An update for my GT7 custom career, which uses the custom race feature, releases on the 31st.

The update has 261 original races across multiple leagues/arcade mode, and a further 90+ that condense the original “Motorsport” career path into a version fully compatible with GT Sophy.

It also has a new drift trial based game mode called Slip Risks with an event for every track and layout in the game.

The career in total has over 1000 races made over two years.

Classic GT style progression, real motorsport focused, or both together.

I think Gran Turismo is the type of game that would benefit from a "New Game Plus" feature, where it would reset licence and career event completion, but in return change up the prize cars(within reason) and tracks run in the career events, allowing players to run through the game again, but with a different experience.

This would incentivise those who want to replay the single player campaign to be able to do so, while also mixing things up so they don't become stale. Especially if the game cranked up the opponent difficulty the second time around.

Not entirely certain how this system would handle a players existing garage and credits, whether to segment it off until passing certain completion, or allowing full access at all times. But it's an idea that I feel would compliment the Gran Turismo formula, especially with their current flow of adding cars that otherwise wouldn't have much use.
I was thinking a bit about this before when I was drafting a comment for the currently dead
Gran Turismo 8 - if you had the power to completely design the experience…
thread.

Sisyphus Mode

A dedicated second (traditional AI) and third save (Sophy) slot that resets at after completing the final championship. The value of all purchases are returned to the primary save upon the end of the run.
  • Maximum garage size of 20 vehicles
  • Difficulty is locked to maximum
  • License tests can only be passed once; Restarts only available after failing the license test, not during.
  • Championship schedules no longer conflict with each other
  • All championship races are set to 100% length
  • There are no restarts per race

License Tier Requirements

The run ends when you fail to win at least 1 required championship.
Upon completion of a championship, you will be locked out of all other championships of the same group. Prize money will be received as applicable.
Once you have completed all championships, you are forced to the next license tier. No looking back!

Other

A public leaderboard for time spent, in-game days, progress and final bank account size is displayed for players to view. Leaderboards are reset after every update. No purchased credits allowed.
Upon completion of a full Traditional AI run, you will have a 🍂 symbol permanently next to your name.
Upon completion of a full Sophy AI run, you will have a permanent Sophy heart symbol next to your name.
No trophies/achievements will be associated with the Sisyphus run.

The design I had in mind was based on managing a in-game calendar of optional invitationals / one-offs and championship events. You'd have a certain number of days between championship events where you were free to do anything, but the optional content would pass one in-game 'day' -- kind of like a more open WRC game career.

I'm not sure what should be done with cars obtained from the UCD and LCD, yet. The lack of player control there is kind of a nightmare to work around unless they design it to work very consistently, like a set of 'slots' for specific tiers of car, or making behave like the old UCD where calendar days have fixed inventories.

The basic idea is that you might need a separate save slot that is mostly isolated from the main save for that kind of replayability. Even a simple NG/NG+ would need it.

Got this content ID match on a video of just gameplay from bonnet cam I uploaded a few weeks back. Copyright bots are confusing GT7 with real life footage  Should be an easy dispute if someone got this on public/monetised video, though.

Unlike the 400R, the Z-tune's 3D model was made from scratch, instead of being based on that of the normal R34 GT-R.
Not bad for the stock R34 GT-R to hold up, despite it being a slightly updated 18 year-old model from GT5P.

So am I the only one that doesn't see the point of adding range-extender EVs os hybrids to the game?

The Qashqai has a 1.3L four-cylinder engine available (albeit with a CVT) but instead we get the most boring powertrain available that sounds like it's constantly revving in neutral.

If they're gonna add more hybrids, they should use the CR-V as a proper example. But I feel like we should at least be able to swap that terrible CVT.

I was thinking the other day, didn't BMW use Gran Turismo 4 in their dealerships to give customers a virtual test drive?
Maybe that kind of thing could be another reason why we've been having an influx of crossover/SUV's lately.

The normal R34 GT-R was newly modeled for GT SPORT.
Ah, I didn't know that. I was thinking of that initially, since the first-gen R8 model in the game had a pretty weird engine bay.
(Edit: Then again, the normal R34 GT-R model has (or had) a weird floating effect on the rear "SKYLINE" text?)

That color, and with the Racing exhaust and anti lag; That Sound!!!

Other than those two parts, otherwise stock, this car is a masterpiece out of the box!!! I’m no alien driver much less a pro, but this machine is absolutely balanced in all aspects!! It’s such a blast to drive!! Yes, for me, this is the icing on my birthday cake (it’s actually today 😄🥳)!!

Happy Birthday. Fun fact: My birthday isn't until next week, but for some reason I got my in game present from GT7 today already.

(Some VGT nonsense that I sold immediately - it's the thought that counts)

Happy birthday to @snowman_pr, and happy early birthday to you! They do it on the week of your birthday rather than the exact day. I remember one year I saw a ticket and was confused since it wasn't actually my birthday lol. May have been a few days before or after.
