Saw a tweet on this but wanted to confirm it myself.

If you close the game from the PS5 home screen while in an endurance race, instead of exiting the event (Retire), it remembers your progress and gives you the option to resume.
It also allows you to do anything else in the game while remembering your progress for later. To test that, I did another Power Pack race, and a regular World Circuits race. The option to "Resume from Progress Data" is still there.

Upon resuming, you are put into a rolling start. Gaps aren't remembered, however cars that were a lap or more down remain such. In that sense, it's a bit like closing the game causes a Safety Car, bunching cars up but not letting anyone get their lap(s) back.
Fuel depletion is remembered, however tyre wear isn't, though the compound you were on is.
Weather radar patterns are also remembered.
And how about closing the game playing something else? Will it remember that state? Or turning off cobsole and going back after some hours?
Did some more tests.
Yes you can play a different game, or turn the console off entirely, and it still remembers your progress.
Also you can have multiple Progress Data saves at once, in different events. For example right now I have a Spa save at lap 33, and a Nürburgring save at lap 11, at the same time.

Another thing I noticed for the Nürburgring endurance race is, if you pass an hour mark while on the Nordschleife, Race Engineer Sarah will wait to tell you until you are on the Döttinger Höhe straight. A very nice detail to not distract you in the middle of technical sections.

Having seen power pack gameplay it's really wasteful how PD don't just use the body kits already in the game to create bespoke tunes for cars and then make those cars as separate vehicles. They'd get to pad the car count, and players get better cars out of the box. It's a no brainer.

All the Trueno and Civic races I saw are excellently tuned race-ready vehicles that everyone would buy if they were offered as-is for people to race in Daily Races and League racing.

Most people just want cars that they can pick up and drive without understanding the unintuitive tuning menus. ACC has more comprehensive and more intuitive tuning and better feeling cars than GT if I want to get into tuning.

GT appeals to people who want to pick it up and play, give us something to pick up and play.

It's a weird one. I was thinking about the GT-R GP-tuned, Levin D-Tuned and Mustang American Racer(AR) when I thought of cars PD made.
Interesting with the PD made cars.

  • kart
  • Civic TC
  • Roadster TC
  • Gr.4 Silvia
  • F1500T
  • F3500A
  • F3500B

Missing Gr.3 and Prototype creations. Would be a nice way to build a career.
It's a shame all the RM and LM cars we've had from previous games are gone. Like the old Muscle car RMs would be great to add to the current stable of PD machines.

The formula cars can run together, but everything else are solo machines. They add the Mustang AR, but not the Dodge or Chevy versions. Hopefully, they add the cars in World Circuit okay.

Technically, spec III update bring 14 cars not 8. The 6 cars from the power pack is not just a reskin. It has different engines.
Different engine specs, different max power limits, (Both the Supra and Mustang AR are 1000+hp fully tuned) different visual/aero upgrades and different prices too.

The first ones you get are free, but you can buy them again from the same point.

Levin D Tuned: 200K
Beetle DR: 250K
Skyline GT-R GP Tuned: 700K
911 Turbo Rally: 700K
Mustang AR: 850K
Supra Road Car: 3 Million

Too bad I'm still on ps4 so I can't try them. I also think the Beetle and Porsche Rally could be getting the Porsche 959 engine swap later.

Possibly, but I mentioned this elsewhere so I’ll throw this out here too.

Considering that two of the PP cars have swaps available for them, whats the likelihood of them potentially using the engines from the PP cars for swaps for all players? 🧐

The AR Mustang and Supra Road Car’s engines would make good candidates IMO.

I want the 1000 hp Supra engine. Hopefully it will be used for swap to all players like you mentioned.

By the way they are bought from brand central right? Maybe we could get them from the roulette?

Nope, the Power Pack cars can be only accessed from the Power Pack menu, you can buy another one of the cars via their markers in the event selection after unlocking them.

I was joking the other day, but I had a big scare last night...
same symptoms as you: no more FFB on my TGT2... steering wheel completely loose...☹️☹️😧😮

I exited the game, restarted the PS5, and luckily everything went back to normal...
A TGT2-specific bug???..🤔🤔🤔

Strange... strange... Did you say strange? .....How strange......🤔🤔🤔
My issue isnt ffb loss.. try drifting a road car with tgt. Put ffb on 1 to make the issue clearer. see how stupidly heavy and slow with corrections it becomes. I cant do the inputs i like because its very weird causing a delay/input lag. Im really really struggling.

Since the 296GT3 is finally in the game now, I'm sure there are people who want to see how close they can come to the time of Franz Hermann aka Max Verstappen.
So, did anyone yet find out how to apply the NLS-BOP to "our" 296GT3?

I found the settings, but only in German:

Ferrari 296 GT3
Fahrzeuggewicht: 1345 Kilogramm
Ladedruck: 1,713 - 2,413 bar
Heckflügel: 6,0 Grad
Anstellwinkel: 0,33 Grad
Sturz V/H: GY: 2,7/2,5 Grad; MI: 3,0/2,7 Grad; PI: 3,1/3,0 Grad; YO: 2,8/2,4 Grad
Tank: 115 Liter

Weight seems rather easy: The car in GT7 weights 1280kg, so we would have to add 65kg. But there's also 115 liters of fuel in the real car, while every car in GT7 seems to have a fixed tank size of 100 liters. I calculate this with a weight of ~850grams per litre, so we add another 13kgs for a total of +78.
For camber, since our car seems to be equipped with Pirellis, we have 3.1 at the front and 3.0 at the back. (Max' car was equipped with Michelins though).
But that's it for me, cause I have no idea how to translate the rest of the BOP settings to in game values.
We can't adjust turbo boost (Ladedruck) or the degree of the wing (Anstellwinkel), so those would have to be converted to power/torque and downforce.
Any ideas?

JGTC, N2 and Fuji Masters are represented.

I feel out of the classic Japanese racing disciplines in the PP, they’re missing this:

If only the N2 races were longer. :indiff:

Still trying to get the 296GT3 close to NLS-BOP.

Question to everyone who's decent at Nordschleife: How much do you think you would be off Verstappen's time (or the official record; it's just tenth apart) at the Endurance layout, if we take the performance of the car out of the equation? But still keeping in mind that the car just got released, so most didn't spend much time with it yet. What seems realistic here? 5 seconds? 10? Or more?

edit: I gave up, it's pointless. There are too many variables. There doesn't seem to be any way to convert the degree settings for the wings to what is called down force here in game. We don't know how realistic the car is overall and we also can't know how the grip compares to the real thing.
Guess I rather try to have some fun in game instead of thinking too much about things like that🙂

Right. Let's talk about Polyphony's incessant need to fabricate difficulty instead of just making their AI drivers actually give you a close contest.

After about the third time of having to do this tedious qualifier because the AI spins themselves and me out and absolutely panic when you try and bump draft them, I decided to see what is actually going on because Inostroza is getting the exact same lap times in that Mazda VGT which is slow in a straight line to begin with.

So I decided to get my quickest lap in by forcing Bonelli to the front of the pack and basically using him as my personal shopping cart to the front of the line. After that I skipped the session til we had just over 1 min left and sure enough Inostroza comes out.

So I hang back and we have the following video:

Oh would you look at that, the qualifier session countdown ends and we are now on our final lap and it just so happens that that Mazda gained 300 hp and shed 600 lbs.

I am still drafting him and getting dusted. Not that it makes a lick of a difference because this race is literally brain dead; the AI don't understand the concept of the title of the race series... bump drafting. If they actually did, it would make for some honest to God fun.

And this is the theme of this DLC. Choosing what pepper your car is doesnt make a difference. The AI cheats, drives unorthodox lines, and will divebomb you any chance it gets.

Thank you, Polyphony. At least I got 5mil credits and some new cars for the price of just 5mil credits from the PS Store, but let's not open that can of worms now 🙃.

I know this isn't the point of the post, but this needs to be pointed out every time someone does it because even PD themselves got this wrong at one point: The RX-Vision is not a Vision GT, it's an unrelated car that Mazda happened to use the word "Vision" to name.

Sophy 3.0 is definitely a mess, though I don’t know if it’s the AI itself or the way it’s implemented.

It’s hard to tell whether the rubber-banding is inherent to the tech or just something PD added because they think fake racing is fun.

I just had a spin at Autopolis from P2, fell back to P6, and caught up with the leader again in half a lap.

It all feels very orchestrated.

I assume this is just going to be a display car rather than one coming to the game.
Remember the BMW M4 GT3 at the Berlin event?
Well, now even Rocket League has that car before GT7.
It's appearing everywhere except here for some reason.

The difference for me between that (the bmw with its launch livery on it) and this (Porsche GT / Dunlop) is the fact this is decked out in Gran Turismo & Dunlop branding, which I think hints are the very real possibility of it coming to GT7 perhaps as early as Jan 26?

Surely the car here will be on display at the finals.

** this is all speculation **

Trying to work out where on earth that building is in Japan. Looking for "Takara Standard" has not done much for me.

I honestly don't like it when they do this.

The last thing I want from main menu UI is for it to be busy like this, especially when it's busy with uninteractable things.
You must be a bundle of joy all the time...
