HUGE DROP FOR US!!!!!!!

It looks like every car released since last Spring has been added to Sophy. Notice the upper left says "compatible with Sophy" just in case there is doubt.

EVERYTHING as far a I can tell. Time for full F1 grids with 3500A and B!! Power pack cars! Suzuki Carry and Honda One racing...this is a HUGE update for the custom race crowd!!

BTW, I updated the race manager with sorting for the season editing pages and an update to the history page. Download the files from my github (like in signature)

EDIT - WARNING - Boost Weak has changed. You may want to revise your races. Also, Sophy works worse than before the update on some cars. I did a Suzuki Carry race, and they ignore their hard tires. I put mine on the stock CM tires, and it was still a cakewalk. The most difficult setting was NO boost. I did an F1 race, and Boost Weak was still the most competitive setting, so it is no longer a set it and forget it type of thing. Strong boost was also affected. With the Carry, the strong boost let me pass the entire field at Interlagos within the first lap (almost by the fourth turn). There will be disappointment.

I did a quick test at Le Mans with Hypercars (where rubberbanding strikes the most) to jauge if something beyond the newly added cars was different.

First of all, the tyre bug is still present. Cars only use their default tyres unless if fitted with Racing Hard tyres.

- AI laptimes -
Boost off / player last : 3:43.450
Boost off / player first : 3:35.087

Boost weak / player last : 3:39.791
Boost weak / player first : 3:25.679 (I was slowing them down)

Boost strong / player last : 3:51.040
Boost strong / player first : 3:27.289

Boost weak + Rabbit / player last : 3:39.761
Boost weak + Rabbit / player "first" : 3:38.801 (1s improvement mostly due to less fuel in the tank)

Nothing changed here, Boost weak stays the best answer to rubberbanding when using a rabbit. You just have to accept to crawl along like a LMP2... At first glance, the hybrid system's battery seems to stay full despite a fairly slow pace, but I haven't tested it over a long distance.

PD sure did make this a tough update. I’ve got to run multiple set ups of the same car to see what fit. Wide body with or without aero, wide body w/wide or skinny tyres, wide body slammed or skinny body with or without aero, Camber -5F/-4R, soft damper compression, hard damper expansion… the cars feel good though. Reggie seems to be responding good, but still not at full throttle. However, a three car test at Tsukuba with SOPHY in the 22B and Integra, just left me for dead. Good stuff.

Has anyone figured out how ‘championship’ damage works yet? From a quick test I had some front bumper damage from a hard hit that stayed for at least a lap? Might it be to do with the force of a collision?

I did a tiny test and it gave me front bumper damage with very little contact. I like it so far.

has sophy been acting really weird for anyone after this update? i had a gt300 inspired grid doing 2:12-2:14 laps on suzuka, but after this update several cars fell to 2:20+, with one even dropping to 2:41 (skyline r31). upon watching the replay, i found that the ai was being extremely conservative, almost slowing down to a halt for every corner

Sophy might not be trained with the new physics yet. You would think they'd cover that before updating the physics, though.

Wish we had got some more compatible tracks too, but all of the new cars is acceptable. 😄 Now I can do another 2.4 hours of LeMans race, but add the new hypercars. Since I will be in a GT3 car, they will essentially be the rabbit (multiple rabbits...) so it should be good. Need to start doing some testing.

Did a 20 lap race last night at Road Atlanta with GT3 cars and it was pretty good. Lost a couple spots off the start but over 15 laps or so I picked them off one at a time while fending off a challenge from another car that was moving forward with me. Ended up P6 I think.

Since that was the last thing I did in the game, going to run another right now to see how it goes with all of the changes. Will report back...

Edit: Did a 10 lap race and spent the whole race fighting in the 14th to 16th range. This was with all the AI cars manually set at the old BOP settings. Then did another 10 lapper with the new BOP turned on and made my way up through the field to 6th. Also noticed the AI cars were slower in a few places than they were with BOP set manually. 🤔

Side note, Sophy is a SUPER late braker now. Good luck out braking them into the corners.
