty much out the window.

I hope Kimi doesn't get caught up in the first lap mess. :nervous:

it looks like it was his glasses. i guess he just didnt much feel like talking.

anyone think Mclaren can overtake renault in the constructors points this weekend? i think so. its only 9 points. if both cars finish it should be easy.

Alonso beat JPM at the last race meeting, didn't he? ;)

The Fisi line was obvisouly a joke, Mr. Haswell.

I made a note about quadriple apex corners, I probably should have made one about a Jordan too.

Well with the first corner so tight and some cars going as much as 3 wide then expect someone to trip over...

and to ur earlier question of how would Alonso over take JPM, JPM will prob run into a backmarker as per usual...

Editage: Theres still a possible risk of showers during the race!! If this happens then it will throw the race completely on its head...

hell no kimi aint sato his. that crap is just that. crap. screw kimi.

you think its annoying the best driver doesnt win. ha. bull hocky. tuff titty said the kitty. deal with it. bar isnt winning anything either.

crap that was close. i was on edge. jpm has got a pair thas for sure...

at least button got 1 point... honda could have done better but oh well. damn it sato!

How can Martin Brundle give his driver of the day award to Pizzonia? What did Kimi do wrong? Kimi was fantastic. Qualified on pole with the fastest car. Had to stop and change a duff tyre, and still finished 4th.

McLaren's & Mercedes' reliability sucks. Michelin sucks. Kimi is a driving God and deserves so much better.

I agree Kimi done an amazing job after being hampered so much in this race 👍
Finishes 1st in pole and starts 11th on grid to be held behind Jaques for a few laps then pushing the car into 2nd place before his pitt stop .... comes out of pitts in 5th and then gets hit by the tyre problem and drops to 11th again behind jaques :dopey: and then to fight all the way back to 4th is simply stunning :)

Kimi is the unluckiest driver I have ever watched and without a doubt his unlucky streak has cost him more than just this years championship title  It has haunted him for years now! Kimi is the best driver without a doubt and should be the champ .... lets just hope next season his gremlins will be all gone 👍

What a fookin driver he is though .....

oh!! .. and nice one to Montoya for holding on with that bad tyre on last few laps and stopping fernando the Gonzo from taking the win :sly: 👍

If Kimi is all that then why couldn't he get ahead of JV who is in a Sauber earlier??

It was a good race, JPM was a brave man to continue to drive with the tyre problem for the last 4 laps, Alonso drove a perticually quiet race if anything but surely now he's got the championship.

Fisi done well after a poor quali i thought and deserved his podium.

Wow Kimi must be a p*ssed, he was the fastest man by far and then some, im sure he will be having talks with Michelin later tonight.

BAR underperformed amazingly badly, i thought Button was on line for a podium but he only got 8th.. even Pizzonia who hasn't been in a V10 for 3 months done better, Sato had a bad day because BAR were stupid quite simply, the fueled him up good and proper in the first stop but then the computer didn't record this and so they brought him back in unschedule, only to fill up his car till its brim so he had the heaviest car there and tht surely must not have done too well for his tyres..

I agree with Martin's choice, Pizzonia drove a great race considering yesterday morning he was planning where to watch the race from...

Raikonnen was good but that mistake at the 2nd chicane didn't do any help wat so ever.

Maybe you didn't notice but Kimi had only stopped once (for fuel). He had the heaviest car and still qualified on pole. If his tyre didn't act up he would have won this one with ease (like many other races).

The race is Spa will be the deciding one. If Alonso scores 3 points more than Kimi he will win it.

It s pretty obvious that kimi is by far the fastest and consistent driver on the grid. I dont see why ron dennis just doesnt turn the engine down so it will stop blowing up cause kimi would still be faster than everyone else.

how about just telling kimi to slow down and watch his revs rather then detuning the engine. that makes a hell of a lot more sense. jpm doesnt have as bad trouble as kimi.

No that doesnt make sense because which driver wants to be looking down at his dial when you can just set a rev limiter.

I presume kimi blows his engine more than JPM because he is a faster driver and there fore gets on the gas quicker around corners and longer.

jpm is a great driver. he doesnt push the engine as hard as kimi which is why it blows on kimi. it makes more since to watch your revs rather then setting a rev limiter because if you ever do need those extra revs they are there. kimi wouldnt have to drive around with his eyes on the wheel the whole lap. a good driver pretty much knows what rpm hes at by sound. with a freaking v10 right behind you head its pretty hard to not know.

Yes but when your in the zone of racing round as fast as ppossible I dont think he wants to have the extra worry of having to listen to the engine and they do wear ear plugs aswell so if he wants extra revs he can just ask for them by the intercom.
