I think it's used to allow the driver to give other players the virtual "bird" when you get punted off the track, you can also wait for the guy to come back next lap so you can throw your virtual helmet at his car as he passes>

A necessity now GT has the Nascar license. Rumour has it punch ups are possible if you have the second move.

3D is a big reason. I bet once 2008 passed, that Sony was sure they'd wait until the tvs came out to make big profit. But I think it'll flop (the 3D crap).

now consider 3D BRAVIA + PLAYSTATION 3 + GT5 bundle ;)

it's soooo easy to understand why we aren't playin gt5 right now.

its the head tracking function, i guess

... but still got no clue how they are gonna pull that of

...maybe you will need a giant glowing bubble on your forehead which will make you look really uncool. especially when you gf sees that :D

Will the colours, sharpness and vibrancy take hit when playing in 3D or will it be just as sharp as the 2D model?

Yep, the latest news is that the only way you'll be able to control the car is by rotating the wand about a horizontal plane.

Yeah rereading the article. It is possible to use the move to replace tires, refuel the car, hold the lollipop, and clean the windshield. Four motion controllers can be used on one PS3.

The color changing globe will give an indication that the task has been completed.

Is it possible we're getting what we wanted? Complete Reality.

E3 is coming in June. We'll know for sure.

When is Modnation suppose to release?

I just saw something interesting in that page lol. I hovered over the featured games, and I saw that the Modnation release is labeled 2010, but GT5 is labeled coming soon. Wonder why it doesn't say 2010. Anyway, I thought there might be a slight chance that it might mean that GT5 will be coming before Modnation racer.

Again, it's just something funny I noticed. It's not suppose to be a big discussion or anything. We all know what they mean by "soon" anyways.

Lol i noticed that to ... :dopey:

Ways it could work:
- livery editor
- menu selection
- controlling photo/replay mode

Ways it would be terrible:
- anything related to driving
- anything else at all

I too am just assuming that since Move includes the PS-EYE, that head-tracking is what is being referred to, or at least, that's all I really want from it!..

As for how it works, assuming you have normal lighting conditions, it will use facial recognition, it knows where your eyes/nose/mouth etc are, and it can reliably track which way you are looking etc, there are plenty of head tracking demo's using normal web-cams..

Of course for accuracy and reliability, products like the TrackIR use a target clipped to the head or similar and track that, since it's a fixed size etc, it is far more tolerant to low light and much more accurate then facial recognition, and pretty much uses the same methodology as the move Wands..

That's not to say that facial recognition only is hopeless, it's just a little constrained.

Hey GTP. Just want your opinions on if you care that if 0GT5 will have these accessories or if you don't care.

They should use the sixaxis for head tracking seriously!
Why do you want the MOVE for, couldn't they use the damn sisaxis?
What the Funk is the sixaxis for then?

It would work if Move was compatible with GT5. The precision of Move would make it easy to use a livery editor.

For actual racing, the casual gamer could hold Move on its side and use it to control the car. Unlike he SIXAXIS, Move has 1:1 tracking and would be much more precise than the SIXAXIS. Obviously this feature wouldn't be for GTPlanet (the hardcore gamer).

I doubt Move would delay GT5 further considering Zipper Interactive only needed 2 days to implement it... I am curious how it would be used, but hardly... Would be cool if it was used in car customization like a paintbrush.

How about the Move also to be used in a track editor and lovely mini games in a TopGear setting. :dopey:

Edit> TopGear mini games could be something like shooting speed camera's while driving.

Presto said. Thanks to a source close to Official PlayStation Magazine we became aware of how important these titles will be exploited with the device for detection of movement. We start from Gran Turismo 5. The title was developed by Polyphony Digital will enjoy the PS Move to navigate through the menu and, interestingly, to create more easily customized Paths. One of the hidden features that we revealed and the ability to create previously unreleased tracks.

GT is a racing game, not a party game.

Plus, we don't even know if they actually have the Top Gear license or just the license to use the track(which isn't owned by Top Gear/BBC).

Yes, certainly up until now, but Kazunori Yamauchi has also indicated that he wants GT5 to be more accessible. Also, GT PSP has a party mode for Ad-hoc races. I don't expect GT5 to incorporate party like game options (and don't care for them either), but we won't know for sure until the game comes out.

This is dumb. I think the only reason for all these delays are for all these new stupid accessories no one is going to use. Track navigation and sync, move, the wand, 3DTVs?! Seriously? Sony get your head out of your ass and sell the game already. Stick it to GT6 to support all these useless items
