Gran Turismo 5 Release Date?

Lol, this wait is eating me I have been constantly looking at updates to Gt5 since 2005 actually and its been since Gt4 came out that I havent actually got that deep into a racing game, iam crossing my fingers for a 09 launch we racing fans and sony at its current position with the Ps3 really need it.Or at least launch GT Mobile dam that game was announced at E3 in 2004 and is still as Kaz says "In Development".

I'm backing you up, bought my ps3 for GT5 and now it's almost 2 years old and still no idea when this ******-game gonna come out. I think when it comes out i will have to buy a new ps3 cause my current one starting like a diesel(i have to warm it up for 10 min before it can read bluediscs, this is true!!). A worldrelease in the half of 2009 and i shut-up my complaints if it's in 2010 or later i really hope PS3 will lose it's battle against X-box so they wake up!!!!! yeah, THIS IS A WAKE-UP CALL for you Sony!!!! If you don't bring it out in 2009, X-BOX will have their new console(X-BOX 720?) and bring better games out and we'll be outdated with our GT5, and this will be a big slap in your face SONY!!!

Well, that "article" from oxcgn guy is the most blatant piece of crap I've ever read about anything. And I have read so much crap in my life. But whatever.

About X360 - I do not play it any more, I even have that crap "force feeback (NOT)" wheel, I will play it once when Race Pro arrives.

And I agree with Famine, Forza 3 will probably come out later than GT5, maybe not even on this generation on consoles. I do not know was Chespace serious or kidding in many of his Neogaf posts, but if I remember well, Turn10 is actually doing some other driving (not racing) title at this moment, leaving Forza 3 in far plan.

I must say I never bought my PS3 for GT5 or for any game for that matter at the time. I bought it because I liked the wide ranging features it had other than just the gaming element.

Does seeing so many good racing titles coming out on 360 annoy me? well to some extent I wish that I could afford both consoles to get in on Forza 2/3 Race Pro etc but im not about to say 'screw you sony' and jump ship just for that reason.

GT5 will come when it comes, even if it didnt make its 09 release im not too fussed. Im more fussed about the promised fall update for GT5P which we still havent recieved... I still think GT5P has milelage in it.

I'll agree with that mate. If GT5 is gona be a 2010 releas then I at least hop a couple of updates are lined up.
 
The issue I have with updates is that firstly this is my opinion on this the more we get the less we will be excited about in the game lets say prologue is 50% of the full game at one stage and then the real deal comes out I think no one would really be as hyped, another issue is sure everything in prologue updates can be used in the real game but it takes many hours to implement a new part of a game into an exsisiting one and id rather have them focus on the real game instead of constantly updating I seriously wouldnt mind if we didnt get another update for prologue as long as the real game came out one - 2 months earlier this way because i know i have sucked about 95% of the gameplay GT5 Prologue had to offer and an extra car or 2 wont give me more then a couple of hours of enjoyment if that.
 
Gamecentral have the UK release date as March.

I realise that's optimistic, but GC are reliable and you would at least hope the games released sooner than anticipated.

Most European retailers have GT5 down for release before the summer.

KY says the target date is 2009, but they might not make it, he never said 'not in 2009'. (though if KY has any doubt they can make 2009, its a pretty grim chance then)

The first interesting bit is that GT5 may not make it out in 2009 afterall, he says they 'would have wanted GT5 to come out in 2009'. 2009 is definitely still the target time frame, but they may not make it.

I have to correct myself. GT5 may not make it in 2009...

He is an official insider at Blu-ray.com.

I queried whether he was repeating the 2009 rumour that has been knocking around, but no, SCEE, internally, have it officially listed as a 2009 release.

Whatever else you may read, Sony Europe, at least, fully expect the title to be released in 2009.

Please dont post stuff like that when your only source is an "insider at internet forum X".
And btw. 2009, listed, still means nothing. It still can be December 31 2009 and it also can be delayed.

GT5 will probably make it out in 2009 (atleast for Japan anyway).Race Pro only ships with 15 tacks and MS set the DLC prices wich means anout 5 pounds for an track.The fanatec wheel wont be shipping till june anyway so you have to wait. T10 havent announced there next game and i doubt its going to be Forza or they would have told people about it by now.

'2009 will be a dull year for gaming' - Responding to a question of whether GT5 will see an '09 release.

Followed by a PM that it is on the '09 SCEE schedule with a yet to be announced final date.

He doesn't work for Sony, you are lying or have been carried along by him. If he did work for Sony I would expect him to be alot more mature, you know what with all that being high up in the finance department and all.

EDIT: And on the Thread you have directed me towards, He doesn't post any actual proof of a release date.
