My poll was malicously edited. Only moderators can edit polls. I brought that to the attention of the owner of this site. The owner of this site fixed the poll. No action was taken against that moderator, which made other people feel they could harrass me.

This dosent surprise me at all. GTP has scum and hardasses around so I see why this guy is pissed. To keep it simple power goes to the more knowledge able, and the person who has the most posts. Newbies aren't tolerated well and Drifters are viewed as scum of the earth, even by moderators. Well laser lens i wish you adieu, and hope you find a forum to suit your needs.

Something occurs to me...

Maybe the GT4 Prolouge ver. will be included with the new wheel set. It could make set, maybe the wheel is keeping its release date, but GT4 is delayed, so the prolouge is included with the wheel, as in incentive to buy it, and as publicity, just like how game demos often come with PC controllers.

I read through the entire thread you linked, where he supposedly "harrassed" you. I didn't see it that way at all.

Is he incorrect about SUVs and trucks in GT4? No. It's been well known for sometime, and from many different websites, that they will be in GT4.

This was in direct response to a post by BIGBEN right above it. BIGBEN called you insane. Solid Lifters said "maybe" in response to that, then proceeded to defend your information saying that trucks and SUVs would be in GT4. He was supporting your information, and it was BIGBEN who said you were insane. I really can't see that in any way as "harrassment". Yet when you came back into the thread, you did make a personal attack of sorts:

That's far worse - far worse - than what he wrote.

You're saying your poll was maliciously edited because someone added "all of the above" to it? Puh-lease. Besides, I saw no posts by Solid Lifters in that thread at all. So how exactly did this moderator-with-a-grudge make Solid Lifters "target" you? I think you're a little hypersensitive, maybe.

You two obviously got off on the wrong foot. Get over it. Having just wasted half an hour of my life reading through all this mountain of alleged evidence, I see no place that he harrassed you. In fact I find most of the inability to drop it and move on coming from your side of the fence.

So if, you wish to be a drama queen and announce your last post, so be it. You know the way out all by yourself, I'm sure.

Well this guy is pissed at me. So, do you see me as a "scum" and hardass? If you do, why? I would like to know so I can finally set the record straight that I'm not a cruel, malicious person that Laser Lens has unfairly labeled me. What I'm going to say to you Laser Lens is this, with the exception of you stating that you are leaving, and that this is your last post here at gtplanet, this entire post is pathetic.

You felt I attacked you there. Your were wrong. You stated that there is no such thing as a pointless thread or post. You were wrong again. If that is true, then why do so many threads get closed? Then why do so many sarcastic posts and threads get made? All I did was disagree with you, and defend someone you said was wrong, when they were making a valid point.

To get things back to where they should be, I agree with you Takumi. I think Prologic was very upset to hear GT4 was not going to be available for Christmas. I'm sure Prologic was counting on holiday sales to help boost sale figures before the end of the fiscal year. With GT4 delayed until Spring, I'm sure their hopes were crushed, so they made PD come out with this demo to help with sales.

lets juts hope the demo or the wheel doesn;t get delayed, cus that would suck a lot i'm pretty exited about this demo, remember when you were playing the MSG2 demo that came with ZOE, the anticipation was soooo high i coudn't breath think what it will be like if you can play GT4 4 to 6 months before release, now that would be great right

GT4 may not (will not IMOH) be out in the spring.
There has never been an officail announcement to say it will.

The prologue edition will be for sale this xmas and it is not a demo!
It will be a cut down version of the final game, featuring all the coding developements to date, with a limited number of cars and tracks.
Or as PD put it it will be the Cd single as oppsed to the full 2 disc album.

It may well come free with the wheel, but will also be available as a stand alone product...think GT concept.

GT4 the full game Is delayed until PD are entirely happy with the new product & are still busy implementing new features to take the game to the next level, And are still currently working on recoding several other aspects of the game.

The Game Now has no expected release date, it will be ready when Kaz says so.

The Prologue edition wont be delayed, as it is almost certainly only coming out now due to contractual obligations with logitech.

The Wheel has been ready for months!

He just said it all. That's exactly what's happening and what will be happening. Thank God that PD guys are smart and reasonable not to rush GT4. Bless them.

I already feel like I've seen a lot of GT4's cars after playing GT3 & GTC, wouldn't want to spoil more suprises

I disagree with you. Prologue, IMO, is nothing but a glorified demo. If it's not the original release, and contains less features, I call it a demo regardless how much it contains.

Do you think GT4 will make a release in the winter, or summer? I think it's coming out sometime in spring. Remember, GT3 was rumored to come out in winter, then spring, and it came out in early summer. It was delayed for more than four months, and GT4 will be no different, again IMO.

The Prologue Is a time killing, Sweetener.

Late Spring The very earliest, definately more like early Summer 2004 IMO.

I think online Lag is causing very big headaches..
+ The Extension on developement time means they can tweek a few other ideas.

As for tracks - I've counted 7 tracks that've been shown in diffeent ocassions while showing GT4 demos around the world: Tsukuba Circuit, Fuji Speedway, New York City, Grand Walley Tuweep, Citta di Aria, Midfield Raceway and Laguna Seca.

They probablly have even more modelled tracks. Guess we sholud wait for just a while...

And for Midfield, no video has been posted anywhere, but during the Games Convetion in Leipzig, PD hosted an original booth with GT4 connected to this lovely DTM Audi and you can clearly see Midfield layout on screen.

And I must agree with GTXLR about delays and Prologue because my infos says the same:

GT4 is pushed back to an unkown date in 2004, and presuming late spring or even late summer is totally accurate. Two main reasons are total panic in both PD and Sony regarding the problems caused not just by latency while online play but with lots of other problems which are occuring during online gameplay: glitching of cars, innacurate controls and unspecified replay problems, together with coding entire new parts of the game which will make "a significant improvement over the first code intended".

And yes, Prologue is out partially because the obligations to Logitech who is losing money vith every days of the game being delayed, and partialy to show finished code of the game to all intresting parties, as well to keep the hype because the game will be late more than it was predicted.

As for now, Prologue will not apper ouside the Japan before Chrostmas, but both USA NTSC nad PAL codes can be expected shortly after the New Year.

I was thinking the same thing, and wish Sony would introduce an early, no online crap, version of GT4 for the most of us players who wont use online play. But, I know that is never going to happen since Sony has invested so much money into it already.

Thanks Amar for pretty much confirming my theory.
I know you must have very good sources.

Now with the game looking a lot further off, With the online Team working flat out to solve the online issue, lets just hope they keep using the other development teams to keep pushing more and more ideas/cars and tracks into the final package.

Solid lifters I believe you may well see the Final version of GT4 not featuring Online racing, although I absolutely dont agree with you about the online element of GT4 , in fact if done correctly to provide an extremely good on line racing experience for all levels of players, it would far enhance the gameplay aspects of the GT series, just imagine meeting up online with fellow planeters from around the globe for a quick thrash round any track in a car you've spent ages tweaking..result mind blowing Racing entertainment, that will never be matched by GTs Ai (Which are usually way to weak anyway).

If it can all be mastered by PD though, I Would definately invest in the technology, and in the uk that would currently cost quite a bit extra for network adaptor/ ethernet modem/ wireless router etc,
on top of my broadband subscription.
Add that to game cost and new wheel thats adding up to a real investment, no wonder PD are trying to make sure they get it right.

I do However have my suspicions That in The end PD will have to seriously limit the scope of the online game element, to get any kind of smooth online gaming experience, i believe it will have to be loacalised by region at the very least, if not completely left out of the final product, they are trying to beat the problems faced by using the internet, and currently it just isnt fast enough or smooth enough to do what PD needs IMO even with broadband.

Actually, all we know about the release date is "2004" and "TBA". You can compare that with Duke Nukem Forever. The release date was December 1999, now it's only "when it's done".
