I know what I'm talking about, which is something that cannot be said about "bigspleen", who btw is a user that registered today only to complain.

Actually a potential GT6 on the PS4 could max it right away: on this genre things can get pretty demanding. The discussion is if GT6 on PS4 would be a better game than it on the PS3, besides improved graphics (that won't be a night and day difference anyway, considering hardware and assets).

And what will compete with forza5 on the graphics side of things is Drive Club, which blows forza4 and gt5 away. That's sony's staple for release date, and hopefully pCars makes it to both next gen consoles so there's a direct comparison there too.

No you clearly are clueless.

The ps4 has share and online functions that come with the console ps3 cannot do.

The ps3 was dated 4 years ago, and kaz himself complained how it held his vision back, you know more then him?

Ai and physics are very CPU intensive, that is fact, and having more of it would allow Kaz and team to really leverage the ps4 hardware to make a way more advanced physics and driving engine.

The extra memory would allow way more freedom to cram way more detail, content into the game. Ever wonder why shadows, day and night, damage is so limited in GT5? Ps3 limited ram that's why. Ask Kaz he said the limited ram was an issue.

This is nothing more the GT5 spec III, a cash grab.

The ps4 is akin to a high end PC right now, there is a MAJOR leap from ps3 to ps4, saying otherwise shows your clueless. MAny devs have stated this, I'll take their word over yours.

The unified archiecture of the PS4 further gives develpers way more to work with. Devs with more to work with = better games.

I asked you to name one aspect that's out of GT6 because of the PS3. Still haven't said one. Be concrete, specific.

I find funny that you aren't banned here after insulting everyone and creating an account today just to complain (100% of your posts are).

Best for users? He must mean best for the developer and publisher. Of course, he might suggest that we're better of not buying the PS4 at launch but that doesn't make much sense.
It's just acknowledgement from PD, and in turn Sony, that a huge portion of consumers are wise to the fact that you're better off waiting for a big price drop, or even the first hardware revision, before buying a new console. Can't say I blame them, to be fair. It may be the case that taking the PS4 route would be effectively handing sales to Project CARS on PS3. GT6 is guaranteed to do huge numbers.

It's better for all the people who can't afford a new console or simply don't want to buy it at the beginning for a high price.

Decent shadows

Better start from scratch than porting GT6 to PS4...

*awaits GT7*

Then we get a GT on PS4 with PS2 and PS3 graphics

I´m getting a PS4 for BF4 so I can wait for a PS4 version of GT... Seems like Sony is doing weired stuff at the moment... Can´t imagine that T10 would bring out an Forza on x360 shortly before a new next gen xbox release...

“We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind"

Oh come on guys, this is obviously an "Oh yeah, the thought has crossed my mind" type thing. If they had done any work on this whatsoever he'd be saying "We're working on a PS4 version right now." This is Kazanore Yamauchi we're talking about - he's never seen a question he couldn't answer yes to.

I used to be firmly in the GT6 on PS4 camp, but after thinking about the enjoyment I feel when running my Standard cars around my Course Maker track, I've changed my mind. The presentation sealed the deal.

avens is out to lunch. Clearly, the more powerful system you have, the better the modeling of whatever aspect you care to name can be. There's a reason that Cray supercomputers were the go-to system to model everything from nuclear weapon detonations to weather patterns, and still are. Graphics are just the most visible aspect of computing power, and PS4 will have the resources to allow for amazing... everything. Ram alone will allow for more realistic sounds, and lots of them. The GPU will provide the basis for exquisite night lighting, and paint with much more realistic metallic and pearl finishes. It's up to the developer to use that power well, but with the hardware resources and easier coding, it's definitely a massive jump in potential over PS3.

But still, GT5 is so good that I thought that if PD could just open up the GT5 engine and work on scavenging processor power whenever and wherever they could, streamline code and what not, they could improve GT6 to the point that it might be close to what it could be on PS4. Night lighting and number of cars on track, as well as sounds, will likely be similar to what we have now, and the Movie Maker will remain about as impossible to realize properly. But GT5 laid such a good foundation that GT6 might be as close to a sim to make the differences arguable. For me and some others, they already are.

The PS4 game does need to hold off for more than a year to allow the market to absorb GT6 and generate that profit PD and SONY need to fund GT7. Sure, Forza 5 will make a huge splash, but this will allow Kaz and the team the benefit of a couple of years to realize what can be possible on such a potent system as PS4.

Based on the general information we've been given about GT6 I don't think it's going to make much sense putting it out on PS4. By that I mean for it to be called GT6 it's going to have to be basically the same game, only "shinier", and I don't see the point of that, especially if it's at a much later date. It makes much more sense to me to create something much bigger and better than GT6 and call it GT7, a brand new game.

I said it before the platform was revealed but a game like GT being cross platform doesn't make much sense. For a FPS or adventure game it does, you can just scale the graphics down and not much else changes. For a game like GT so much can be improved on a better platform that it would only hinder the better system if it had to be very close to the older platform.

Can you imagine how long that would take? It has basically taken 8 years to create GT6 on the PS3 and that's with porting 800 of the cars from previous games. There is NOOOOOOOO way they would start from scratch for the PS4.

GT6 will eventually be ported to the PS4 but the question will be....can we play multi platform? PS3 to PS4 in GT6.

Releasing GT6 on the PS3 the same month as the PS4 will be released will probably be the stupidest thing PD has ever done, and they've done some stupid things in the past...

No matter how good or how much of an improvement over GT5 it will be, it doesn't make sense. It will still be old within a few months after it's release. In one way it's old already because PC's has been ahead of the PS3 since I don't know when and some of the PC sims are miles ahead of what can be done on the PS3, so why are PD wasting their time on a console that is outdated? Because they want money, of course. Well, they won't get it from me.

The PS4 has 8 GB of extremely fast ram. The PS3 has 256mb system and 256mb graphics memory. The difference is huge.

The jump from 2d consoles to 3d polygon proficient was a big leap but let's not forget starfox or the other 3d titles on the SNES. A launch title like Mario 64 helped to bring home the differences though!

I think GT6 on PS3 makes perfect sense. I mean, first of all it is sticking with the whole two games per console business. Secondly, when the PS4 comes out it will rather expensive. Now PD have always tried to pride themselves on working for the fanbase right? So, they've given the poorer of us a chance to play a new game, until we can afford the PS4 and by that time GT7 (Which I bet they are already working on too) will be ready for release.

I am very pleased that GT6 is on PS3, because it means I save up for a PS4 without missing out on my favourite simulator.

He doesn't want to. You know why? He wants to save GT7 for PS4, that's why. But those annoying babies were crying about it "ohhh GT6 isn't on PS4"...

All people want is GRAPHICS! If it is that I'll be very annoyed. :grumpy:

That's the question. How much will the two games share? PS4 GT6 could potentially blow the PS3 version away, but it could also be the same game. In either case, it wouldn't be the first time it's happened to a game.

I suppose that what PD can do is build an adaptive physics engine that can scale what it's doing with the amount of resources available. On PS4, the physics could run at a high frequency, and cars could be more complex, possibly consisting of many independent objects, while the PS3 models them as one lumped object.

Then again, that sounds like a lot of work that might just be better suited to its own game.

GT6 on PS3 great idea makes sense all that data gained from GT5, tricks learned that couldn't be implemented by updated all stuffed into GT6 for PS3 what a way to send off the old Blu Ray playing demon!
PS4 will get a GT based on this upcoming GT, simple is because Kaz specifically said they built an engine that can be ported and added upon easily. Every bit of data that was collected for GT5 was done so to the highest level possible to ensure that they won't have to go and redo things like they had to when doing standard to premium conversions. Therefore the cars in GT5 more than likely have models that go far beyond the 3 million polygon count the cars in GT5 currently use for premiums, the courses are probably the same way but PS3 needs to balance out visuals so the courses get a good bit of loving from the data sadly most courses are devoid of animation so trees are stiff as bricks. Assuming that they have such highly detailed data including engine sounds, PS4 GT7 could be one seriously insane game.
I feel that car visuals need a slight bump in visuals then up the grid to about 40-50 cars, tracks side details need to be enhanced, populate the course for when you have full grid races, sounds, ambient noises crowd cheers, actual wind that interacts with trees(basically add atmosphere to the courses). Have all courses with day/night cycle and weather appropriate to location with option to use real time data or manual mode, allow you to actually switch off lights on your car at night(essential for cat and mouse racing and follow the leader type races). Fix the output of sounds it's insane that transmission whine is so loud on some cars it drowns out the engine note and make sure that audio balance is correct when revving through the RPM's, nothing worse than losing the bottom end sound on a V8 when you reach 8,000RPM's and it gradually turns into a 4 banger and also please stop making artificially distorted race muffler sounds for cars, it's wrong. Race muffler usually means the car has no catalytic convertor or a muffler it's just a straight pipe and believe you me on a V8 that is one noisy monster. Stock vehicles should be recorded from that vehicle scanned in the game but racing sounds must come from the engine type size and cylinder count without mufflers in place since race cars have exhausts and not mufflers. Allow adjustment of independent sounds for the end user and please record the correct sounds for a manual transmission with clutch, I hear nothing when I shift which is weird there should be sounds and also add the grinding of gears sounds too. This is the tip of the iceberg but hey if they can just do these things GT7 will be something to behold especially if it continues to build upon GT5 and 6 foundation and continues to improve user feel and feedback.

GT6 on PS3 will attract people to buy PS3 or keep their PS3s and get a PS4. it's obvious that PS3 will get a price cut when PS4 is out, and there are a lot people that don't own PS3 yet but want to. when they buy the PS3 for a low price they will want to try out the newest and probably last good PS3 game (GT6)

I can only imagine that the next GT title for PS4 will be Prologue or GT7.

The idea of having another GT6 just sounds so awkward.

When you're pushing new hardware and wanting to promote your best selling series, you don't call it Gran Turismo 6....again. Especially not when that same title came out on an older system.

So, Forza 5 will be a launch title for new Xbox One. Hopefully PD gets GT6 ready for PS4 soon... I like that rubber floating around :-)

I still think it'd be madness to release 'GT6', as in the game we've seen announced, on PS4. For one there is no way on god's green earth they can get away with standard cars on PS4 so the car list will be shorter and if they are going to add a lot more features to take advantage of the extra hardware why give it the same name and make customers think it's just the same game?

The next GT game on PS4 has to be GT7, not GT6.

Yeah I dont' think the next GT game for PS4 will be another GT6, Kaz even said that by that time it will most probably be GT7.

After your expectancy of GT6 on PS4 instead of PS3 (with some good reasons) and PD going dead opposite to your views, I can expect GT6 on PS4.

If its GT7 we are talking 2018.
