I'm excited about this big new update on the way with these two great tracks and the cars that are coming soon.

And about the surprises that are coming, which they'll talk about soon...

I just wish there was finally a new racing interface. Why not the Music Rally HUD? I think it's time to feel like we're in a new game and not a GT Sport 2.0.

And another thing I'm hoping for, but they probably won't do anything about (and I hope I'm wrong) is about Arcade Mode. They should put it in the island menu and make it GT4-style with all the cars available. They should do that now.

I'm excited, but I have a feeling there will be things they won't add and will go to GT8. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't trust Yamauchi

Looking at youtube videos, the 296 GT3 sounds very quiet for a racing car. (Not complaining about it, I think it looks pretty sweet, it's just very quiet compared to other GT3s.)
Sadly, EA bought the exclusive license of 911 GT1 race model.
This isn't true due to how many games it's been in as of recent and why would EA have an exclusive license on that model in particular, assuming you're referring to the Le Mans winning 98?

About the arcade mode thing, idk if PD will make that happen. But I might be proven wrong. I think they should add more things to the game until 2029 or 2030 and then start gt8. But who knows how that will go?

If PD didn't start development of GT8 until 2029, we wouldn't see it until 2037. Pre-production likely began during GT7 development, and right now they're probably working on cars and tracks for it, graphics engine changes, 24h lighting for everywhere perhaps... GT8 Spec II should be out by 2030.

GT7 updates will cease after GT8 announcement and we don't know when that will happen. GT8 is likely for PS6 and we don't know when it will be announced either. I think we will still get updates until PS6 or GT8 announced. Spec 2 was 2 years ago and we have been proven wrong to say GT7 is dying.

I just discovered that PSSR has been released for PSVR2 and that no man’s sky has come out with this.

So with that has there been any discussion that Spec III might introduce PSSR on the PSVR2 for GT7?

Hello community,

I'm very surprised that PD is coming out with something big, although I kind of expected it because Project Motor Racing is coming out at the end of November.

Even if it's not direct competition, some players will migrate away for a while at least. So PD has a responsibility to keep its players.

Another thought: Will this be the end of support for PS 4? I think that if cross-gen support ends, GT 7 would have a lot more potential. There are a few racing games coming up, and the pressure on PD is increasing.

What do you think?

I just removed Project Motor Racing from my wishlist... especially with Le Mans Ultimate heading its way to PS5.

Next year looks to be a great year for PS5, GT7.3, GTA6, MS Flight Sim, LMU - need to sell my wife and kids

Why did you remove Project Motor Racing?

There's also racing coming up.

I'd also be very interested in LMU, but I don't think it will be released for PS 5 in the middle of the year...

And GTA 6, we've all been waiting for that forever and can only hope that it won't be postponed again, as I've heard several times that it will be released in September.

It remains exciting...

You can offer your wife and child on eBay :)

As long as it is optionnal or limited to arcade mode.

I really hope we will see it for GT7, NMS is gorgeous in VR now!
because Project Motor Racing is coming out at the end of November.
I really think they don't care about other games, at all. I think the fact we get Spec III is indicative of a longer lifetime for GT7 than we anticipated, and I don't mind. 2 or 3 years more will be fine for me.

I don't understand this need on the part of many users to want Gran Turismo 8 or its imminent announcement at all costs. Living peacefully without the excessive need to always want more, more and more, is harmful. This is Gran Turismo, not F1 or FC/FIFA...

That's right, I'm mainly interested in racing games.

I would love to see GT 7 around for a few more years. One indication of its lifespan until 2027 is the car tickets from My First GT, which are valid until May 2027.

Well it's going to be in Project Motor Racing releasing in November which isn't EA so this is clearly untrue.
Not necessarily. Remember that Forza Motorsport 3 (or was it 4?) had a porsche dlc WHILE ea had the exclusive rights to porsche cars (and licenses).
So far no car manufacturer or game publisher made their license agreements public so license discussions will always be educated guesses at best.

I think next year will be one more year of updates. Assuming there's no update before Spec III in December, we'll end 2025 with 556 cars.

And maybe a chance for Polyphony to go all out next year so we end GT7's lifetime with around 590-600 cars.

That's what I think and hope too.

I love GT7 and have now clocked up almost 2,100 hours of gameplay and more than 200,000 km driven.

GT was the reason I bought a PlayStation in 1999 and I've been hooked ever since.

The way GT7 has a linear campaign and most of its events being 'catch the rabbit' style. The lack of decent championships with close racing and to include qualifying. the way the whole campaign isn't focused on 'rags to riches' like the older games. Stuff like that alone isn't something they'll fix in GT7 hence why hoping (and gambling) on GT8 addressing issues like these is why people are asking for it.

Even the event structures of GT1 (practice/qualifying optional, grid start races) is something I'd prefer personally.

Everyone wants something different put into the game but some things just wont be changed in GT7. Or should we all just stay silent 'at all costs'?

I think the chances they "fix" those in GT8 is a probable as them fixing those in GT7 via updates. The fact they haven't even tried means they think it is good as is, so I fail to see why they would change it for GT8.

They've never patched to change the main game's structure previously, but have changed it on the next game. Plus it'll be an easier thing to do from start to finish on a new entry rather than going back and changing the fundamental structure they set up (this will be a lot more work). The 'hoping and gambling' from myself here is that the chance of anything happening is more likely to be in a new game than the current one.

I honestly really like GT7 as a 'tech demo' but not a racing game, plus everything they've added that's quite different to just cars and tracks (like VR, Sophy and the upcoming data logger) are all in line with good additions to a 'tech demo' and don't touch the previous 'structure' that exists. So that's why I'm hoping the main campaign and even structures are better than what they are now for the next game, to change their current trajectory of more linear and stale campaigns otherwise the next 'campaign' part in GT8 itself would become more linear and stale and pointless.

Plus having something like making a racing game not mostly be 'catch the rabbit' races as it's campaign is honestly just the 'stick in the bike spokes' meme on something that should be quite easy to avoid, yet they can nail the harder stuff that was a complaint from previous games (sound, graphics, attention to detail, driving physics, etc).

I haven't given up faith that they'll be this incompetent in the next title. But if they do mess it up then I will.

So, any clues on the unannounced 4 cars?
Outside of Xiaomi "coming soon"? Not many clues, no.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is likely (but not guaranteed) to come in this update. There was also the Xiaomi VGT, but it's unknown if that thing is even ready. Probably for a 2026 update.

We also saw the old Fiat Panda being worked on, back in May, so that could be a possible car. I doubt it, though.

Looking at the previous major updates we had (Spec II and Eiger update), the cars we had in those updates were always quite varied, specially Spec II. So I very much doubt we are getting a DC5 Integra since we already know the FTO is coming, for example.

Out of the 3 remaining "spots" (assuming the Xiaomi SU7 is coming), I think we are getting atleast 1 American road car and 1 European road car. The last spot could be anything, really.

Yes! PSSR for PSVR2! Great news! Looking forward to have it tuned in for GT7 with the Spec lll! :)

They did flesh out a decent career in GT Sport after launch so if they had wanted it, they could have done something similar in GT7, and they touted everywhere before the launch that it will be a return to GT roots regarding career mode and so on.

So I am not optimistic for GT8 in that regard.

I still don't understand the discussions about GT 8.

GT 8 is still a long way off. I don't think it will be released before 2027 or around that time because of the 30th anniversary.
