If the game is actually coming out in the first half of 2021, they really need to talk about new features in detail as it gets closer to release. I'm not fully confident at this point that it'll be much more than GT Sport with a career mode and visual upgrades. Those things are great, but the career mode won't be worth much to me if the AI isn't vastly improved. I also really want to see some basic quality of life features, like being able to turn off 90% of the cluttered HUD. I want to know how many cars can be on the grid, weather conditions, and dynamic time of day (I know the trailer featured a timelapse, but I'm not going to assume that's indicative of the feature itself).
None of these things being absent would ruin the game for me, but this is the only thing that would make me consider buying a PS5, so it has to really be worth it. PD has a history of stubborn resistance to making substantial generational improvements, and with the current generation being the first consoles to support the more hardcore sims, Gran Turismo is only going to appear increasingly archaic if it doesn't step up.
