Only thing I can say to that is not l many people from the USA would know about Japanese car sales. Let alone the N-One Cup.

Of Gran Turismo players? I don't know. I'm sure many that play know of Kei cars, but what's on the market? Depends what continent I guess.
I never heard of the N One here in the good ol US of A. There are a lot of Japanese models that only know about if read about them here. There European cars I don't know about. Heck there a lot of boutique manufacturers here I don't know as I don't keep with the auto news like I used to.

I'm just glad we're finally getting a proper box kei car (Suzuki Jimny aside), besides just having the shrunken sportscar ones. The Honda N-One makes me think of a modern version of stuff like the Suzuki Alto Works from the old games. There's even a 4WD version apparently, so I'm hoping that's the one we get. Still cool either way.

There is AWD available, but it's only on the non-RS models which means a CVT 'box and that means an almost untuneable car. The RS is the best option because it's a six-speed manual.
Oh lordy... If the N-One ends up having a CVT, along with the Qashqi... This forum is going to light up like a Christmas Tree.

The focus on starter cars for a game most of us already started over 3 years ago is certainly something.
I kinda realized having an all-crossover starter for the next game might not be good optics given car internet's disdain for that particular genre of cars, which is creeping up into streak of crossovers added to the game. (Non-crossover compacts like what GT7 offers as a starter are still acceptable.)

Remember when GT Sport's randomly-picked starter cars were all N300 cars?

I mean the ideal situation in my opinion would be to not have the starter car choice (or any car choice for that matter) be linear at all. Just have it be so, if it's within your credits budget, you can buy it.
GT6 was the worst for this, because you only had 1 car to choose from at the start; the Honda Fit. Only after buying it did the rest of the cars become available to buy.
GT7 gives you a choice of 3 cars instead of 1, so it's a bit better but still not ideal.
There should really be closer to 20-30 cars within the starting credits budget to choose from. Maybe even more. That way if someone wants to start with a crossover/SUV (perhaps they could be a good deal), they can. But if someone would rather start with something else, they can too.

Similar can be said for the events. I'd prefer it if they weren't completely linear, instead being able to enter any event in any order, provided your car meets the rules & you have a high enough License.
Allow the option for someone to enter the Lightweight K Cup or FF Challenge before the Sunday Cup if they so choose. Stuff like that.

Delta WRC does have a highest average, but bulk of it was carried by replays (because of TT) and scape photos because of what I feel "the same liveries are enough" effect (same thing with the MP4/4), with the Citroen BX having the most liveries created among the three. And of course, the community sentiment towards crossover SUVs being added to the game continued with Peugeot 2008 having the lowest numbers.

If PD cared about optics (or even knew what they were) we wouldn't have been forced to buy the Fit at the start of GT6. They do what they want, whenever they want, and the playerbase begrudgingly obeys.

GT6 had a problem that GT8 probably won't really have, which is a really bloated roster full of cars that are too slow for the initial races. They don't want newbies buying a Subaru 360 to start, getting frustrated and returning the game. The Fit, IMO, was a really clumsy way around that dilemma.

I think they could have a GT4-esque list of used cars, so there's a good enough selection, perhaps a rotating one, but curated so that every car is usable, either through some light tuning or out of the box. Would be the best of both worlds I think, variety but also playability for all players.

I saw a YouTube video pretty much summing it up.

In classic Pokémon, you had the choice of three starters, and in your entire playthrough you would experience the knock-on effects of that initial choice.

Now, in GT7's world, the next mission after picking your initial Pokémon is to catch the other two which you didn't pick. It destroys any sense of individuality in your career.

Everyone remembers their old bangers they picked up at the beginning of the OG games, and the journey they went on. But in GT7, every player has the same, practically linear experience.

Some speculation on my part:

Assuming it is the Z-tune we're getting on Thursday, PD have clearly had access to Nismo's factory showroom, because that's the only place you're reliably finding one of those in the 2020s (or a 400R, or a road R32 Nismo. Probably the R34 GT500 as well).

I wonder what else they scanned while they were there?

Pure speculation too, but I think the R33 GT-R LM and the R390.

maybe an formula-e nissan, last gen z-nismo, '22 z gt500. Also the R390 and R33 LM that mentioned SSQES

My guesses for what events will get new rounds:

-The Nissan/Nismo/Mine's R34 will either go to the WTC 600 in general, the Japanese 4WD Challenge 600, Race of Turbo Sports Cars, or the actual Nissan GT-R Cup. Especially since that last one also seems to permit the Nismo 400R, so there seem to be lots of ways this could go.

-That Honda N-One is gonna lead to a new round of the Lightweight K Cup, no doubt.

-As for the Nissan Qashqai, I bet it'll go into either the Japanese FF Challenge 450 or the Sunday Cup.

There might also be a One-Make for the N-ONE in the Weekly Challenges.

Probably the Leaf. 😂

What if they just dropped the starting car and credits and you HAVE to start with the License B? (Or A whatever). And they keep the prize cars for Bronze, Silver, Gold and you start your career with those cars opening up events? Even better: you can sell those prize cars and with the credits you earn and you choose your own car? Hmmm GT4 basically.

GT4 still gives you starting money to buy your own car and start some no-license races.

Yes, that's what i'm saying. It doesn't matter if you have a wide variety of cars if you only have a certain number of starting credits. You may be able to start with another starting car, but the flow of the game wont change because of it. It still remains the same and that is to start with no license races with a low PP car.
The only thing that might be interesting is to see how far you can get in the game with another starting car, but in reality i don't think it matters that much. Especially if you count tuning for it.
