Hey Guys.

When GT5 was released, there were alot of bugs and problems.

But with all those updates till now, GT5 became a much better game.

Now there are Hybrids aswell.

I know there is alot of work left, but i think PD is working hard to get the next game right.

What you think?

Agreed in a way, but GT5 was still a good game not awful when it came out lol. I've been gaming long enough (both console and MMORPG) to know that when a game first comes out, it rarely gets better. However, PD has actually patched many things into this game that have made it a more enjoyable experience whilst playing since it was first released... And for that, i give my thanks.

but we need many more.... 6 years and we got this boring game...

agreed, but somehow its disturbing to see how long it took them to fix a wall.

Dude, it's console, you can't expect much more. If you want more go play MMORPG's like i do aswell.

GT5 got better because it was released unfinished. Simple as.

True in a way, but i have seen worse, MUCH worse.

But yes, there obviously were still some major adjustments to make in GT5. The exp patch was in my opinion the biggest decision that should of been made pre release. Everyone grinded the hard way, then they up the EXP and dont fix the SS7 bug for a week. That deserves huge sarcastic 👍 !

everyone here is right. 👍

But i dont think PD is taking long to Update/Patch the game. This SSR7 Glitch, they actually patched that fast. (1 Week is fast for a console game i think)

But i am still excited when the first DLC comes out (if it comes) :sly:

A glitch like that should of been patched within 1-2 days of it being found. Should of taken no more than 1 day. Since it came out just before a weekend i dont know if that takes a hold on the situation because most programmers and developers still take time off on the weekend, however it shouldnt of taken a whole week regardless.

Even prison food starts to taste better with time. If all you eat is prison food, you get used to prison food. What at first tasted nasty begins to taste normal. In other words, if you didn't play GT5 for a few months and decided to pick it up again, you'd probably retreat back to those original feelings - it's not getting better. I'm reminded of that every week or two when I come back to play the seasonal events. If I played it every day I'd think it was improved as well.

I dunno, all I can say is that I legitimately feel that I am getting my money's worth from the game.

As a game it's still awful(at least compared with forza, etc). As a simulator though I don't think there is a console game capable of beating it which is why I got it.

I love GT5 great game in my top 3 behind fallout 3 which I spent way over a thousand hours on hahaha but GT5 is by far my favorite racing game :) I don't like the new seasonals but not like I can do anything lol

With all the people exploiting the game surely PD should realise the in game economy is bunk? They should be applauded for supporting the game but should also be chastised for not fixing really bad aspects of the game, that directly led to people seeking exploits. which has led to PD wasting time blocking these exploits.

Agreed 👍 Problem is although I'm glad there updating and fixing the exploiters...the damage is done, it's like " closing the gate after the horse has bolted" the only good thing I can think of about all those who duped and cheated there way to having all those expensive cars is in my experience people like that who cheat to get everything usually get bored and leave the game because there is nothing more for them to do 👍

well.... i dont think so...
and whats the matter of console? the "new "final fatasy sucks..^^ dont want to buy or play it

just look at gt4 /ps2 best racing game ever... now 6 years later we get gt5 and :grumpy:

98% gameprogress must wait for endurance save/ or play online with friends....

theres no reason to play gt5 till enduro save (if you have nearly all golded, or a life)

:

It is fast.
Surprise me. :p

is getting better bugs wise.
In new features, i wouldent say so.....

cause 99% of this "new" features (like power limiter, add weight, PP, etc etc) ...were in previous GT's and people like I too, were expecting them to be there.... but PD for some odd reason didnt added them to the disc.

Must wait? They don't HAVE to do anything because....

theres no reason to play gt5 till enduro save (if you have nearly all golded, or a life)

You have a pause button! Use it! lol....

they needed the money too so they waited a bit to fix it ;)

Overall I am pretty happy with it...I've owned every GT except GT4, but still played most of it (didn't have a PS2 anymore at that point)...

what surprises me though is that so many people are surprised at the state GT5 was released in...it did take forever...but its nothing new for a GT game...GT2 was FULL of bugs and 100% rushed...all kinds of localization errors were everywhere (ride height was in cm, instead of mm, which made it that a ride height of 110 cm was accurate?)...cars in the game for certain events simply didn't exist?...the game save bug that would delete your entire garage randomly?...

yeah GT3 was nearly flawless, but it was by far the 'smallest' retail GT release of all of them...GT5 fits in the mold overall i'd say...it has its issues, but its the first GT to easily be update'able...

so we did get involved with a rolling beta I guess...but at least its getting updated quite often for free...

as far as content goes...the game is awesome...plenty of stuff to do...plenty of cars...but the content inadvertantly shows how rushed the title was overall...the premium/standard car fiasco...the impossibly lame character models and animation when people are standing around your car after a license test...the game just wasn't done...its amazing to think that after this long, and that however many 10's of millions of dollars the game cost to make...but they did nail the driving, thats all i was really expecting...the rest was pretty much par for the course when it comes to PD...

Good updates agreed! 👍 but we still do need many things to improve and fix, to call it "the real driving simulator"... still love the game..!

Look at this poster's sig...

You play GT5 as a sandbox game, then sure, what the hell...

But if you were expecting a logical progression, enough events to not have to grind or repeat races ad nauseam while you earn better and better cars, you were extremely disappointed in GT5, and no update has done a damn thing about that.

What has PD added so far, that wasn't just a feature missing from GT4 or GT5p? Oh yeah.... Remote B-Spec. Where's the yawn emoticon?

Haha, true.

Anyway, GT5 is a solid game. If it continues to improve at its current rate for the next 6-12 months, it may actually be remembered as something great, joining former GT games with the title of "masterpiece."

Currently, however, it's just a GT title that was 4-5 years late.

Hey Guys.

i just want to say something:

GT5 Release was awefull.... full of bugs etc.

but with all those updates till now, GT5 is way better.

What you think?

(sorry for bad english)

This hasn't changed one bit.

Well, I enjoy the game a lot. It's not perfect, but I still have a great deal of fun with it and appreciate it for what it is.

The game started out as good, but thanks to the 1.05 and 1.06 update, things have gotten considerably more enjoyable. While the game may not be perfect yet as I have a lot of things I would like to see in the game added or fixed up, the positive does outweigh the negative and that's why I love playing this game.

Yep it’s evolving into a super game and fast. For them to fix the glitches in a week is nothing short of amazing. If you know anything about how to fix and actually implement a patch with all the boxes to tick for testing and many other obligations you must adhere to before release, you would be amazed too. Those who say it took too long must step up and tell PD how to do it quicker if they really know how.

What does my sig have to do with anything--other than the fact that I don't feel compelled to brag on a forum about my progress through a video game? It's not like any of you care either...or should care.

Collecting cars, testing them around the Nordschleife, playing online, and doing seasonals...plus the A/B-spec, special events, and license tests--although admittedly short-lived, were satisfying to complete. And with PD continually releasing content for the game, I don't see where I have room to complain, really.

Your mileage may vary, however...and it seems like it does, apparently.

GT5 got better because it was released unfinished. Simple as.

👍 +1

Unfinished? Yes
Unfortunately, that isn't even the biggest issue with GT5.

Don't get me wrong - GT5 is a great game.
Yes, there's inherent limits on what any console game can do.

However, if I just put it out there, GT5 is just an underperforming game (because of such high expectations) full of bugs (from minor glitches some chose to exploit to a crashing machine) - on top of being an unfinished game - take took unfathomably too long to hit the shelves (I'm glad I'm new to the series, I can only imagine how the wait was for those waiting to hop from GT4 to GT5).

Oh, I'm not gonna stop playing any time in the immediate future, unless I somehow fry my PS3. I just hope that the updates - both to fix and expand the game - keep coming, or the time when I'll have had enough with GT5 will be here. If it happens, it will have happened way too soon...

(Just my opinion.)

Peace...
