Apologies if its already on the previous 18 pages but if you are into the discussion of this topic you need to watch this translation of Kazunori's speech about the update:

edit: oh good, if i play this, Youtube autotranslates it to german which makes is absolutely useless. I hope you can prevent this.

There's one thing I keep thinking about looking at different posts in this thread, isn't it a bit too optimistic to expect any other not yet mentioned big features?
Surely there will be more things, but I feel like they already presented "selling points" of the update and anything else is going to be smaller and kinda on par with regular updates. Doesn't seem very likely they would do all that presentation but for some reason keep some another big feature as a secret.

That's probable, but it does not prevent all that we already know to be big.

At first glance, it's a nice update.
Especially because of the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. I'm really looking forward to it (shouldn't it have been released last year?).

But upon closer inspection, it's not worthy of a Spec 3. A long-overdue higher level cap, just one new mechanic, the data logger, and the removal of a really annoying feature (car invitations).
The rest is included in the regular updates.
I'm missing more depth and, above all, content here.
  • Real endurance races (the classic)
  • Brand races (there are special races, but only for a limited time)
  • B-Spec Mode
  • Removal of the PP requirements for races I've already won 3 to 5 times (that would be nice)
  • An info display indicating when you've made a mistake in a race, so you know there's no more extra money
  • A ****ing home button to go straight from the races to the map would also be nice
  • A general overhaul of the GUI or user-friendliness would also be nice

Something like that would be a Spec 3 in my opinion.
It seems on par with the features added in spec 2. Just because it doesn't add your most wanted features doesn't mean it's not worthy to be considered "spec 3".

Whilst I'm still using pen & paper to log/create a Custom Tournament using cars from my garage on the tracks I choose & thus allocating the points I have set up, ala the real world, I'm struggling to get excited about this Update.............Sorry 😐

But that's got nothing to do with blue flags. How do you define what safe and unsafe is? That's covered by the section on driving standards (FIA ISC App. L)
It does, the blue flag indicates a faster car is approaching. In a majority of racing series, it is the job of the faster car to make the pass safely, not the car being lapped to jump out the way.

Well not all update has been revealed (only 4 from 8 cars)

And some info seems to be very vague like Sport mode improvements. What does it mean? Some small balancing? Or full overhaul? I think if it is going to be small they wouldn’t add it as main selling points.

Also Sophy updates seems to be revealed closer to release dates we can expect something.

you need to watch this translation of Kazunori's speech about the update
I read the transcript of the translation - which is three minutes into a four-minute video - and I think "need" is something of an overstatement:
Hello, I am Kazunori Yamauchi, that bloke you've been threatening to mail a pipe bomb to for the last 3 years. We've got an update for you. So, like, shut up, please.

The Gran Turismo series is doing proper well, in it, cuz we sold 100 million units since 1997. So shove that up your bum. It's amazing that we're still selling this many copies while you lot turned GTPlanet into a war zone. But you can be quiet now because we've been cooking.

There's an update coming in December for you ungrateful *****. There's like lots of **** in the update with two new tracks that someone will still cry about because it's not the track they wanted.

There's eight new cars which are probably also wrong because we haven't revealed a V10 M5 yet. There's also some other stuff like a graph for nerds and some races and stuff.

We wouldn't have reached 100 million units without your support over the years. So, thanks for the money.
I mean, I guess humour is a personal thing but 🤷‍♂️

It only took reading that "Translation" to decide the video is garbage. Granted I've never personally spoke to him but in the few times I've heard him in a video speaking at something like this, its not even remotely what he sounds or speaks like.

I don't think anyone "Needs" to hear more after that.

Well, maybe i don't get what you are saying but of course, the part of the video i posted was a humorous one and not to be taken seriously. It hasn't much to do with what Kaz really said. And me posting it here is partly to the fact that the wild things some are posting here on gtp is part of it.

But i guess that's it. No info, just humor and that is a personal thing, as Famine stated. Of we go to other directions in this thread.

So if we got the FTO, maybe prelude is an option for kaz. Both of them are FF civilian sports car. Don’t know if we got them in the future.🤔
I'd love a Prelude ! That was my goto car for starting old GTs ! (with a good career mode, not like the Café!)

Interesting to watch. Thanks for posting. Funny that they mention the F1 track feedback as "boring" and then trying to change it up as I wasn't aware of this. I was recently messing around with Forza 7 and drove on the track. I can't recall what version it was but since the GT7 update announcement I'm curious to get back on there and look at the track and think about it being in GT7.

The lighting features and environment are definitely cool and why I think it'll be very pretty in GT7, but not sure how much racing I'll actually do on it.

The Gilles-Villeneuve video is sadly in French
