Gran Turismo 5 getting better or worse?

my only problem with the game is that it's quite short. i was done with everything but the endurance races in less than a month. Most people (myself included) don't have the patience for the endurance races, and honestly I don't want to race with a bunch of douches online.

The worst thing about new generation games is that they spend so much time working on the online portion of the game that the single player is garbage.
 
and where are the expansion dlc's? This is probably the only game I own that I'm ready and willing to spend MORE money on. Can I get a pikes peak race? Some decent cars as prizes for spending 2.5 hours on an endurance? Some new cars (mustangs have 5.0's now).

A glitch like that should of been patched within 1-2 days of it being found. Should of taken no more than 1 day. Since it came out just before a weekend i dont know if that takes a hold on the situation because most programmers and developers still take time off on the weekend, however it shouldnt of taken a whole week regardless.

They probably had it fixed, but it has to go through the Console Company's quality check or something in that nature before it is released as a patch/DLC/etc. At least that's what I heard.

But regardless, PD is a great company.

Still my favorite racing game of the generation (possibly favorite game of the generation, regardless of genre) and I'm glad PD is still supporting it.

I think the PS3 hardware really help back a lot in this game and I'm excited for a Gran Turismo release on the PlayStation 4. I think most, if not all of my complaints about GT5 will be resolved in the next iteration.
 
I'm hoping that with all the experience that GT5 gave them, they should be prepared to make GT6 a historical game.

It will be most likely released on PS3, they've been working on it since before gt5 was released, and whilst fixing gt5s bugs, so there's no need to start again for the ps4.

Personally, i feel that the PS4 is coming too soon. Sure the technology is getting better quicker, but if the ps4 is released this year, when's the ps5? 2017? I'm not waiting for the ps4 to drop over half its starting price only for the next gen to be released a year later. Its ridiculous, to be frank.

I've only had Gt5 for a couple of months and am slowly but surely losing interest, once you got used to the visuals the wow factor goes somewhat, there isn't enough of a challenge in the career mode what with the Ai being so useless and the lack of leaderboards makes it impossible to gage how good or bad you're running. The car class system is weird, how doesn't suspension/tyres etc effect anything??

I like the physics but running without ABS and TCS is hit or miss, cannot run smoothly like I could with forza.

If anyones got any ideas about how I can get 're'interested I'd love to know, can't race online as my broadband speed is useless :grumpy:

Did GT5 deliver on a game that made every penny worth it's $60 price tag? Yes.

Was it still worth $50 or $40 months after released? Hell yes!

Is it a STEAL at $19.99 with all the updates? **** YEAH, GET IT!!!

At the same time, was it still a disappointment to the fans and the GT series? EVEN A BIGGER YES!

This game as a 'game' fell so short on sooooo many levels it's not even funny. If PD's intention was to make game worth the price tag then job done and I applaud them but fans of the series along with the long wait time for it's release just failed hard. The updates don't even touch the actual game part - A-spec (which is what I only play).

I've said this before and I'll quote it again, this the best way someone described GT5 and it's 100% true: IGN.com reviewed it and said "It's a 10 out of 10 sim in a 5 out of 10 game.".

I agree, it's more of a simulator than a game. But I think it's better for Gran Turismo to be more simulator than game, if it was more game than simulator I don't think I would be very interested in it.
 
There's ways to keep it a sim while making it fun to progress in a game.

It's not impossible...
 
i'd still give it 6 out of 10. inconsistent, great in places, too short, and the engagement of PD (DLC every 2 months lol) has put me off giving them more money easily.

In short i would not pre-order GT6
 
I give Gran Turismo a 7 out of 10. I got a G27, and i played alot of Games with my wheel like :
PC: pCars, LFS, iRacing, GT2, rFactor.
PS3: GT 5 , Shift2 , TDU etc.
And one of the best experience i had playing with the G27 was in Gran Turismo 5.
