Don't you get bored, Of doing the same stuff over and over and over to every car? And only having 3 spoilers, 2 bumpers and what not?

Why Can't they add car customization? ect like Bodykits atleast Vinyl's and what not

Like for all drifting fans why don't they put MadMikes Madbull RX7, It's ran by redbull?

Be able to make Rim size's and what not, new tire designs ect Bridgestone and what not.

If this is in the wrong section please move it to the right section please.

Moeee, this is not Need For Speed.

Even that not all cars do have front/side/rear bumper replacement, on the most cars you can install a wing or change the rims on all Standard and Premium cars.

A total customizing like in NFS won't look good in Gran Turismo, since NFS is focused more on streetracing and GT5 on locked circuit tracks. Gran Turismo doesn't want to be like Need For Speed.

If I am correct, mad mikes rx7 is on NFS shift 2, so is probebly under licence.

Im not saying to make it like Need For speed, Just Vinyl's and bodykits. and ability to remove stock wing.

Refering to a livery editor as "this is not like Need for Speed" is the standard fanboy answer. The point is you can have custom liveries even in iRacing. Nothing else to say. Don't waste time with fanboys, Moeeee.

Saying its not NFS is completly being ignorant..

There are tons of aeros for cars that actually do the work of aero and not the show off, tons of rims that provide enogh strenth for special purposes, etc..

And many many more

I have to agree with that! But yet its a GT game and not customizing game, would be nice to have more customisation, but we have to live with what we have, and I am glad that atleast we have something :)

I don't miss car customization.
But I wouldn't mind if they included it.

However, in my opinion it should be low on the priority list.
First add tracks and cars ;)

Theres on thing I know we'd all want. The ability to manually install stuff into your engine.

Like pickup the hood get machines and install turbo's instead of just pressing install and shiz

AND "TWIN" TURBO'S NO SINGLES

More customisation = Need For Speed?

/facepalm

Man, I do. I'm really jealous of Forza giving you the equipment to race mod ANY car and give it a livery. In almost every way, GT5 is awesome sauce, but that puny short Race Mod car list and those limp liveries, which you only get one style per car, is a big, big gaping hole in its potential.

I would like to see some simple, like stripes if more body kite couldn't be done.

Racemod any car ??
Only thing you can do is putting on some fugly forza bumpers, and only those bumpers can apply downforce :S And there are alot of cars that only can put on those forza bumpers, and some cars have variety off bumpers, but even if it is a big wing, it can not apply downforce :|
Soo yes you can put livery's on every car, but that doesn't make them racemod ;)
Trust me fm4 is a good game, but customization isnt that good in fm4.

Most of the time i can make gt5 premiums look alot better because of a small lip on the front, or a nice racy difusser in the back then most of the cars in fm4.

But on-topic, yes there is always room for improvements.
More bumpers is one off them, also more RM's and maybe a livery maker, or some preset livery's and you can change color and trim.
I'm really in to race cars, and making race monsters from stock cars.

HA!
I wanted to take stock cars and make them like the tc cars piece by piece.Hopefully GT6 will have more in depth customization.

Another thread on "why can't they do this and why can we not do that"..
:yuck:

Well maybe... maybe if GT actually got into the 21st Century and offered an improved suite of customisation and personalisation options (like it should), there wouldn't be a thread about it...

I wasn't disagreeing with the idea of more customization. But just a quick search about topics similar to this would net results like this or this or this or this..

They could use a customisation similar to test drive unlimited 2 system or even at the least the abillity to put company decals on the side of the car and the option to but a racing number on all your cars too.
To make them look more like a race car if that is what you desire.
I know it good to see normal everyday street cars racing and that is what GT was kinda about were you build up to drive a race spec car.
And i know it would be to time consuming plus take a lot of disk space to give every car a RM option so why not just let us do our own 💡 :sly:

But i would also like to add that i am curently happy with GT5 so far.
And i am happy with all the update and additions so far keep up the good work Kaz and the PD Team :gtpflag:

So car customization doesn't exist in real life? All of those Gran Touring car racing series, and the teams that spend countless hours taking stock cars and upgrading them for racing, strongly disagree with you.

The car customization in Shift 2 Unleashed was really awesome. My favorite feature was doing weight reduction and it actually turned the cockpit of a stock car, into a pretty realistic looking racing cockpit. The transformation was really neat looking and very detailed.

If you don't want that in Gran Turismo, then I don't know what to tell you.

Look, if all you care about is Gran Turismo and the status quo, that is fine; But some of us are pretty hardcore racing enthusiasts and don't make Gran Turismo the only thing we focus on. There are a lot of really great idea's that other racing games have done, that would fit nicely into Gran Turismo's attempts to be "the real driving simulator".

I'm just saying this has been discussed many times before as I'm sure you're aware of.

PD should hire me. Then all your dreams would come true. ;)

Moeee, this is not Need For Speed.

So only an arcade game is allowed to offer customization (in the most general definition, not just street racing culture)?
You mean it has no place in a sim because it doesn't happen in real life?

Why does this 'argument' persist and is always thrown about meaninglessly in every single thread or discussion about a more thorough and deeper level of customization, it's not as if GT5 doesn't already offer the possibility to customize your cars in a limited way so why would more options suddenly make it appear like NFS?
You can customize or personalize your car in a completely different context than just aiming to replicate the street racing scene.

Ok, but that does just go to show badly it needs to improve; I find little excuse for such limited customisation options in this day and age.

You're hired! Would you, er, insist on an option of coloured HID's if you were hired? No, no, better not... some GT fans would have a heart attack ;)

If more customization and a vinyl editor, means you might have to see cars with flame decals on them, then so be it. It's a small price to pay for the ability to create all of the real world racing designs out there for our cars.

And honestly, I never see some of the stuff people are complaining about in this thread, in Forza 4. The community there generally sticks strictly to creating racing designs that exist in the real world.

Actually no, I wouldn't.

Well maybe a few shades. Nothing crazy like pink or bright green. :D

Lol! Thank you! So true!

You don't see a Ferrari 458 with flames on do you?
No, but I've seen one with green owls flying all over it and it looks pretty damn good!
