What could the customization refer to?

A livery editor is great, better than race modify in Gran Turismo ( tasteful it needs to be ).What about a paint/spray booth for respraying. This could be done like the car wash/servicing garage.Used cars could have a choice of factory colours as options (if they are in that is ).

If you want to get technical, Forza 3 actually has an UNLIMITED amount of cars. Literally unlimited. So that makes 950 look like nothing. Keep in mind that since GT doesnt have a livery editor they have to create multiple of the same car but with different liveries. Forza 3 only needs 1 car and you can change that 1 car into ANYTHING you want. Unlimited creations for 1 car. 950 cars is nothing compared to the amount of cars you can create in Forza 3. And thats not even mentioning the engine swaps and drivetrain swaps for each application. Most people really cant grasp the amount of customization in Forza 3.

If you want to get technical, any unlimited way you trick out your civic, it's still a civic, is it not?
👍👍 Exactly what its was thinking, its like my putting a hat on a frog and saying it isn't a frog but well actually it still is!

This is just speculation. If I'm not mistaken we have heard comments about customization around here before but no one really knows what Kaz has up his sleeve. In the past few days with the new trailer and all the new screenshots I saw a 2010 Camaro SS and a 2010 Camaro SS that had racing stripes on the hood. These stripes appeared to be the factory stripes that can be added as an option on the new Camaros. I've attatched two pictures of the Camaros, both are in the back but they were the best I could find. I think there could be some factory options to choose from when buying new cars in GT5. Wheels, stripes, appearance packages, etc. This possibility is exciting to me. Tell me what you think.

I would like to be able to pick from the factory options, but I'm hoping it goes further than that as well ;)

We had the choice to choose stripes or solid colors in Prologue. It was part of choosing what color you wanted when buying the car. The Vipers, Ford GT, and some other cars, also.

Firstly to the people saying its stupid having 950+ cars because you won't drive them all, you will just stick to like 20.That is just stupid because not everyone likes the same car, so its catering for everyone.

It would be awesome if you could fit different body kits with different aerodynamic properties and add things like rear wings and front splitters. Then have lots of detail in internal parts, like adding new stiffer springs or fitting a masssive turbo :D Then being able to use the livery editor to finish it off :)
Basically, i want to take my stock car and turn it into my own fully fledged racer!

I reckon livery editor , but it would also be an added bonus if we could put our ID on the plate just for that personal touch :dopey:

Seriously, there's just going to be loads of guys online taking the piss by using rude words on their license plates. *pictures chavvy Peugeot 106 with sexual slang on its license plate*

I'm waiting for the first person to customize 'Baby On Board' stickers in their rear window. 👎

Doubtful that you can paint on windscreen, but who knows.

If there will be a livery editor, all my cars will be red and will have logos on them that rimes with "hero", if you know what i mean. ;)

TBH ... I like to drive stock cars cuz you actually get to feel how these car will feel in real life ... like weight, turnin angles etc. Customized cars well Ive never been fond of that but then again its my personal opinion. Car Im lookin forward drivin in this game are Reventon, Veyron, Challenger, Shelby GT and Camaro ... these are on top of my list at the moment .... oh yeah McLaren F1 ofcourse.

not to speculate too much but hopefully with customization comes accessories.U know pod lamps and mudflaps for rally cars, canards and diffusers as well as paint and livery creator/editor. One of my biggest gripes with GT sine GT1 has been (if i create a rally/race car i want it to look like a rally/race car especially now that we have day/night transitions oh and if i do a muffler upgrade it would be nice to see it visually as well as hear the sound change.:indiff:

Those were just factory colour options, not anything to do with customization ( where you're the one making stripes, etc. and not just choosing options ).

Probably, but does it really matter? These things also happen in real life and makes them easier to spot and avoid like the plague ( probably the same sort of people who act as punters ).
I will focus on the people who actually made an effort ( regardless of talent, if the tool to create custom liveries is easy to use it becomes just a question of taste I suppose ).
And for those blessed with creative talent and skill to act as inspiration ( hoping I will be one of those, at least giving me the pleasure to fully explore this possible feature ).

I'd rather see racing customisation options rather than a livery editor including bodykits.

I've got Forza 3 and the livery editor pretty much ruins every car, except those who add nice looking racing liveries.

But really, I'm not TOO fussed about customisation, unless I'm given the option of race speccing my car like in GT1 and GT2!

Well, but isn't a Super GT Supra just another Supra, or a NASCAR Camry just another Camry? ;)

He does have a point. Some of the selections among race cars are just liveries, aren't they? How about the tuners, the Concept by GT cars?

I do like the range of cars that GT offers, but this is the one thing I like about Forza, the ability to modify and paint up any number of cars, from tuners and enthusiast class race cars up to some serious muscle, like BTCC and DTM. No hoping for DLC, just do it yourself. And engine swaps, yes. Drive train swaps... yes, if it's done right, such as part of a legitimate Tuner or Race Mod conversion. The way T10 did it in Forza ruined it.

If we're counting a four-year-old demo as "first glimpse"...

That is the tuned ITR from the GTHD demo.

And also in the GT:HD demo, they even had blue anodized wheel lugs on the tuned Cappuccino. Which hints some sort of paint shop. Why else would they have such small pieces colored?

How does that hint at a paint shop? They were just aftermarket rims.

lol, I find myself often coming to these "speculation-threads" to get good laugh.

Keep up the good work guys. :)

IMO seeing the the customization part in that PS3 does everything ad, and not seeing really nothing dealing with customization i think we will get more information in the upcoming events 👍

Yep, in the new trailer Vettel and Newey will be replaced by Chip Foose and Xzibit..........;)

Anyone noticed the spoiler on the black TVR Tuscan in the E3 trailer? hint at customization? or do regular Tuscans have a spoiler (i don't think they do)

How are spoilers any different from GT4?
The spoiler, the wheels, the tires, and the side exiting exhaust on the TVR all hint at PREMIUM cars, at least, having more extensive customization options.
