Does anyone know if there is going to be a Gran "T" for PC. I don't have a game system except for a computer.

PS bow down to the almighty King Roo!

Uhm, i could be wrong, but if i remember correctly there is currently a port of GT3 to PC under development. The name is Gran Turismo Professional. I believe you can find more info on the topic in these forums.

No - there isn't. There was a bit of a fuss over this a year or so ago - do a search - but PD said it wasn't going to happen. It was all based over a misinterpretation of a quote.

We thrashed the logic out in this thread - there isn't single commercial reason Sony would do it.

Porting GT to the PC would remove one of the 3 main reasons people bought a PS2 over the other 2 consoles. (The others being Squaresoft and GTA3)
I was surprised when the false news of a PC port was released, but realize now that it will never happen.

NO! NOOOOO!!!! It's not true! You're a liar! LIAR! LIAR! LIAAAAR!!

[runs away crying]

Seriously, GT on the PC has been my dream since day one. Imagine...downloading new tracks and cars...online competition...yup, it'd be good.

Hopefully, the network adapter and HDD for the PS2 will make this a reality.

Agreed. Plus the graphics might be ****.

What logic would lead you to say that? My PC (which is no better than average in the overall power dep't.) can easily outperform my PS2 graphically.

Just on this - I'm quite surprised no-one has ever attempted something similar for the PC - we've seen games trying it on the N64, XBox and so on. Maybe no-one's willing to gamble the money that it costs to do something like this.

I think, IMHO, that NFS:PU came pretty close.. Unless for the money part. But for once in the NFS series you actually felt like driving a car (not that I've ever driven a Pukka in real life :D )

Why not? One PS2 is a lot cheaper than keeping your graphics card up to date for less than half a year and the PS2 lasts at least 5 years.

Personally, I think the PS2 is perfect for race games, and will also be for online racing - I like the broadband only choice because I noticed with PC racing there's all this lag.

But most important of all, with PS2 racing everyone has the same hardware. That means that times are also comparable and fair. With PCs that virtually never the case. And that sucks. People could gain time just because they have more money to spend on hardware. Or maybe even because their PC is slow. Whatever the case, it's not equal and that sucks.
