Extremely slim given how recent they are - but this isn't the thread for that.
Hence the question and not a prediction :). It feels to me that they sometimes do add some very recent cars, like with the GT3RS or the Ioniq 5N (Obviously quite different cars), or am I wrong in those cases and is my train of thought just off there?

Simply put, they weren't added quite as close to their launch as you might think. The 5N was revealed in almost production-spec in July 2023, and the first production-spec cars for media tests was April 2024 - more or less the same time as it launched. That's eight months before it was in GT7.

Even going by the same timeline, the Renault 5/Alpine A290 wouldn't be in the game until July-to-August (reveal February/March 2024, first production-spec media drives in November 2024).

And that ignores the fact that Hyundai announced a partnership with GT and was super keen on getting it into games.

Moving back to the topic to some small degree...

Previous update car highlight #1 (when posted) has a range of 7-42 days prior to a subsequent update, with a median of 22.5 - but that falls to 7-23 with a median of 12.5 if only 2025's are counted.

Previous update car highlight #2 (when posted) has a range of 3-38 days prior to a subsequent update, with a median of 18.5 - but that falls to 3-12 with a median of 8.5 if only 2025's are counted.

If we're expecting a June 26th update, per post one, then #1 is +12 and #2 is +11 - or about right and on the early side of normal respectively. Expect silhouettes this weekend and either #3 around Thursday and #4 around Monday/Tuesday or both after the silhouettes.

(Though the two most notable vehicles that can be accessorised in such a way are a bit lacking hp-wise. For the moment being.)
They are likely to stay that way. Most of the vehicles in question (Ionic 5, CR-V, etc...) are hybrids/EV's. PD has never done an engine swap for a hybrid/EV, and even if they did... you need to remember that ALL engine swaps in GT7 still use the stock vehicles transmission. SO, you'd still have a CVT no matter what engine you end up with. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I think it's best we be realistic about these things.

Who had the closest guess?

I know it wasn’t me.
Getting back to back to back CUV-SUVs, maybe we see a break. Picking from the datamine, past teaser possibilities and a couple videos that have certain cars already in the game.

- Volkswagen Golf GTI ‘05. Previous car in the franchise and slots between the Mk1 and Mk VII.
I would have chosen the MkIII/A3, but might be a bit not special enough.
We have tons of FF turbo hatchbacks in the game and the MkV seems par for the course. The tuning world adored these cars in its time and featured in various race series in Europe. Tartan seats for the win.

- Mitsubishi Starion. Other than a possible SUV or Triton 4x4 or sport wagon like the Legnum VR4, I don’t suspect a people mover being added from the brand. Plus, with sports coupes dominating over any sport sedans in the game, another JDM FR turbo to add to the large Group A era of machines seems inevitable.

- GT Awards or Pebble Beach winner.
The Ferrari 512 S or AAR Eagle has to be good to go. Players are just coming down or rebuilding their banks from pulling the trigger on the W 196 R, it's time to empty them pockets once again.
Going to change slightly to a car Kaz said he owned:
- Mitsubishi FTO
Reason being is the sport coupes probability. Even though it's FF, it's got a V6. There are a host of sports coupes in this game with six-cylinders. Bringing back a Gran Turismo favourite and something two-wheel drive, adds to that contingent.

Similar to the datamine Fiat Couple Turbo. Both cars will be a sort of first FF "sport sedan" three-box car to be available in GT7.

Another SUV 😒...The SUV is the least car culture vehicle ever conceived. It is the anti-car culture vehicle. The compact SUV is the vehicle of people who need a car, but hate cars.

Like, the CRV had potential with GT Auto's big wings and such, but such a horrible vehicle to play. Same with the others. It's like they were implemented under protest.

I'm eager to see what else this update brings.
Thing is, cars were pretty much open body SUVs and covered wagons when first invented. Riding on thirties and forties wheels from the jump. On unpaved roads nonetheless! ;)

Covered wagons were never out of fashion. Here are some early SUVs.

1935 Chevy Suburban Carryall(sound familiar?)

1953 International Harvester Travelall

I’m making use of the ones in the game. Having a bit of fun by not feeling I have to race them.

I agree with those who say no track given these cars. Kaz seems to note "big" updates in his silhouette posts.

I wonder what track will get the World Rally Challenge event for the Lancia? Colorado Springs seems like the obvious choice, but Mount Panorama would be awesome.

You know what I mean. There are vehicles that are pivotal to car culture. The first car, the Wagoneer, and more. The Unimog was great fun. The Kangoo and the Carry... I am waiting with baited breath for them to get Sophy support.

But the SUVs being added are promotional vehicles (literally) and it's a poor promotion. They're not interesting to drive and not fun in any way (and I have tried to give them a chance). It's akin to getting socks for your birthday. The JIMNEY!! The JIMNEY is fun!! Just make them fun...Let me put the JGTC engine in that Honda CRV...SOMETHING.

For sure. That’s why I winked. I’ve long been over what we get. Keeps me sane.

I think the incoming engine swap might be a rally car to a road car swap, it can be the 205 Gr.B engine to a Peugeot (208 or RCZ?) or the Celica Gr.A engine to a Toyota (Corolla GR? Yaris? Or even the 86?)
